There used to be a species of xeno's called the hrud. They are probably as close to the vex as you get in warhammer with being txeench. The hrud were able to travel through time in a 4th dimension beibg time kind of way.The iron warriors (now traitors) were able to defeat them by disabling their time Bull and then nuking the planet they were on. All in all I think it would be a good fight

I was today years old when I first heard the term Dieselpunk. And I love it. Not sure I love it as much as I love Steampunk but I'll give it time.

Guardians mop the floor with any of that verse.

Ghost durability: Ghosts are often killed by light, or darkness infused weapons. They can also be killed my very powerful, and well-time, Guardian supers and in theory by a Hive Ritual which has its roots in darkness powers. Paracausality: Simply forces which defy the laws of physics, which is described in-game as "an intervention in reality from outside, parallel to causality."....now what does that mean? More or less it is extra-planar shenanigans to put it as simple as possible. An exterior force from beyond reality which asserts its will upon reality and is, potentially, limitless. Cabal could kill ghosts with orbital bombardment because they were exposed and cut-off from the traveler, at least so it seems. As when they try to do it with our ghost...well, nothing happens. Light and Darkness itself is paracausal. As are the witness' creations, Hive, Taken, Ahamkara, Awoken (with Mara Sov being the most powerful of them) and possibly the Scorn....though their intelligence has been GREATLY diminished. Also, Psions are kind of like Psykers....and they're enslave by the Cabal...who the Guardians have beaten more than once at this point. Oddly enough I had this conversation with my friends the other day after they made me watch Hammer and Bolter. Other than the one friend who has never played Destiny.....guardians win. I feel like guardians who can load the power of a sun into a golden bullet and unload it may be difficult to beat. On the other side of that, if Guardians have their allies and all their resources....that is a nightmare to deal with as they potentially have Riven, and Mara Sov. I know you said the non-Guardians would be removed, but if a Guardian has an Ahamkara bone they could potentially make a wish. Not to mention, if Crow is around, he still has his connection to Mara Sov which extends beyond their current plane(s). If we're doing it pre-Crow Guardians...that means you got Saint-14 AND Osiris to deal with. Both of whom have some measure of respect from Mara Sov for their intelligence and sheer ferocity. It is also worth noting that a ghost can just go AWOL while their guardian does their thing and return any time. To kill a ghost it has to be present. You can turn a guardian to ash and watch the ashes for a thousand years....the ghost can wait and come back any time if it is smart...and some are that smart. You also do not want to overlook whatever the hell the void is in Destiny. Void can cause "distortion of spacetime, and allows its wielders to generate black holes, gravity waves and other spacetime-warping effects". When Guardians were first starting out void as an element was controversial as it was just so damn volatile, even to the point where they thought it was darkness. The only enemies seen in D2 that naturally can use void as an 'element' are the Taken and Psions (who are kind of psykers...bit important to note that). With Scorn being able to fashion 'weapons' out of it as the Cabal do. The Vex heavy weapons also make use of void...but they are interdimensional, time-travelling, robotic hive mind...

I wonder if warlocks could be used as a phyker substitute to sacrifice to the emperor. Would they be a sustainable solution since warlocks can respawn?

The necrons have a star killing nexus weapon that let's you point and click solar systems away. I think the necrons and nids would be the greatest threats by far. Necrons weapons are mater desintigrators. And they have shards of real actual gods they casually use as weapons. The nods also recently got the Norn Emissary bioform capable of defeating multiple custodes in combat. That could likely kill a ghost. The nids can adapt and would likely eventually overcome Gaurdians due to just not loosing atritional warfare.

Dude all guardians have to do is wait for their supers then all simultaneously use them at once while charging into war then the other guys are finished. No questions asked guardians are stronger. We’re talking mfs that kill GODS vs super strong humans here.

The biggest problem for the guardians, as I see it, would be the traveler getting so scared of the Chaos gods that it starts making guardians out of Necrons or Tyranid hives.

I can see the guardians basically imprisoning the orks on a few planets and using them as training grounds for New Lights. The orks would think they found heaven.

Theoretically any army that has a finite amount of troops at its disposal can be defeated by the guardians...its just math, infinite always beats finite

I think the Eldar and guardians would likely be allies. The only real reason they fight the imperium so much is because of the humans' xenophobia and complete disregard for Eldari warnings about the second order effects of their meddling. Guardians have no such problems, and I think both factions would have more reason to strike a deal than to fight.

so what I'm hearing is, The Vex and Hive would fight right into the Warhammer universe Also, all this talk of guardians defeating the 40K universe is insane, if the traveler showed up in the 40K universe that motherfucker would start taking in dead sisters and space marines in actual insane numbers. I for one would gladly accept my new brothers and sisters in arms.

Would the traveler become a "god" in the 40k universe? Where you have the chaos gods of averice, lust, etc... wouldn't the traveler be the "god" of light or life or something that isn't in the realm of 'chaos' nor the warp? I'm trying to map on the idea of what the traveler would be as their source of power....IF the traveler becomes a (idk lets call it) 'order' god, then the whole system becomes interesting... for the entire chaos legions would be on the hunt for the light and her light bearers. The war dynamic would be quite different if that is the case. But the guardians, en mass, would essentially be demi-gods which is a crazy army to think about introducing into the 40k universe. Furthermore, the guardian is known to harness the powers he/she comes into contact with. The chaos power wouldn't be able to corrupt them (because of their tie to the light) but they would harness it and use it to their advantage (New grenades, supers, specials, weapons, and armors...) This is just what they have been doing in D1 and D2 thus far. I don't know, even more so, every time they defeat a grand enemy (even if they could take down just one chaos god) they would turn them into a weapon and that power would only be added to their already standing power. Thus their power would only continue to grow. That's not even having the traveler (if we are saying the traveler is a god) enter into the fight. Though we know the traveler would be with the guardians. The multiplication of power would only sky rocket it seems to me... and that's with not just the vanguard but an entire (planetary) military force of guardians.... Lastly, once you have the full force of the guardians (Exo, awaken, human, and now there are even more races that are with the light) you have multiple races of militia all at full force.... it's bigger then just a bunch of guardians growing to the size of humanities forces in 40k... wouldn't you have an Exo force at that size, awaken force at that size, human force at that size, fallen (who were once with the traveler and we see them coming back into her good graces) force at that size.... So the amount of scaling up would be massive and they would all be guardians throughout these many races. (This one is a bit of a stretch but with all these races at the scaling up... I think it should be in the conversation). AND LASTLY, with the full force... would have have great weapons like rasputin put back into effect? What other great systems and weapons from the d2 universe would be coming over as well? The golden age of Destiny2 may not exactly come back but the potential for the exo's, with such a large number now may be able to get back to such technology... I love the content though! Love the take on it!!! Hope this kinda pushes the envelope in a playful way! I just can't imagine an entire world of guardians... that idea would be crazy.

Realisticallly, the only faction in 40k that would give guardians a rough time is the Imperial Guard. The sheer volume of guardsman, artillery, armor, etc. would overwhelm 100's or 1000's of guardians in a straight up fight (ignoring raid shenanigans and massively overpower lore shit that dosent appear in the game).

Guardians are basically unkillable Alpha + psykers that don't have to worry about demons using there butthole as a door from hell. Guardian weapons are so absurdly ludicrously overpowered that wielding the darknesss/light arent even necessary especially when all the Astartes are essentially using pre-buff Skyburners Oath. I love 40k but Astartes don't stand a chance (except maybe the Grey Knights) especially if there are any balls, plates to stand on, or relics to swing around.

The only real factor here is can space marines be made into guns?

Chaos is thought incarnated in the warp. Achieve peace. Khorne will be at rest. Defy entropy (the light) Nurgle will lie in wait. You do not kill Chaos. You cannot defeat chaos. Chaos is the universe and its fundemental laws and philosophy. Such as the Gardener and the Winnower. To fight is to play its game.
