How Street Fighter Makes Combos EASY
Переглядів 6 тис.Місяць тому
The first Street Fighter video of many, all about how the game helps players enjoy one of the coolest parts of fighting games. Not sure if there's any overlap at all with my current audience with this video, but we'll see how it does. *Also I finally got a video out in less than a month, let's go discord: discord.gg/CmYvfegJDA twitter: BobtheGuy
Why I Will NEVER Stop Playing Spelunky
Переглядів 1,5 тис.Місяць тому
I've played over 800 hours of Spelunky, and it's time I figure out exactly why that is. That is a short video description, wow. Anyways, have some links: Twitter: BobtheGuy Discord: discord.gg/CmYvfegJDA Twitch: Not a real thing yet, but we'll see
Elden Ring in Under 30* Minutes
Переглядів 6294 місяці тому
Elden Ring is a game with way too much content to pack into 30 minutes, but I hold myself to unrealistic video length standards. Or, I guess I don't hold myself to them, point is, I wanna talk about Elden Ring, and you should listen please and thank you. Discord: discord.gg/CmYvfegJDA Twitter: BobtheGuy Go kick some butt today (after you're done with the video of course)
My FIRST 4 HOURS of Elden Ring
Переглядів 9995 місяців тому
Everyone talking about the new DLC has finally convinced me to give Elden Ring a try, and the first 4 hours (yes there is a specific reason I chose that number) were very... fun. I think. I don't know, I scripted this at 4 in the morning, just watch the video. discord: discord.gg/CmYvfegJDA twitter: BobtheGuy
Rain World Artificer: The BEST Slugcat with a MISERABLE Campaign
Переглядів 50 тис.9 місяців тому
Playing as the Artificer is some of the most fun you can have in Rain World, but the objectives and areas the game has you interacting with are some of the worst I've seen in this entire game, and I wanna talk about it (please don't kill me). twitter (for if you want to scream at me): BobtheGuy discord (for if you want to scream at me with a bunch of other people): discord.gg/CmYvfe...
Lies of P: Pinocchio Wannabe Fights God with an Oversized Wrench
Переглядів 1,3 тис.10 місяців тому
First new game I've played in the year 2024 goes to Lies of P, and I'm here to recommend you all give it a try to. This video does SPOIL, well, all of it, but that's because I needed to talk about this to someone for just under half an hour or I was going to explode. Hope you enjoy. And yes, the thumnail is bait, and no, there is nothing you can do to make me regret it.
Rain World Gourmand: Eating, Dying, and Blowing Things Up
Переглядів 41 тис.10 місяців тому
Everyone asked for Downpour content, here it is. A complete summary of my Gourmand playthrough, including the food challenge, which somehow proved to be even more difficult than the Hunter run. (also hey look a discord link wow: discord.gg/CmYvfegJDA This thing is super bare bones right now, not sure what I'll do with it, but it's definitely a thing that exists now I guess)
Playing Various Musical Instruments at Fatalis until it Dies (Monster Hunter World)
Переглядів 79910 місяців тому
I've always thought the Hunting Horn was a useless weapon for a solo player, with below-average damage output and lackluster buffing capabilities, so I've never used it before. Sounds like the perfect weapon to solo the final boss with.
Rain World Hard Mode: Practically a Sequel (but harder)
Переглядів 77 тис.Рік тому
My experience with Rain World's harder difficulty was incredibly different from my initial playthrough. Different enough to warrant its own video. Hope you enjoy.
Rainworld An Incredibly Well Made Failure Simulator

Taking Hellfire Tincture to its ILLOGICAL EXTREME
Oh pleaseee, where y'all getting stowaways?! It's been a month or two, 318 hrs, beat all the campaigns except enot, hunter, and monk. I've NEVER seen a stowaway, I heard, or at least got the impression that stowaways were spearmaster only, but as spermaster I never did once see any.
necesito ayuda, no tengo ni idea de como pasar esta campaña i need help, y dont know how pass this campaign :(
1:40 At some points I started to ask myself if vultures were designed to fend off the scavengers
Nice video mate! I just found your channel gonna sub now 👍 one thing I've noticed is that even though resets aren't that common in this game it's crazy how many opponents are looking for them. I use Kim and do run stop resets pretty often and I see a lot of opponents either holding back to stand block a potential overhead reset, holding parry, mashing tech or just mashing super/reversals (last one is probably just hoping you drop your combo tbh lol). I think most top players have caught on to the idea that if you are already getting hit by zangief combos you might as well hold up, and same for overheads since you're unlikely to get reset into a low since most people would normally just hold down back. One really powerful variation that I don't think you mentioned would be a shimmy reset. Since most people see the reset, get a bit spooked and react badly, they will see you drop then instinctively try to press something but without having any time to really think, most times they will parry or throw, or maybe try to do a reversal. So doing a reset and then simply walking back will get you a massive reward and really get in your opponents head
Wait wait… THIS GUY WENT THROUGH GARBAGE WASTES?!? Noooo shit you didn’t have fun! You chose the way of pain! I made it past that toll a total of two times just for the hell of it only to discover Artificer’s Garbage Wastes is a hell of red centipedes and acid it and he took it?!
Yeah this game is hard. But am harder
Spoilers: the intended ending has you dismantle your own systems, communication arrays and everything else, finally you're reduced to the 'make a paperclip' button and a few inches of wire as you convert your own processor arrays into filament. In the end, there is nothing left that isn't paperclips. Not even yourself.
I've said it before on a different video, but whenever I hear that opening fanfare on the Dwelling, it always puts a big, dumb smile on my face. Also, it's really interesting hearing what is more difficult for other people, because I tend to always go Volcana-Tide Pool, as you can Ankh skip in Tide Pool and Volcana isn't terribly difficult unless you're psychopathic enough to have a pack on, and the lava isn't too bad for me since I like to keep a freeze ray on me, which can freeze and prevent lava from dripping into the drill shaft.
You were just too stubborn. After 4-5 tries of going left of spawn I just gave up and went right. It’s way better designed than you think and even possible to 0 cycle beat arti. Hate to say it, but, issue issue.
Amazing work. Ty
great video!
Great Vegetables!
nice video bobtheguy
That manon reset is hilariously the stupidest thing I have ever seen i need to hit that
All this talk about Ken being OP, he doesn’t even have a true overhead, no side swap resets, no kara-throw or Kara period, etc.
Can't even combo off the overhead unless it's meaty, he's B tier at best :)
@ exactly, which is why he doesn’t deserve any nerfs. Can’t believe they took away his command normal step-kick and Kara cancel into basically anything. They turned him into a stance character, which is cool and different.
Sol badguy
😂 Nice try... BTW he has some crazy side switch resets with his tatsu hitting backwards and dragging you forwards with him,
Resets were so hype in USF4, where you had a great deal more true normal links (non-counter or DR).
Please tell me you’re going to keep making more sf6 videos, I’d watch you talk all day man
For sure, got a few more in mind. If anyone's got some suggestions though, I'm 100% down to field some ideas
I’ll think and get back to ya! What are ways I can go about figuring out solid restand resets for bison, say off a DI? I knew some of the aki ones but having trouble coming up with my own for bison and ken
The easiest place to start for restands off of DI is going to be Drive Rush Heavy -> Light. With a midscreen DI, you can do drive rush heavy punch -> light kick -> di Or for an overhead midscreen, you can do drive rush crouch mp -> mp -> drive rush forward heavy punch. It's a bit less serious and a bit more "if I get called out I get punished horribly", but you can do sideswaps off of midscreen DI too. Heavy punch -> light kick -> drive rush gets you on the other side, and you can cancel into either scissor kicks or the bomb plant with good timing. They'll both get you blown up you get blocked though, especially EX scissors. Wallsplats are mostly the same, you can do a Drive Rush back heavy kick -> light kick -> DI or drive rush forward heavy punch. No sideswap nonsense though with the corner there. Final bit I can think of is to use his level 2. From a midscreen DI, you can do drive rush crouch medium punch -> medium punch -> level 2 for a sideswap, but swapping the order of the medium punches leaves you on the same side. It'll probably just get parried unless they're in burnout, but it's something to keep in mind if you want to mess with someone you play regular sets with.
Holy shit this put to words a concept I faintly knew of but couldn’t quite grasp, wow
Surprised there aren’t many comments on this video especially considering that knowing how resets work and how to use them well is a very important high level skill especially with mind games on your opponents. Awesome video
great video !
Great Vegetables!
I don't even play fighting games but i find this to be very fascinating
As a Smash Bros player: "Ah yes, combos." is about all my brain could handle, but great video!
Smash absolutely has resets!
Bro doesn't understand game theory smh (once you unlock the auto-replay I think BEAT LAST is best bc most of the stats are deterministic)
Hi Bob!
Heyo!
NEVER let him know about inv💀
Man was filtered, nah jk its bad unless you turn off gates.
1:52 I got a chick fill a ad right when you said that, I'm starting to wonder if slugcat colonies have fast food
Still waiting for continuation
i mean the scavager toll is there to make you go the other way which is much easier
4:04 Cuz it didn't xP
broski mentioned😍
well obviously you get lost if you ingore the overseer. Rain world doesnt care abt ur spiritual journey to see ur favourite iterator, artficer lost her kids ffs and she wants to get revenge.
All i see is : Massive skill issue Some people don’t like to fight in this game but many people like it. To the point that one of the many mistakes people do when beginning Rainworld is being too much agressive. This is just a question of playstyle, not a question of "bad gameplay because it’s unfair to die womp womp"
Sure seems rainy today.
I can't tell if this is an elaborate doxxing attempt or some sort of Fullmetal Alchemist reference, but also you're objectively correct. Wish it wasn't rainy, made driving a pain.
Read @inschaal8454 recent posts. It'll all make sense there. Wacky coincidence, though.
It was a thing @inschaal8454 was doing.
Idk if the smash ultimate mention of focus attack was for the sake of the viewer or for lack of information but quick note: focus attack originated in street fighter 4.
Was supposed to be a joke, but it confused a lot of people, so that's on me. I've played way too much sf and smash
@@bobtheguy6485 Danm, sorry then. Love your video tho, gave me a better look at combo complexity/accesbility in fighting games.
just bought strive, sf6, and a hitbox last night. Place your bets now. In six months, will my hitbox be covered in a thick layer of dust, or will I be obsessively learning framedata and matchups! 😂
As someone who plays on keyboard, don't you dare let that hitbox go to waste
@bobtheguy6485 🫡 yessir! Taking in the various training modes on pad while I wait.
Value drift is a concept for von neumann probes, which are basically spaceships that can make copies of themselves exponentially. When a probe replicates itself, its children have a small chance of accruing errors in their programming and construction. Those errors compound until the probes a couple thousand generations down are completely different and no longer share the same motives as their forefathers. It's like how cancer works but on a way bigger scale and it's why von neumann probes are so terrifying in sci fi, because no matter what you do, the swarm WILL rebel.
You don't start glowing, you ate a neuron fly :( Meanie
The games message isn’t about taking efficiency to logical extremes It’s about how if the idiot disaster monkeys who want to develop a AI superintelligence succeed, then we die.
Shoutout to Aki
Aki is cool
Cool, but focus attack is from street fighter 4.
Oh my god I totally forgot, Ryu was originally in smash 4, not ultimate. I apologize for spreading misinformation
@@bobtheguy6485 Street fighter 4, not smash 4
@@mifaro2255woosh
They added Ryu to street fighter???
@@doctorshakey8072 yeah, shocking really
I have a background playing Tekken and Strive. I found Street Fighter to be the hardest to combo in out of all the recent fighting games. Its mainly due to the game just not being very lenient on the inputs compared to other games. At least, thats how it feels for me. I have to be on point to get my combos in this game. For my mode casual friends, they've told me it feels very stiff.
Actually the inputs are very lenient. There are many input shortcuts compared to games like SF2 or Third Strike. Old heads know lol
@@pancakejamboree8700relative to strive and tekkens “just press all the buttons in order” sf with its 5? frame links (not sure how much input leniency sf6 actually has) is way harder. I know about sf4s 1 frame links
@@jellofan1578 SFV feels about the same as 6 to me. When you've practiced and played SF4 the other games are just immensely easy by comparison. I love SF4 but I don't blame Capcom for the change. It was long needed to bring more people into the game.
great video
Great Vegetables!
Yes, I'm an Electrical Engineer by day and play SF6 at night. I have not played since SF2 but love SF6's eye candy and the difficulty of combo'ing in the game. Plus, now with leverless controllers, I have a real chance and with history I know what I'm doing wrong if it fails to land. SF6 has me hooked. Bravo on the thought provoking video.
hell yeah man

Greatest game. Also, if you have steam version, you can play at Spelunky 2.5 mod. Its a crazy experience)
This started auto playing while I’m doing Sakura and Ken infinite in mvc2 and it makes me laugh
great video
I found doing guilty gear combos easier as a new fighting game player compared to traditional fighting games since the gatlings make combos easier and it is much easier to hitconfirm into a decent combo in guilty gear. Personally I also just like the craziness of the combos compared to sf, makes it more enticing to learn the good routes. One trap in strive is the combo browser; very unoptimisal and situational. Dustloop has some really good combos off of common starters which would be much more helpful for new players.
You know, I might be biased by GGST being my first fighting game (other than smash). I struggled a lot more at the start just from lack of familiarity. I stand by my points though, the slash-heavy slash combo starter is good for new players, but nowhere close to how clear of a combo starter Drive Impact is. Execution isn't something I discussed though, that's on me.
@@bobtheguy6485 Yeah i understand your point, i also started with GGST. Good video btw! I'm def interested in your content now.
nice video! Check out the Spelunky 2.5 Mod if your on PC.
