Great review
@johngeraci3887 Thanks, John. I hope It brought you back to the day.
@ yes unfortunately & it was the flat version
Heeeeey Iggy I own the Canteen that knocked Steve’s tooth out as well as his Confederate kepi. There is still the blood stain on the canteen cover. Steve liked to show it off as a badge of honor. He was a good pard and you are as well.
Hello iggy, the romans did slaughter a lot of animals and one of them the european lion is extinct
@FranciscaCabelloespada I never knew there was a European Lion! The Roman's are so impressive, and then they have a very darkside to them as well.
Hello iggy, the romans did slaughter a lot of animals and one of them the european lion is extinct
I left a comment on your other post.
My das threw away my 1993 computer with all the floppy games in 2001 when I was 12💾 ! I went berserk, I can imagine how you felt losing your fort in the hotel room!!!!
@ronaldmcdonald8303 Ron, I hope you got things right with your dad now. When he passes, you will think more about wishing it had been better
@iggystoyparadesoldierrevie1092 Yes, about 14 years ago my dad fell and hurt himself, he very nearly died, then 2 years after that he fell again and nearly died. I'm extremely luck to still have him. I now buy him gifts and phone him all the time. He tells me that I should keep my money, but I send him gifts anyways. I love my family, my dad is special to me. I'm always asking him if he would like things for me to buy him, he just quietly declines. From now on I'm going to try and make our relationship last. I love my parents.
@iggystoyparadesoldierrevie1092 I love my parents, I'm always treating them to nice things.
Wow I had Kenner building when I was younger lots of fun.
@davidpearson1626 when I saw this again, I actually got tears in my eyes!
AIRFIX formed a big part of my childhood . I loved the Waterloo soldiers .
It's fun when you see something you loved so much. I once saw a Battle Action playset by IDEAL TOYS and I felt such joy to see it again. I never had it as a boy (the neighbor had it), and I couldn't afford it now, but it's okay. Seeing it made me happy.
I have the Indian horse, but it wasnt made with a base stand!
I wonder if it was made that way, or was it altered at some point in the past?
Does anyone know what happened to Toy Soldiers 68?
@valmirnogueira263 I subscribed to his excellent channel, and I heard he got into trouble with UA-cam. Some idiot complained that he was glorifying Nazism. That, of course, is bullshit! Depicting the past accurately does not necessarily mean you endorse it. The past is the past, and censoring it or changing it helps nothing.
I imagined that might have been it. I can even imagine what the video was. I am a History teacher and I completely agree with your words. Some envious person must have caused this. I hope he returns soon. Thanks for responding.@@iggystoyparadesoldierrevie1092
Does anyone know what happened to Toy Soldiers 68?
@valmirnogueira263 Yes, he got censored by UA-cam. Apparently, someone said he glorified Nazism, which is utter nonsense.
I bought a number of Minitanks back in the late-1960s. Being a long-time ago I can only remember that I had the Conqueror MBT, Jagdpanzer, Honest John Missile launcher and quad flak panzer. At the time there was a model shop, called Model Time, which had a display of painted Minitanks in a hillside diorama, which impressed me greatly leading me to try and build my own. The shop was in Croydon, South London, UK and is long gone. Enjoy your videos as, although not a collector, the soldiers, particularly, Airfix and Britons, bring back happy childhood memories.
@@tonyburrett9950 your memories brought back very happy memories for me! I dont want to get you in trouble with the missus, but you still can get all the things you described on EBAy. You would be surprised how much pleasure you can derive from recreating your childhood in a positive way.
@@iggystoyparadesoldierrevie1092 Thanks Iggy but as I have over sixty boxes of history and politics books as well as magazines, which I hope to be moving to our new home soon, I think my wife would kill me if I restarted building models again. But perhaps in the future once we've settled in.
Had this Loved it! Played with this and other sets all the time as a kid
That sounds like a happy time to remember!
This was a beautiful set of figures. I've seen examples of these painted to an incredible standard. I'd love to acquire them one day. Airfix had a rather mixed history of figure design but these were among their best.
@robertgraves8843 Most of their stuff I liked although I didn't care for their Japanese. I used to dislike their Afrika Korp (mostly because none of them had a helmet). Over the years, I got used to it, but their Japanesea still don't do it for me.
I used to have those once upon a time back in the 70s and 80s. I used to collect lots of 1/72 scale and even Esci that i think is now Italeri and some Atlantic. When we're young everything seemed to be bigger our hands were small. When we got older things like some of those soldiers shrunk. Unfortunately for me eyesight is not the best anymore so 1/72 figures doesn't do it for me anymore. 1/32 is preferred and bigger if when possible. Pardon me is that 1/72 or 1/32? They look pretty good. I can see 1/72 in reality but i have to do lots of squinting or wear magnifying glasses is the other way. Good show Iggy.🙂👍✌️👋🇭🇲🦘From Australia.
@George-pp2hr Bigger is better! I can't see the little fellas anymore! It sounds like we are in the same boat, so I try to focus on 1/32 or 54MM.
@iggystoyparadesoldierrevie1092 All the best Iggy. Love the toy soldiers. I never grew out of it as most folks do. I still have some collections but most are 1/35 scale model figures. I build a bit of everything but I love Aircraft a lot.👍✌️🇭🇲🦘👋 From Australia.
And also, also, I really like your brick house. I think it’s good too.
This is Zman’s reviews. I like your video too keep it up, bro.
I had these. I bought about two boxes of them and they faced off against two boxes of French Imperial guard. Also had a lot of troops from WW2. They all ended up being swopped for Star Wars figures, which I still have. This is my SW collection ( really out of date now). ua-cam.com/video/bndxvgZVkb4/v-deo.html
Ginger? Mary Ann? What about Mrs Howell? 007
@JohnMotz-l9t Mrs Howell has too much experience and would insist that the professor would be allowed to watch
Opening the box was, The Battle of Iggy-loo! Don't Worry Iggy about whats in your stash, just come on, and Shoot the Sh@t! I think you have all kinds of interesting items around your house! I wonder which maid at that hotel took home the Sherwood Castle, may be her grown kid is watching right now?
You know all of these years I never thought about a maid bringing the Castle home to her son. You have actually made me feel a lot better about it. I have always imagined the castle going into the trash, but if a poor kid got it that makes it seem a whole lot better THANK YOU!
@@MACEWINDULastJedi "Iggyloo" would be a great name for a plastic cooler.

Thanks, I am glad you enjoyed it. Im afraid it will be my last i for a while. I ran out if soldiers to share with you!

Nice video
Ha ha, doing a British accent again 🤣
Not as good as yours! (He, He)
@iggystoyparadesoldierrevie1092 Ha, your right. My English accent is very good 👍 you're a funny man!!!! Perhaps you could try a Russian accent, you'll probably be as bad at it as I am, he he!!!!
@ronaldmcdonald8303 MY nephew is a very handsome young man and when he was at a bar in New York a Russian girl with a very think accent came up to him and said, "you! I will have plenty sex with now!"
@iggystoyparadesoldierrevie1092 When I was young, I saw a boy in Norway who was absolutely GORGEOUS!!!! Sapphire blue eyes, platinum blonde hair and peachy lovely skin. I wish I got his name, he was so cute!!!! I could have kissed him!!!! He was the cutest boy in the world 🌎
Great video and awesome sound effects.
When we were kids, that's the way we did it.
@iggystoyparadesoldierrevie1092 better times. When I would go to the Train show in Wheaton with my late father in the 1990s. We would see grandfathers, father's and young sons looking at trains the grand father had and then gave to the father. Trains, G I Joe's, toy soldiers take you back in time. Often to better times, or at least better memories.
Well done,Iggy I have taken to searching antique shops for figures ect. and have done well ,may not always get what I would like ,however it is foun to search . Sometimes I make out like a bandit!🙂🧯
The search is half the fun, I think!
GOOD VIDEO SIR,HAVE THE WHOLE AIRFIX LINE OF WATERLOO FIGURES ALONG WITH THE BRITAIN'S ONES.AIRFIX DID BETTER WITH WATERLOO LINE IN 1/72 SCALE.GREAT FOR WARGAMING.TAKE CARE
Do you have a Man Cave to display it all?
DID BEFORE THE GRANDBABIES MOVED IN..STOREAGE NOW.@@iggystoyparadesoldierrevie1092
Very nice. You always have very interesting videos. I think we’re neighbors. I’m in Fort Myers area.
Is it cold there? JACKSONVILLE is freezing! I need some global warming big time!
Iggy, it was colder that a Mother in Laws kiss down here. 🥶
Cool soldiers. I still have most of my soldiers, mostly marx and alot of airfix 1/72 figures.
As ever an excellent video with your own fantastic style too. Great English accent BTW. ❤
I was channeling my English ancestry to do the accent.
@@iggystoyparadesoldierrevie1092 I'm sure Richard Burton will be turning in his grave Iggy!!
"Broadsword calling Danny Boy!" @@johnf3885
@johnf3885 If I could speak like Richard Burton, I would be King! James Mason was awesome, too. I like some colonials as well, such as Christopher Plummer and Basil Rathbone.
English / French on the box might indicate this box was for the Canadian market.
@@garfieldsmith332 out? You have something there!
One thing inaccurate with 7th Cavalry figures even though an excellent sculpt , at the Big Horn expedition the cavalry did not have sabres in fear of alerting the Indians with the clanking sound riding on horses.
I had this set and it looked amazing painted. I was pretty good at that as a kid 😊
@paulmcintyre4235 I learned early that I had no talent or skill for painting. You are blessed to be able to do that.
Me too. I was just getting into figure painting when I got this set and they turned out so well (due more to the figures themselves than my own skill) that it became my full-time hobby.
Really nice figure sculpts, including the horses.
@@philb2085 I agree with you. AIrfix was the best
Im still trying to buy this set of great Airfix 7th Cavalry. Their either to expensive of used sets with pieces missing or recast figures. I'd love to have that original creamy yellow figures. I had lots back in the 1970s but missed out on this one. Good show.🤫👋🙂✌️🇭🇲🦘 From Australia.
@George-pp2hr Hi George! I wish I could tell you more about where my brother got them and how much they cost, but I was afraid to ask him. I. Guessing it was expensive. The best way to get them is an estate sale. The wife of a deceased collector does not care about hs prized items. I hope you can find them at a good price Cheers!
@iggystoyparadesoldierrevie1092 Hello Iggy. Canada have lots and some in US and UK. Regardless if a full set or part set they are well over AU$100.00+. I've seen a set but sold separately the mounted soldiers and then the standing and prone soldiers. Sometimes I do eventually get something I want badly. You just have to accept the cost or otherwise nothing. All the best . From Australia.🙂👍✌️🇭🇲🦘👋
Finkal! May be that's why the call someone who betrays others a FINK! This kit brings back a lot of memories I still smell the paint I used to paint them!
@MACEWINDULastJedi Do you still have them?
@@iggystoyparadesoldierrevie1092 I have a horse with no name, that I glued a German solder from a Tamiya kit! the German is 1/35,so the horse looks big!
I got the Marx Desert Fox for my birthday on September 29,1966. The American vehicles & Solders were Olive Green and the German Vehicles & Soldiers were Dark Gray.
That is a wonderful birthday gift! I hope you still have it, but a lot of that stuff disappeared when we became teenagers and more when we moved.
They would work well with a fort apache. Cool figures.
@ericbliss9512 I agree! They would be more preferable than Marx figures.
I remember buyiing this great Airfix set in 1978 with my pocket money at a model shop in the city when on a school camp,as at the time I was totally taken by the whole 'Custer's last stand' & 'Battle of the Little Bighorn' story & the history Though this video, made by the channel called Battlefield Detectives.was made nearly 20 years ago now,it is well worth watching Iggy,in the video the battlefield detectives talk extensively about those 7th cavalry troops who died away from what was the main battle at 'Last stand hill' that you talk about here iggy?,& their theories on what actuallyhappened to these poor guys?,I watched it several times over the years & still find it fascinating?,here is the link to this video if you wanna watch?,cheers ua-cam.com/video/qTRcQTUW0vk/v-deo.htmlsi=fSAQYBSV7zBGhUYd
@malcolmbolton1473 Hi Malcolm! I watched the documentary that you suggested. I thought it was very interesting. It seems that it was more of a one-sided slaughter than a battle
@@iggystoyparadesoldierrevie1092 Because of the fact of Custer's over-estimation of his owns strengths, abilities & ego, dividing his forces, total misjudgement of his opposition & the likes or Sitting Bull & Crazy Horse themselves, yes it probably a complete slaughter for the 7th cavalry on that fateful day in history yes?,cheers
Airfix also made a 'High Chaperal' (from tv). Great video as ever Iggy. Thank you for turning this world the right way up in these videos. 🥰📽
@@leoncsorba9085 Thank you, Leon!
They were really good. Even at 1/76 you could easily pick-out the main characters?
Those are nice. A very historic video.
I HAVE THESE PLUS THE OTHER AIRFIX WESTERN SETS ALONG WITH THE BRITIANS WESTERN SETS.THE BEST CUSTER LAST STAND SET WAS THE BMC SET THAT CAME OUT IN THE LATE 90S.THEY EVEN GIVE YOU ARROWS TO INSERT INTO THE TROOPERS.YOU GOT CUSTER,BROTHER TOM AND OTHER OFFICERS THAT WAS IN THE LAST STAND. TAKE CARE
It's nice you kept them for so long, I wish my parents haven't chucked everything away!!!!
keep breathing we dont wanna lose you.had some of those when i was a kid
@gregf9360 I hope I didn't sound too dramatic. I suffer from Congestive Heart Fial I re, but I think the wheezing was caused by cat allergies.
I think I bought a horse with arrows stuck in it that was BMC. Are you going to the Texas show in San Antonio this year?
may god give you strength peace and health brother 🫡
What inspired you to make UA-cam videos?
@connorzhang4493 I wanted to catalogue what I had left of my collection after a thief broke into my storage space and robbed me.
@ I’m sorry to hear that. Hope everything is better. Keep making good videos they’re really good
I like it. It’s nice.
Would you be able to give me you're PO box? I have an army man that crawls I would like to send you, so you can make a video about and also enjoy using it.
I also like the LOD figures, only draw back is the brittle nature of weapons, nice job .🙂🧯
@tommietillie9899 sometimes the resin castings are rough too. The sculpting /modeling is very good though.
Iggy you son of a gun. There is nobody else bro wise that I would rather go to a fantasy diner with.
@TomcatX There would always be plenty to talk about!
Interesting video Iggy.
@ronaldmcdonald8303 Thanks, Ron.
@iggystoyparadesoldierrevie1092 Your welcome, a few days ago I received my eBay package. It contained a Shadowkhan Ninja soldier from the Jackie Chan adventures cartoon. I got it because its basically a Ninja and I loved the show. Boy do I wish that they would make new episodes!!!!
This is great. Have you ever seen a set of Rogers' Rangers? Beavers are great at building dams. By me they built a dam in the forest preserve and flooded a main road. But it was still cool.
@paulbervid1610 I think Beavers are awesome. I don't think I could kill one that's for sure!
You can get Roger's Rangers by Barszo cast in green. They are still around.
