    although slow millbank bags are useful for filtering water, but you still need to boil it or use water purifying tablets to deal with any nasties. My last camping trip out i used a cloth to try to filter water i was collecting (from a boggy flooded forest), even so some little creatures got threw, Sadly no water source is considered safe anymore, even in remote areas their finding pollution (coming down in the rain) contaminating everything.

    I recently purchased some compasses that you can put on your wrist watch. Out of the 10 in the set six all agreed on North the other four were reversed. Do you know of anyway to reverse the ones that are reverse now? Really enjoyed your video like all of them they’re worthwhile and helpful and thought invoking

    • @pnyarrow
      @pnyarrow Місяць тому

      Hi Phillip. Now that is a tricky one! To be honest I just do not know the answer. If the needles constantly point 180 degrees in the wrong direction i.e. points south when they ought to point north then prhaps mark the cases so you know they are wrong facing compasses and use them If they are just erratic then I would take the pain and ditch or destroy them no one could use any of them to get lost. You could however gift them to your worst enemy but that is more than a little on the evil side. Hope this helps. Thank you for continuing to watch and comment. Stay safe. ATB. Nigel

    Brilliant video Nigel. Thank you! I disagree with the start of this video! I have got lost in our backyard twice and once elsewhere on a dog walk. Both areas I know very well. The sun disappeared behind dense clouds and we had stumbled off trail. In all three cases any compass at all would have got us back fast instead of the stumbling around for an extra hour. I always carry a decent compass now on ALL hikes including urban ones. The can show short cut directions on return journeys!
