I Roadtripped the MOST ISOLATED Country in the World
In this episode, I visit the most isolated country in the world, New Zealand. New Zealand sits over 1000 nautical miles away from the nearest country, and was the last country to be discovered by the Polynesians. But does that mean it actually FEELS isolated? And how has isolated impacted the country? Watch to learn more!

In this episode, I have the most random, excellent and unexpected day at my last stop of my road trip in Punakaiki on the West Coast New Zealand! Heya! I recommend coming over on the Working Holiday visa because then you’ll immediately be able to look for work, albeit low paying. Otherwise, your best bet it to find an accredited organisation offering employment or to go onto the immigration skills list to see if your skill is needed. The last two are the best ways to get a job in NZ. 💜

    Just came across your video. Thank you for the amount of content, your style of delivery, and last bit absolutely not least, your decency in supporting Ukraine. With the already high housing cost, I wonder what it would cost to have some R40 and an A/C unit shipped in, purchased elsewhere, and the labor to install them and put the walls back together?

    • @TheAudaciousPath
      @TheAudaciousPath 11 днів тому

      Heya! Thanks so much for the kind words. I’m not sure what you mean by R40, but in terms of ac units, they have the same systems as the USA, but the cost of electrics to run things is astronomical. My power bill more than doubles over the very cold and very hot months when I am heating and cooling. Does that answer your question? 💜

    Mt Cook is universally known as Aoraki in New Zealand (like "Mt Egmont" is known as Taranaki). Te-KA-po is actually pronounced TEK-a-po. There are many, MANY places you can go in Aotearoa and be alone nearly always, you just chose to go mostly on the standard tourist trap routes, so found yourself often with other tourists. International tourism pays 20% of the country's overseas earnings, and ceates some jobs, but "tourists", especially ill-equipped "freedom campers" are not really popular here.

    We're actually just considering moving down to NZ from UK as my partner got a job offer in Christchurch and our family - it's us two and our dog - could easily (but of course expensively) relocate now given the visas and residency status. Your experiences are very valuable😊. I lived in Germany before and in Russia and now in the UK and I would really love to move to nz now as we're getting older and older. But what people say about cost of living and how difficult it might be to find new friends and a new circle frightens me personally. It this everyone's experience ?

    • @TheAudaciousPath
      @TheAudaciousPath 2 місяці тому

      It’s hard to say if it’s everyone’s experience, but the way I think of it is, if you are aware, then it won’t be a giant point of contention when you arrive. Come to terms with it before you get here, and it will make your transition much much easier. And of course, your experience greatly depends on who you individually are as a person. I love it here tho! 💜

      Honestly, I want both. I want the office in my house because it makes life so much easier (I lived on a 40-foot yacht once, so I have some experience). I also want a garden and an appreciating asset I can lean on. After having been in the hospital for 8 months with an ex, I see how much big savings can make a huge difference.
