    I’m now going through this had about with regular vertigo, which I often have usually if I get water in my ears would cause me to have vertigo really bad, but can usually get through it by doing the maneuvers exercise just recently though had double ear infection had a bad bout of vertigo that went away, but then have vertigo that makes me feel like I’m on a constant drunk spell if that makes sense very unbalanced I throw up at least twice a day. I don’t sleep well concentration is hard sometimes starting to affect my mental status makes me depressed. Starts making myself think I’m a hypochondriac thinking. Maybe it’s just in my head, but I know it’s not, I have an appointment to see an ENT which is going to be in six months which is ridiculous. I go for physical therapy to see if that’s gonna help my right ear constantly feels like it is full and I just took FMLA leave from work because of it all I know is that it really stinks to it and I feel sorry for anybody else that’s having to suffer from it. I’m 57 and I can’t drive.

    Whenever I tried to study out why I struggle in crowds, or begin getting dizzy & walking around like a drunk person in the store, all I seemed to find was rubbish about being an empath or 'highly sensitive person'. I guess I didn't consider a vestibular disorder right away because I don't get car sick & anyway I had a traumatizing experience in a too-crowded college bar at Halloween once.

    I had this when I was going through a really stressful time. It's a bit like agoraphobia and the reason supermarkets are worse is because of the expanse of shiny floors in between the busy stacked shelves. I used to feel as though I was falling through the floor from a great height. I would walk on the lino as though it were thin ice and I was going to fall through it. I experienced the exact same thing in the centre of London down a busy boulevard. The problem was that the pavement was too wide, too busy and too many distractions (people, cars and advertising). Again I felt as though I would fall through the ground. I had to walk close to the buildings and literally touch the walls as I walked past them or I had to ground myself either by humming a tune or parting myself on my head. I guessed it worked because either touch or sound was forcing my brain not to just rely on visual stimuli. Thankfully I don't get this anymore out and about but I do get it when I see a photo of someone at a great height on a narrow ledge (eg. Photos of riveters working at height)

    Idk how I stumbled across this. But, this is literally my everyday experience. I work in a manufacturing lab making veterinary diagnostic equipment and devices. And with the noise, bright bright lights, and the fast pace of everything going on it sends me for a loop. • @kathleenstrossptmsdptchc4623
      @kathleenstrossptmsdptchc4623 2 роки тому

      You can look at a target, but using a word is better. It allows you to be sure you are not going too fast. When the word blurs, slow down and dial in the reflex with practice in that range/speed. Hope this helps.

  • @life-mm5do
    @life-mm5do 2 роки тому

    Am I supposed to be moving my eyes and reading the target? Can I use a dot and have the same results.

    • @kathleenstrossptmsdptchc4623
      @kathleenstrossptmsdptchc4623 2 роки тому

      Moving your head and reading the target, yes. Using a word(s) is better because it requires a higher level of coordination than just looking at a dot. You are more likely to notice a word blurring than a dot blurring; allowing you to slow down and dial-in the reflex more accurately.
