The Way We Farm
United States
Приєднався 15 гру 2019
The Sumbitch tractor show was started in 2018 to raise funds for the fight against Alzheimer's disease. There is an estimated 5.8 million people living with Alzheimer's, and my Father-in-law was one. I'm just a guy from rural western New York, hoping to raise awareness for Alzheimer's and make people laugh in the process. New Videos every Sunday at 9am.

Hey Tom great vidéo and harveste corn equipement 3:20 great setup
@@noehueber6602 Thanks my friend!
I've got a 1974 7520 that's been in our family since brand new. Just put eight new tires on it 23.1x30s Firestone radials. Great tin no rust. Occasionally I put it on a harrow just to get some use out of it.
What is your production cost per acre? greetings.
It depends, they require many more spray passes for weeds and fungicides. Also we pay different rent prices for different farms. Usually black beans are profitable
@@Thewaywefarm But an average cost per acre, how much does it cost to produce beans until harvest? greetings.
One question: is the plant tall relative to the ground? Are the pods separated from the ground? Here in Mexico they are at ground level and you cannot harvest them with a common header, as you do. greetings.
@@miguelvalenzuelaherrera3457 Most of the time they stand up high enough to cut well. If they fall over we cut them one way going into them. Thanks for the questions.

Where is the market for Milo
@@marvinmclachlan1395 We found a market for it in New York for birdseed.
I do not know about any sorghum in Europe. But it could be in some area's? Seen many fields with it in Kansas and Australia.
@@coenbroosh It seems to do well in dryer areas of the world. Hope it does okay if we have a wet growing season. Thanks for watching.
I plant quite a bit here in nc Kansas. Does well in dry weather .. limited on herbicide compared to corn . But it is good about scavenging nitrogen from ground! This was my 49 th year of farming and the milo was 11 to 12 % moisture! The driest I ever had!! So was the corn and beans. Odd year….
@@karljacobson1575 49 years is a great career! We are only 2 years in with milo but this was our 15th year farming on our own. Hopefully next year we all have a good season and decent weather to get crops harvested. Thanks for the comments.

Poor old girl fightin for it's life!! I love your nostalgia Tom. Your corn picker brings back memories (of course 😂)...when I was about my son's age (5-6), my father used to hire a local farmer with his new idea corn picker and put up a couple corn cribs full of eared corn, then on a weekly basis, truck it to Holcomb Agway and they'd grind it for cow feed. Boy I've got it easy by comparison!
@@EDBZ28 Corn picking was my favorite time of the year, when I was 13 dad let me start picking. I thought I was the coolest kid in the neighborhood. I still love picking a few rows. Never cared for shoveling ear corn

Having grown up in Europe when this style New Holland (Clayson) combine was new but in all yellow, it is strange to see this combine in red. Is this machine built in Belgium too?
@@nielsdybro9759 I’ve never seen a yellow one. This is interesting, our machine has some panels that are a yellow/green color where the red paint is pealing off. Yes it was built in Belgium too.
@ The model numbers the New Holland (Clayson) I remember were the M135 and the 1540/45/50. It looks like your 985 is similar to the 1550, but the yellow version has some lower panels not present on the 985. Otherwise, the shapes are alike.
