I've done some pretty hairy put-ins and take outs with my hard boat up here in central Alberta, but if anybody ever suggested that I run mine down a cliff like that, I'm deleting them from my phone... Now on my two man raft, lets get it brother!!

yes the Green R. ranks highly but there are so many excellent rivers in the Lower 48 that the best you can do is pick ten and say collectively they are the best. And I am not even sure you could pick ten. No river is "the best."

Just got back from there a couple months ago, it was PHENOMENAL :)

The Green is awesome. Some buddies and I fished it this past May and used Gordon’s “On the Fly” as our guide service. We had an excellent three days on the water. Highly recommend Gordon and his team. We got a little excitement in our weather - snowed 10 inches our last night there!

I'd say he did a fine job Not something I would attempt but have total admiration. Even learned how to coil a 150' rope.🙂

Looks like the Wilson river. I grew up a couple miles from this river. Used to fish it when I was young. Winter steelhead.

Reminds of a spot on the Nehelem River on the Oregon coast I used to rope my drift boat down . Winter steelhead fishing was great back then

This brings back memories when I used to do this at secret lake X in the Sierra Nevadas. It would take most the day to hike the boat and gear down almost vertical down hill with huge boulders. Then we would fish and camp a few days. Amazing fishing, with some the most wild beautiful brown and rainbow trout I’ve ever caught. Knowing that only a handful of people have ever trolled on the lake with a boat was an awesome feeling. The lake is in a gorge with shear cliffs around most of it and when the wind rips the swells could reach ten feet tall. It was always an adventure. As soon as the wind picked up, you had to have exit plan. If you didn’t respect the lake it could kill at any moment. One trip I was riding 6ft swells all the to shore and had wave crashing on us as we hit the shore. I think forgot to mention this was in a little John boat with a 8 horse outboard. Wild times !
