Fixing Chronograph in a Harley Ronda 5021.D Watch Movement How To
Harley Ronda 5021.D is a Swiss made watch with a chronograph function. This movement is pretty expensive. I used a previously scrapped Ronda 5030.D movement, where I found identical parts for replacements in 5021.D movement. This way I saved money and did not need to buy 5021.D donor movement.
Thank you for watching and please do not forget to give me a thumbs up!

Thank you for your video . How to put it back, please?
Just press it in when you want to put the case back in place. Thank you for watching!
Thank you 😊
Nice and clear, thanks.
Thanks!
I have the same issues on a Detomaso watch with the same cal. I'll will try that.
Could be the same cause, but might be a different. Try and see. Good luck!
Great job!
Thank you for watching!
Interesting, I have same jigsaw. I will try this with some upgrade (laser dot in center and white led strip for better view and alignment)
Great, good luck and thanks for watching!
Great job, it's the table that the saw deserves!
Thank you! Well said, now it is the time to regulate the saw to match the brand new stand.
Thank you so much very clear! Nevertheless, after a battery replacement the date is not properly displayed. It's always between two days. Is a push on reset will force the watch to display date correctly? If so, It won't be a problem to set it up after thanks to your video :)
It seems like the video was helpful for you and I am very happy for that. From now on you will have a perpetual calendar. Thank you for watching!
Nice job.
Thank you, philipfm!
Got the very same watch/model. But…impossible to unscrew the battery lid. It is welded-alike -.-
I had the same issue with this watch as well. You need to take off the case back and work on the battery hatch from the inside. Use some lubricant first, give it a time to get between the case and battery hatch, and then use tweezers to move the hatch in the correct direction. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for this video..its the only one on UA-cam
When I published this video there was another video, but it showed a less effective way of replacing a battery. Thank you for watching!
@@ValentechTime this is perfect 8 can't believe you separated the whole movement like that without taking it apart..great job..I'm having trouble getting the crown to release tho...how did you do it??
@@WATCHMEGOBROKE Look at 4:25 of the video. There is a small dimple I pressed on to release the stem with crown. The dimple is down into the quartz movement.
Great job! It's nice to see a nice digital watch get a new life. I also don't think I've seen a digital watch with a crown before either. I'm glad that you were able to salvage a part from the rusted donor watch and of course you were able to figure out how to fix the battery lead with your skills. Enjoy the watch!
Thank you for the nice feedback, my loyal subscriber!
That is Small world music
Please be careful when placing the watch face down with the hands installed.
Yep, I never do... besides if there is an elevated bezel, as it is in this watch. Hands are not touching the desk, it just looks scary. Thanks for watching!
Hi, thank you for making this video. Where did you purchase the new replacement crystal for this watch?
Thanks for watching! I bought a compatible crystal for this watch from the www.esslinger.com

Many thanks!
2 very interesting videos. Thank You (UK)
Thank you again!
Can you give me the details of your replacement motor please.
It is the MY1018 motor they used in scooters. I added the Amazon link to the list of tools and accessories of this video. You can use the link to buy the motor, if you would like to.
These older digital watches have become collectable. I hope you can find a donor for parts. Tech guides are still available online for this watch.
I feel the same about this watch. I've already found and ordered a donor with a broken crystal. Hopefully it still has internal parts that I need. I used the tech doc, learned the part names, and used them in my narrative. Thanks for watching!
This type of watch seems more difficult to repair than a mechanical one. I would think it’s going to be harder to find replacement parts for it
Maybe it seems so, but I do not feel this way, maybe because I am an electrical engineer. 😊
Replace battery and not working, any ideas?
Did it work with a previous battery until it discharged? Then it could be not good new battery. Otherwise, a lot of possible reasons. Does second hand tries to move, jumping back and forth? Could be a piece of dirt inside, dirty pivot holes, or even broken tooth on some gear. You need to disassemble it to find out.
@ValentechTime brand new batter and got no movement
well, at least once, you could have turned the clock 90 degrees.....🥴
There are a few moments when I turned it around. Also, it is a watch, not a clock. Thanks for watching!
What’s on the cotton tip, rubbing alcohol?
Yes, using IPA, which is an Isopropil Alcohol.
Can you tell me please the dimensions of the spring ?
I do not have this particular pusher anymore, but approximate springs dimensions are 1.5 x 4 mm. In any case, these springs go in different sizes depending on size of the pusher, so you need to do some adjustments.

I have this 2315 Miyota. I tried to find the point where to release the stem but in my version, it is hidden under the plastic part. Thank you very much for showing correct spot. 🤌
Glad this video helped you!
Just like Lego. Good job
New ETA 976.001 movement available for sale?
Yes it sales new at many locations. Just search Google. Thanks for watching!
Love the channel. Where are you located?
Thank you!
Outstanding as always.
Thank you, my friend!
I also have one and it has the same issue (the day does not change ) , from where did you find the parts, I also need these same parts.
eBay is the main source of the spare parts for vintage watches. I usually find a donor watch that is defective, but has a part that I need for the replacement. Good luck!
Glad I found this video. That black movement ring is what I'm missing. I got this watch and the movement was loose in case. Service is done watch is running great but so far I can't find one of them black rings any where.
Thanks for watching! Try to search eBay and look at the Temu or Aliexpress sites for the movement holding ring. Another option would be to buy a defective movement making sure it has a ring. For any of these attempts look for the same Seiko caliber, that is written on the case back of your watch. These holders are different amongst the models. Good luck!
Very nice job in improving a very loved model of saw. It is nice seeing a woodworking project and how it comes together.
Thank you for watching!
Great repair of a movement not typically seen in repair videos! Always interesting to see an ana-digi movement
Thank you for watching!
Hello, I by accidentally pushed my reset pusher without pausing the chrono pusher. It didn’t activate but I was pushing it quite hard, felt like it was just hitting metal and then I stopped. Did I do any damage is it’s working 100% right now? Thank you!
I do not think you caused some damage, the mechanism is designed for pushing in any sequence. Just check functionality.
I have to say it!!! Soooo satisfying work! Great job, as always!
Thank you, my friend!
I wish there wasn't music.
Thumbs up for your video ! 👍 I have a Festina F16374 with the same movement and the minute hand started to shake back and forth each time second hand is ticking. I would like to open it but I'm not sure how to do it. I noticed that you aligned all the hands before removing them. Do you have to also align the second hand when you reinstall it please ? I read somewhere that the hour and minute hand are linked but I don't know about the second hand on quartz movement. Also does the dial is glued on the movement ? 🙏
Thank you! The hands are better to be aligned before removing them to prevent their possible damage. When installing the second hand, it could be aligned to any position, just to match hand's tip with any of the second marks on the dial. For not so high quality dials, this is not necessary, because dials can have misalignment by their self. Yes, hour and minute hands are meshed together via gears and should be aligned accordingly. And dials are not glued to the movement. They are kept by dial feet. Some are also tied up by special screws.
@@ValentechTime Thanks a million for taking time to respond me very clearly and for your precious help ! 🤝
@@_Platinum- My pleasure!
Beautiful work. That base will add 100 years to that saw. Very, very nice!
Thanks a lot!
Kemarin saya bongkar mesin ini. Crono stopwatch nya mati Tapi jarum detik ny hidup
Did you fix it?
Отлично!
Спасибо!
Thank you for the video. What is the oil needed for this watch?
You are welcome. You can use Moebius 8200 for keyless works and 9000 for the train wheels.
Nice job. I do have a few questions I would appreciate your help on. I am having a hard time finding thin spring material that is in strip form. Can you suggest a couple of resources? What size spring strip do you typically use, material, and thickness? Lastly, do you have an idea what the maximum thickness you can have before the winder is too hard to wind. I have a different application that will use a larger spring and want to get an idea what will work.
Thank you! Sorry, I do not make springs from the strip form material, I am buying the mainsprings for wristwatches, made for them by manufacturers. The geometry of springs for watches are different and go by the watch brand/model. The mainspring winder is designed to work with those springs and I have no idea if thicker material would be used. But here is a suggestion. Pocket watches have thicker springs and should have appropriate for their size winders. If you need something thicker, clocks might be considered as a source of much thicker material. And there are winders available for clock mainsprings. I wish you good luck!
I have a seiko chronograph 7T92 of which hour hand is not moving while everything is working fine
Could be an hour or minute wheel issue.
That’s a Ronda 763E, it’s a one jewel movement, and you can easily tell by the silver metal over the gold tone used on the older Ronda 763’s. I have this movement in my Vero SWQ, and it’s pretty nice, reasonably accurate but I’d prefer a Miyota 2115 myself. Japanese quartz movements are really good.
I never saw 763 with E letter. There are G and some numbers, or just 763. The silver tone plates are used when the movement is manufactured outside of Switzerland, and gold are used in the original Swiss production. Both Swiss and Japanese quartz movements are good... until they broke. 🙂 Thanks for watching!
