I met Jimmy Bain and Brian Robinson at Phyllis Lynotts: The Biz. which was a pro digs for musicians. They were telling us about the new Wild Horses album. She had a bar there that opened at 2 am until 8am. So that you could get a drink when you got in from your gig. Breakfast was at 5 in the afternoon. Happy days, we used to stay for weeks on end. She was like a mother to us.

Thin Lizzy were iconic, but didn't get their due in the US until jailbreak. We were backwards.

I helped lug Wild Horses gear at Lincoln in the late 70s. They arrived very late for the gig but were pretty brill I thought. Awesome seeing Brian Robertson so close up... he was mega as were the other guys but as a Lizzy fan, who I'd seen at Reading a couple of years earlier, a special gig!

When asked what it was like being black and Irish, Phil replied ‘like being a pint of Guinness!’

I remember watching this and running out to buy the album. Martha and the band were so underrated in Britain, but I loved them!!!!

According to loudersound, one of the members of wild horses claimed Steve Perry had asked to join wild horses, which is completely false! Steve Perry was already in Journey at that time, why would he want to leave a successful band to join this group, a group which obviously was not going far? Just needed to say this!

Journey raised on radio was dedicated to phil. He and Greg khin went to score some weed one day

Whatever it is that makes a star Phil Lynott had it in bucketfulls which makes his tragic loss all the harder to bear. As a student in the 70's Lizzie were my number 1 play it loud band when a party was on.

I have a 1997 Tex Mex Stratocaster, beautifully aged. I would love to have him play it live, as it’s Swansong. I want to pass it on, but would love to see it played by a true pro Hendrix guitar player.

I adore Bill Nelson. I was just a teenager when I first heard him and Bebop. Wonderfully talented man. I’ve never had the pleasure of meeting him but he seems like a lovely guy too.

The producer need several days at a time to re over from each day recording these guys.

Totally agree. His music can sometimes be a mixed bag, but I still have a list of favourite tunes I often listen too, since I first discovered Bill back in 1981.

Carlene’s just a “good ‘un,”, eh?! And Dave’s a real pro. Nobody ever notes his producing skills (on his own records AND discovering acts like “The Stray Cats” in England). Too bad.
