Love these, happy memories of 'airfix' battles. Britain is in the grip of MADNESS currently. My dad came to Britain in 56 from Hungary, if he was alive now he'd be escaping Britain and going back to Hungary. Britain is lost Iggy.
My brother and I got these for Christmas, as well as buying them for ourselves in the early 60's. Still have several around although for some reason, most have their heads bit off.
@jerryprice5484 cannibals stalking your toy box during the night? It sounds like your figures we re attacked by headhunters. My figures (Japanese and marines) were taken away from me by my 4th grade teacher.
I seem to recall these boxes, when opened had a 'smell' , would that have been the plastic ? Either way, that smell always promised endless hours of fun.
@colinmacmillan2944 I had plastic raincoats when I was a boy that had a strong plastic smell. Now whenever I smell something similar to those I'm transported back in time!
My first sets were these, but in slightly updated boxes with different illustrations. Clunky sort of molds really, they updated some (Germans and Afrika Korps particularly) in the seventies to mirror their 1/32 equivalents, which were more naturalistic looking with better poise and detail. However, I liked the fact you got panzerfausts/schrecks with the older set. Was never sure if that little cannon was based on anything real-world though.
That gun was supposed to be the 28mm Panzerbüchse 41 (lePzB 41) , actually a heavy antitank rifle that was also mounted on some halftracks and armored cars.
Great video. I am old too and fully agree with you on the invasions currently occuring in all Werstern nations. There is some hope for the future as the docile sheep are slowly waking up as living conditions continue to degrade at an every increasing speed.
The people causing all of the problems are more than likely not forced to live with it. They live in segregated areas with lots of security and meanwhile they call me horrible because I don't like that my car was stolen and my bicycle too. It's unpleasant going to the store and everyone is speaking a language other than your own. At work, I was called "that white mother f@%ker!" The store manager said that was okay because only white people are racists.
Great videos Iggy! hang on to them because according to the news Hornby who owns Affix is in deep financial trouble. They might not be around much longer. How did you manage with the hurricane?
THESE FIGURES ARE HO/OO SCALE NOT 1/72,WHICH MAKE THEM A LITTLE SMALLER .STILL HAVE THEM AND THE OTHER THAT CAME OUT IN THE 70S. DONALD FEATHERSTONE ,A ENGLISH WARGAMER BACK IN THE DAY HAD A BUNCH OF BOOKS ON AIRFIX PRODUCTS. TAKE CARE

@carlclink9993 The figures are super fragile and I didn't want to risk it. The one box I opened was almost 100% damaged. I wanted to showcase the box art, which may have been unfamiliar to many, whereas the figures are well known.
Oh good grief. I don`t remember those boxes, but ones with the complete illustration and no windows. They were bought on Saturday mornings and on active duty after a quick snack. Never painted any of them. The Goofy cannon suppose to be a Panzerbushe 41. Never saw the Russian box, oh well!
@davidmartyn5044 I only remember The Japanese and marines with windows box. I didn't have a lot of money back then (.50 for a box) but now they are 20 times that price and I still can't afford them!
@@iggystoyparadesoldierrevie1092 There seems to be loads of 20mm figure manufactures now. I bought some for a Black Hawk down project. I had a big draw of breath how much they cost. The U.S Army figures were barely useable, so much flash. I would say at least 2mm around the whole figure. When I see videos like this, I wonder how many troops are dug up from back yards!
@@iggystoyparadesoldierrevie1092 no worries, cool, yes I googled it,published by jean christopher carbonel, came up under wargaming, etc.?,see if I can get my hands on a copy as I enjoyed my 1/72 scale soldiers as a kid very much,I sold all mine I still had left on ebay over 10 years ago, still remember my mother buying me the world war one british infantry set back in 1974 when I was about 9,later on I got most of the WW2 sets, plus US cavalry, indians, confederate infanrty, foreign legion st,wagon train set & much later alot of the matchbox sets as well, many, many memories & fun, cheers
@@ericbliss9512 I think later sets dropped the goofy looking canon. You aren't missing anything! It looked like one of those square TimMee toy canons with the wheels cut off!
I totally agree, were losing our culture, slowly but surely. Although I have no issue with immigration, I just don't like religion. Your not racist simply telling a difficult truth. I get called racist all the time because of my views on religion, religion is not a race. Immigration is OK, but were experiencing a lot of trouble from those who don't want to integrate. I have no issue with any good man, no matter what their skin colour, and yes, most of them are OK, we just need to do something about the thousands of right wing anti semitic, homophobic brutes who now call britain and other parts of Europe home.

Hungry and Poland are our last hope. They have governments that protect the language, culture, and religion of their people.
Those are very nice. Great video and very historical.

I remember the Airfix soldiers from this era, or late 1960's.

These were the mid-60s versions. I used to buy a box a week out of my pocket money. They were 1/11 per box then. That’s 9p😅
@@djlewis5149 if only they were still 9p today. They are probably 5 quid nowadays, right?
Got a big box of these 1/72 airfix downstairs. Time to open it up?🇨🇦

The hurricane skipped right by us. Apart from some heavy wind and rain during the night we didn't experience much.
