Wow! Such non believers in the comment section…. He did say he was dealing with a throat issue..from previous week. Anyhow I disagree. After seeing g him many times and when he’s on his game, not a better show/showman around.. I hope he never stops entertaining us. I’m sure he’s not doing for the money…. God bless Gary Puckett and hope to see him again soon…❤
Missed this cruise due to a NC divorce going on. But Met Gary and other members in concerts over the years. great to see them still going on. Last saw Gary in 1986 at Warner Theater, in Erie, PA...
Just go back to Ed Sullivan show clips and he would get so out there with projection of his voice, you would think he's going to fail and yet, he reached ever depth of the song or the note amazingly hard, clear, strong... NEVER saw such a powerful singer as Gary Puckett in his prime years...
Great guy with a powerful and gifted voice! This guy is so amazing and anyone who has followed his career knows the legend he is. 🎉🎉🎉 Keep singing, Gary! You are an inspiration and your voice is as beautiful as ever! ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
Thanks for the memories Gary ! You had a helluva run in the 60's. All the great music. Maybe you could host or be an ambassador, but time has taken your voice, and it may be time to call it a career.
Absolutely ridiculous comments. If you were there in the beginning with Gary you would understand how much we appreciate his music, stage presence, and singing. He will always be the greatest. When you age along with your stars you appreciate how well they perform compared to everyone else . I only wish to have his stamina, personality, good looks, and incredible talent when aI am 81. No one compares to Gary Puckett- a true American con.
Very true. It's wonderful that at their age they are still performing their great music. The negativity on this post is very sad. I spoke to Gary on the cruise, he is very friendly and open. I wish him well.
@@kathylippincott2073 thanks for posting this. When I was recording this performance, I knew immediately that his voice wasn't as good but I was thrilled to be able to talk one on one with him on the cruise. We had lunch at tables side by side and he was a delightful person to talk with. Everyone thinks our musicians should sound exactly how they did when they were on top, but like you said, as we age our voices change, some stay the same and some don't. People should just be grateful that they are still with us and that they are out there trying their best to do a show.
As Dick Clark once stated, and I experienced back in 1986 at a concert, his voice could be broadcasted to back of a theater without microphones it was that powerful!
I think his voice is still strong. He chooses to mess with phrasing and arrangements. Hes changed his style . This has been going on since the 70s . But he still brings back the memories.
Great run but man they sound bad But it is all you have if you are a fan. Being a big Gordon Lightfoot fan it was sad to see him the last five years or so live. But I still wanted to see him.
Amazing. He once said in an interview he HATED singing these songs, they had wanted to sing rock and roll not bubble gum songs. Amazing those bubble gum songs made him famous and he is still singing them because he never made it as a rock and roll singer
I lived through the whole "Flower Power" era. You can believe what you want, but Gary Puckett and the Union Gap were laughed at by the "Flower Power" hippies. No one with beads and flowers in their hair would be caught dead listening to such blatantly commercial, Top 40 AM radio stuff like this. In fact, no self-respected hippie would listen to any of the acts on the cruise. None of it is "Flower Power" music; it's just the stuff that played incessantly on commercial AM radio stations during the "Flower Power" era. None of it had anything whatsoever to do with the hippie "Flower Power" movement. Like I said, any self-respecting hippie wouldn't be caught dead listening to any of this stuff.
Only a chosen few have had the pipes that this cat had.STFW if at 81 he has lost a step or two. It's goes without saying that nobody can hold onto their voice forever. None of you that wrote nasty stuff will never have what this man had. Oh and when you are 81 do you think that you could fill a hall with adoring fans that you have entertained and been a huge part of their lives. Grow up.
Well said. All of the negative comments are terrible. We are lucky to still be able to see these famous musicians, and the 'tribute bands' where there are no more original members are keeping the music alive.
If I didn't see this I would never have believed it possible. They're still together playing the same terrible songs 50 plus years on. Talk about living in the past.
He’s doing great. Respect for being there and sounding fine. At least he’s not totally faking it like some do.
Honoring the Vet's -his heart's in the RIGHT PLACE!

Saw Gary many years ago , Happy Together Tour in Pa. didn't have quite the voice anymore, but liked his music back in the 60,s 🎶
Yes I saw that same concert in 1986 I believe it was...
I saw Gary back in '86 at Jones Beach Theatre. His voice was just as strong and powerful as it was in 1968.

His voice once so strong, smooth, & clear has, at 81, left him. Thanks for the music & memories!❤
It left him 20 years ago. I saw him in 2004 and you wouldn't think it was the same person.
@@truthhurtswilky7785 wow. And I've heard singers, like Ronnie Dunn now 70, sound every bit as good or better than when they were 30. Sad indeed.

His voice is gone. So sad. LOVED their music in the day😂
Very sad, one of my favorite groups of the late 60s.
Sad but true, but people still want to see these artists regardless while they still can
As Dick Clark once stated, and I experienced back in 1986 at a concert, his voice could be broadcasted to back of a theater without microphones it was that powerful!
The audience helps. Saw him maybe 15 years ago at Six Flags Fiesta Texas. He still had the voice. Not so much anymore
Considering he could be my father, sounds fantastic
Yes, his voice is gone unfortunately. Very sad indeed. He used to have a great voice.
We were next to Gary and his wife at lunch on the cruise, and saw them several other times
Gary still sounds GREAT !!!!

At 81 he still sounds good and still performs all year.

For those with so much negativity no one told. You to go I think he's still great So keep your bad comments to your selves.

Painful!
Either this is a bad recording or Gary has really lost his voice. Feel badly for him.
Excessive vibrato annoying at times, maybe he is trying to compensate for his deminished range.
Geez, he should at LEAST lower the key so he has half a chance at singing it better!
Kill it! Is this Puckett’s attempt at Bowie? Forget it, he should never sing again except for maybe karaoke somewhere.
Sadly, not even that.
Yr so nasty! How would you like to hear that comment about you or a family member.
He sounds horrible
Dear god, this was so bad…
Lots of flat notes! No guitar player seriously
Gary should take up another occupation anything but not singing!
If I didn't see this I would never have believed it possible. They're still together playing the same terrible songs 50 plus years on. Talk about living in the past.
his tremelo is bad
Truly awful, someone should tell him .
