If you love extended map Gudea, surely you would absolutely love playing the Sassanids with the mod Mundus Magnus for BI. But other submods are recommended like 0 turn recrtuitment, otherwise it would be an eternity and the AI armies would already have 30 full stack armies vs your 3 full stack armies and city garrisons of 2-3 units each haha

The only gripe is that because the map is way bigger, there are also way too many rebel settlements to deal with, that the Sassanids pretty much can expand the easiest since there are no challenges to their eastern flank (No White Huns)

Quite the challenge on very hard mode. I played a campaign as England and imagined that it would be a breeze after I united the British Isles. Then, by around turn 20, it seemed like the entire world was marching against me. Spain, Portugal, Denmark, Norway, France, the HRE and even Novgorod attacked in relentless waves. I could fight them all back, but going on the offensive was tricky as my economy was limited and I was spending most of my income on military buildings and units.

Obviously the map isnt gonna be as pretty as Shogun 2, we are talking a game that came out almost a decade early

Hey man. In this video you said something about this mod utilizing “weburd’s”? textures for units that other mods like rome total realism also utilize. Is there a mod which just reskins the vanilla game with these cooler more historically accurate units? Ive looked but am unable to find it

Overall, I quite enjoyed this mod. However, they did not fix the annoying AI at all. When I played as France, all of my neighbours focused purely on attacking me. When I eventually went on the offensive in their lands, I discovered that they had barely invested anything into their infrastructure, nor expanded into rebel regions.

The enemy general's armor could have been wearing nanban do gosoku (spelling), it happened sometimes.

Not the best mod for MTW2. It's Divide and Conquer - LotR mod. Possibly the best mod not just for MTW2, but in terms of polish and effort, the best ever made. This one's good too though

Honestly think the Valor system in this game is broken, and I love it. Who doesn't want a group of knights at 43 valor level, who've lasted for decades, and who can kill thousands of peasants and spearmen?

Hi! I'm currently playing as Lithuania and for unknown reasons, my religion conversion is slower than a dead snail with a kneeshot. There aren't any priests of different religion (catholic poland or orthodox russian) yet I struggle with raising paganism in my territories. I have 3 territories with 3 priests, 2 of them over 4 piety. Is there a penalty for paganism since every other religion hunt heretics or it might be a simple bug. Double checked with turned off FOW and there are no priests even in the neighbouring territories. Other question. You must end battles when it is prompted for chivalry so no run down enemies for prisoners I know. But does this applies to rebels, I mean Free Cities battles as well? Thank is advance!

I must've put 100s of hours into EB1. I've moved on since then but maybe this winter I'd give EB2 a shot.

Does anyone know how to fix the game crashing randomly with this mod? It's getting irritating that the game crashes during battles or on the campaign map like this...

It's a terrible mod. The economy is a shambles, there is no trading of tech and the AI is often worse than in vanilla.

The battle looked like something out of a drug trip or a fever dream. Hilarious commentary & better than all the Disney crap movies (maybe excluding Rogue one - it was ok I guess).

This mod is basically dead in the water. The only thing that keeps it alive for many is Bran Mac Born Campaign and Battle sub mods. The developers are only interested in making units and some buildings. They have not worked on Campaign or Battle mechanics. So if you want to play the 1212 mod then Bran's mods are imho essential.

It would be awesome to get Thera Redux for Rome Remastered

This was my first Total War game back when it was reasonably new. The atmosphere is absorbing and immersive, and it still looks quite clean and polished (I actually much prefer the paper map to the 3D ones; not only have the latter not aged well, but it's less period-styled and more difficult to read). I will actually go back and play this again soon. One question though: did you say "... tactics" at the end? The short cut off before you had finished the sentence.

I would love to see a Lucium like mod for Rome Remastered, or an Empire or Napoleon port-esque mod

I just got into Rome Remastered just today, its a really good game but took a couple of turns to figure out the UI but still don't know what all the buttons do. I can see this is THE best TW design wise. But it still seems to have an input delay problem which I rectified with the "Run as date" application

I have yet to play TW3K yet myself but I have been reading the novel upon which Romance mode is based and I think a lot of the reason the game goes with character vs territory/kingdom based factions is that at the point in time the main campaign begins, the titular kingdoms themselves do not exist and instead the Han empire (which legally still exists, and is recognized as such by the characters in question) is instead divided between various warlords and provincial governors (the three kingdoms themselves don't even become named entities really until well after they have de fact been established). Of course it's still reasonable for the character based factions to not be ones preference, but I do think contextually it was the most appropriate decision for this specific setting at least, although I would also say a campaign starting past 220 would be more appropriate with kingdom names once they have become firmly established. (I would also say that at the point the main campaign starts, most of the characters are still legends-in-making rather than legends to begin with but that's probably harder to distinguish when the selling point of the game is being able to play as characters who we know of in the present as legends and being able to re-enact the events that led them there)

MTW 1 is easily the best out of the series, the soundtrack, the opening screen, the art portraits for the characters and even leaving the game has as special sound.

The mod appears to be pretty raw and buggy (many units missing unit cards/descriptions, game treating some of your starting settlements as not really yours by adding movement blocks around its surrounding tiles). Played as the Romano-British. Wish you had emphasized that the current version is in early access state. Overall the changes are pretty good, just needs a bunch of polishing.
