Tribute Band-without Sly
Barry you don’t know the name of most of their songs and you just use some of the lyrics to make up a title that is wrong lol. Thanks for the video, the Grassroots were pretty big in the late 60s and early 70s.
Hey they sound like the Grassroots. Rather listen to this than the fake crappy music produced today.
The grass grandpas.
Rob Grill passed away , how many original members are left in the Grass Roots, or is this a tribute band again ??
They should be called Grassroots #2
This someone’s Class A
I am definitely saving the audio of this. What a timewarp. Wonder if Jimmy has seen these guys
They sound and play just like the early Yardbirds
A band playing some Raiders songs....
I love their music. But when I hear My Baby Does the Hanky Panky, it reminds me of when they had girlie shows at the county fairs. The women would come out front and grind on the poles to the song! This was in the middle 60’s.
You know what tribute band or not as long as you had a fun night out & it brought you back to your youth for a couple of hours then who gives a shit !!
Thanks for posting
At 81 he still sounds good and still performs all year.
No original members whatsoever = not The Grass Roots.
Awesome !
thanks for posting

Nice to see bass player Greg Smith working; he's been with Tommy James for years. But he had to leave his gig with Ted Nugent because Nugent last year retired from road tours. I've seen Greg play a dozen times, combing Nugent and Tommy James concerts.
THESE GUYS ARE NOT THE GRASS ROOTS, nice try though.
Thank you very much for sharing this great and popular singer and band 🙏🥰👌👏. A very impressive concert; they bring over so good vibrations 🙆♂️😃🤸♂️. Like #307 👍. God's blessings with you 🙌 ✨️ 😇 🕊 💖 🫂 🙋♂️.
Paul Simon wrote Red Rubber Ball
Where’d we be if it weren’t for Thomas Edison?
This singer's good, but he's slightly lacking "it". Emotion? I don't know. He's got the range for the songs, though.
For those with so much negativity no one told. You to go I think he's still great So keep your bad comments to your selves.
Not one original member.
Exactly!!!! Not one original member in this lineup!!!! I know they own the name The Vogues, so I guess they can do what ever they want. Shameful towards original members Bill, Don, Chuck and Hugh. Chuck and Hugh are the only original members left of as Bill and Don have passed on.
This is great, thank you for posting it! It obviously is a different show from what other videos are on UA-cam. It must have been a thrill for this band to have played with him, and they are really good! At 9:22 you can hear the crowd singing along to "BTBW", and at the very end on the left you can see Charlie Wolf, John's longtime tour manager.
Thanks Les
Show, adoro esta banda.
I love! The Grass Roots
Enjoyed the show but not the Four Tops anymore.
Going to see him Saturday. Woohoo! 🎉
Thanx guys. And thanx for trying hard
I grew up playing this stuff from the day it came out. I had a brother that was 8 years older and bought a lot of albums. He had all of the Steppinwolf Records. I originally started on bass at 8 and switched to guitar at 16. I went back through the years and learned some of Steppinwolf's hits and played them in my local bands. My all time favorite was Who Needs Ya. It's not an easy song to play and stay in the Groove. It's a "Story Song" about a woman that even a Biker couldn't stand having around. "Who Need's Ya?"
I would think any band traveling as "The Grass Roots" would for sure have Midnight Confessions in their set list...just very surprised these guys didn't play that song....maybe they did, and it's just not in this video...editing in...ok, they play it at the very end...just not marked in the video play separations...
Saw Yardbirds maybe 10 years ago with few different guys..... these guys are terrific!!
Young Girl, the pedo's anthem
I lived through the whole "Flower Power" era. You can believe what you want, but Gary Puckett and the Union Gap were laughed at by the "Flower Power" hippies. No one with beads and flowers in their hair would be caught dead listening to such blatantly commercial, Top 40 AM radio stuff like this. In fact, no self-respected hippie would listen to any of the acts on the cruise. None of it is "Flower Power" music; it's just the stuff that played incessantly on commercial AM radio stations during the "Flower Power" era. None of it had anything whatsoever to do with the hippie "Flower Power" movement. Like I said, any self-respecting hippie wouldn't be caught dead listening to any of this stuff.
Thanks for all your posts of the cruise. John still sounds great…….
When Susan sings this song. It melts my heart
The Crykle were on the bill when the Beatles played their final live show at Candlestick Park in San Francisco in Aug 1966.
I still think Sue is hot.
❤❤❤
Feliz ur songs will live forever God bless
The greatest performance you can see currently is Herman's Hermits with Peter Noone. I've seen him 4x the last 2 years at the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano. He is the greatest showman, and at 76. A DEFINITE MUST SEE.
`Why doesn't Tommy James sings the song" She "at the live shows he does?
The Crab Grass Roots rock!
LOVE THIS GROUP!!!! THESE GUYS ARE SO AWESOME!!!!!
Definitely not Mark Lindsay! I'm glad I didn't fall for this band. Not even a good tribute band.
No Original Members?
1 (Jerry Martini)
3 members of the Grass Roots have been with them for 40 years. They are fantastic!
