Salafiyyah is not a sect its the Quran and Sunnah with the understanding of the companions رضي الله عنهم. وَالسَّابِقُونَ الْأَوَّلُونَ مِنَ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ وَالْأَنصَارِ وَالَّذِينَ اتَّبَعُوهُم بِإِحْسَانٍ رَّضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ وَرَضُوا عَنْهُ وَأَعَدَّ لَهُمْ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي تَحْتَهَا الْأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا أَبَدًا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ. And the first predecessors of the Muhajireen and Ansar, and those who followed them in righteousness, Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him, and He prepared for them gardens that flow beneath them. The rivers to abide therein forever. This is the great victory. الْيَوْمَ أَكْمَلْتُ لَكُمْ دِينَكُمْ وَأَتْمَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعْمَتِي وَرَضِيتُ لَكُمُ الْإِسْلَامَ دِينًا. Today I have perfected for you your religion and completed My blessing upon you and approved for you Islam as your religion.The last Ayah to be revealed what wasn’t aqeedah then isn’t today,anyone who leaves the Quran and Sunnah with the understanding of the companions is a sectarian and has disunited the Muslims,not the one who calls the Muslims back to the Quran and sunnah with the understanding of the salaf,may Allah guide all the muslims

Yes islam is in fact about sects. Without division there is no way to know who is upon the truth and who is not
