You should be able to paint over the pre painted with no problem. Primers main purpose is to have a base coat adhere to the plastic, and since paint is already applied, no need for it. I would recommend revarnishing ( with a satin varnish)for a heavier paint update to seal the colors and prevent them from chipping or wearing off

@@eddieharr id recommend just satin, if you're looking for the classic scape look. You can also put Matt over satin to reduce its gloss a bit to the level you like it

@@Dragonphist1 I've had some good experience with Elegoo line, like the Mars 3 Resin printer is beginner friendly and has good print quality

@@Dragonphist1 I would not recommend it for hex terrain, but it could print other smaller terrain bits. FDM printers are better for terrain ( I'm still learning that style)

I actually had to use restraint to not put more puns in. Also, They're both the same color, an example of how "Our perception of an area's lightness is influenced by the part of the surroundings to which the area appears to belong", which is why polar bears appear lighter than they actually are.

I think the Army Painter fanatic line is a great entry for new comers, lots of colors, great coverage, and pretty good price. for what you get, they also have a couple of bundled sets which will really cover your needs based on your available funds . Their mega paint set wias designed to be a catchall for their paint, and essentially covers any colors you'd need. The vallejo line is a great entry point as well, it's a pretty good "all around" starting paint brand, which has consistent and good quality mini paint. If you're just starting, you can also use cheap craft paint from the store, as well, but that paint isn't fully designed with mini painting in mind, and you just have to be a bit more aware of the thickness and flow of it, but its still a good point to start off with as well. Might have to make a future video about this!

@@yannpns2943 the game has some pre released sets for those attending gencon, but it's said that the street date for the sets is August 29. Wave 2 was recently announced, and they had some presence in gencon. Renegade also posted any small updates on their website as well. Hope that helps!

I hope there'll be a French version, English doesn't really bother me, but when you're playing with friends who aren't initiated, the rules can already be a bit complex, so if there's a language barrier on top of that, it's even more complicated haha

The color codes don't help directly, but they allow the "actual" color to be seen so you can match them when buying or mixing paints. The code shows the color used, which is not distorted by camera and other digital interferences. I'm doing some research into it now, but found a great app that you can select the color used, and it will give you a list of recommended paints in your desired brands. More on that to come!

@@RogueScaper but how can you tell what color to buy then? Is there a numerical code that helps when ordering colors?

Thanks for the feedback, I'll start including the brush details in future videos. I like to think of natural hair brushes as a nice sports car. They are great to use, but for the most part they sit in your garage for fear of damaging it. I use natural brushes for eyes and small details mainly. and I like the flow on faces. For the most part, I'll be using synthetics for these videos, as they are more beginner friendly. (also, specifically for this figure, metallics shred up natural hair brushes, which is why I avoided them)

@@kimobrunsthanks! main brushes I used were the monument pro synthetic size 00 and Size 04, as well as the 6.3 and 5.8 artify dry brushes

@@RogueScaper thank you for the detailed response. Awesome! Why did you use synthetic over natural hair? Also, did you varnish the model afterwards or just leave it like that for playing?

@@kimobruns synthetic brushes are a bit more durable and easier to clean, and work better as a reliable workhorse brush. Since xeni is so big, didn't want to damage the more fragile natural hair. I made a brief mention of it, but edited it out for timesake, but I definitely recommend putting a couple coats of satin varnish over the figure ( I used Vallejo acrylic satin via spray can) to protect it from the heavy handling of heroscape

I'm glad both options exist for scapers. painting these figures is fun, but its also nice to jump right into it as well
