honestly whenever either touch of death or extreme regenration is put into a story you know you're in for a gorefest, like dorohedoro people or ajin, when people stop thinking themselfs as people and just as disposable meat chunks and do some crazy shit, or for example not and insta kill one shot like mahito where you might be forced to chop off an arm IS 1000 times better then unavoidable 100% death no matter what, which is why i think shigaraki was alot better before all his buffs, you could actually get touched by him for abit like we saw in the first season and only lose like all the layers of the skin and maybe some muscle.

Undead Unluck has such an interesting power system. Everyone has a super basic and one note ability, allowing them to negate a particular rule of the world such as death, luck, movement, etc etc. What makes it cool is how creatively the powers are used

some of these lower tier deaths are fine tho. not every character death needs to have a lot of pomp and circumstance like geto. just because a character like the grasshopper curse dies abruptly doesn’t mean the character was underutilized

Personally I don’t think weak worldbuilding damns a story. Some of my favorite stories have little to no worldbuilding. I think the issue is that when the characters are tied so heavily to your world and it’s possible future, if you don’t develop that world into something intriguing then it makes your characters come off flatter than they possibly were

There always needs to be a narrative balance and good writing because a touch of death technique goes from OP to completely useless and irrelevant super quick.

One of the few times I've seen the power of friendship done right is one piece, mainly thinking of the end of enies lobby. What works about it is that luffy is putting himself at a detriment because he's unsure of whether usopp wants to stay on the crew, and he only manages to get the motivation to keep fighting when Usopp says the exact thing he needed to hear, much like what Luffy did for Robin in the same arc

Like, some sort of ability to take the soul/life essence of someone.

i would put the junpei one higher just for how sad and cruel it felt and sukuna and mahito s taunting after watching hidden inventory and rewatching the movie , i connected a lot more with geto s death and would put it higher but in my initial watch it would be B or C tier

Riko's death had a very crucial role on events in JJK, because her death broke the fate-connection bewteen Kenjaku, Tengen and Six eyes users. Because she got killed by Toji, thus breaking the cycle, thus allowing Kenjaku's plan to work, thus allowing current events to even occur
