It's actually amazing that the narrator to "Thomas' Friendship Tales" can be the narrator to a Thomas story like this that is dark and twisted.

I got two theory on why did the Half-Engine spared Gordon. The 1st reason why she spared Gordon is because of Gordon didn't believe the story not mocked her just like @redman7775 theorize, she spared Gordon as a warning to others. The other reason is Thomas. I believe that despite going mad of everyone mocking her, she still view Thomas as her one and only true friends and she's know Thomas still feels sorry for her and that's why the Half-Engie spared Gordon is not just to prove a point, if she destroyed Gordon, she'll be betraying her only friendship with Thomas and in a way apologizing to both Thomas and Edward for threatening them years ago. That's just my theory anyway. What's all your theories.
