    19:50 Most monster parts can be broken by any old damage, but cutting tails requires slicing damage. Striking damage causes monsters to get knocked out but only when you hit them in the head with it.

    18:10 I believe the Palico is referring to the different horns that some palicos have as skills.....health horn, attack horn, armor horn etc. they blow it and then it buffs you and your allies for a short period. You can also usually craft those items yourself if you wish....and then there is also the weapon, the hunting horn, which is a big hammer that you can also use as an instrument to create buffs 😅

  • @babypool8370

    Yes. as many have said, that is the nerfed Alatreon with LESS health than a MR Great Jagras. for his escaton. just make sure you are doing enough fire/ice damage. he will fall over, and the handler will yell at you that "You are doing a good job in sealing his power" break his horn once to stop him from switching into the opposite element. If he starts in fire mode, bring ice weapon and vice versa. if you dont break his horn, he switches elements after escaton making your weapon useless for elemental damage. when he does his nova, spam ASTERA JERKY. it full heals all red health which is what escaton puts you in. if you spam it as soon as you start taking damage, AND you toppled him at least ONCE with elemental damage. then you'll live.

      I never managed to topple him so I guess a change of weapon is required but thanks for the Astera Jerky tip since I was spamming the Dust of Life that the game recommended only to die anyway LOL.

    Do enough element damage you'll hear your handler say your dealing good element damage agenst him & eat jerky when he is charging the blast and keep on eating jerky whilst it is going on good luck my fellow switch axe brother

    Wow. The rampage missions look cool.... However, this is a great chance to say, man, Monster Hunter really overloads new players with information eh?? Holy shit, it's like reading an encyclopedia....I will say that I prefer the Dark Souls approach where they give you minimal info and let you figure things out on your own 😂

    22:22 you can only cut monsters tails if they are large enough....monsters like the great baggi/izuchi/wroggi are too small to have their tail cut Also a reminder that your strike bug did not contribute to that tail cut whatsoever

    • @shoyrudw
      @shoyrudw 2 дні тому

      His first appearance in Blazing Black Twilight has way more health than it's nerfed counterpart. The Dawn's Triumph Alatreon has less health than a MR Great Jagras BBT Alatreon has a bit more than 52k health DT Alatreon has a little over 10k which is likely why you get next to no rewards for beating him

    • @PoisonousFlame-2001
      @PoisonousFlame-2001 2 дні тому

      @@shoyrudw Wow really? I thought he died quickly because he took 45 tick damage from my switch axe's elemental discharge while the real one only took 19. The only reason I got confused here was because the tutorial quest was given to me after I lost to Alatreon on my first ever attempt against him.

    There is a way to set a target on the monster for your insect to attack.....if you could set that target onto the monsters head, then you could probably get the stuns even faster... Also, whenever you get to monsters whose tails can be cut, you could use a slicing bug and target the tail.

    11:05 I actually prefer DS1's approach where warping is very limited. That goes hand in hand with the masterful map design of DS1. Later games didn't have to have great map design because players weren't expected to understand the layout - they just get to warp around. I'd love if DS4 had really tight map design and no warping at all.

    • @PoisonousFlame-2001
      @PoisonousFlame-2001 4 дні тому

      For me its a mixed opinion. On one hand I love the connectivity of the map which is very cool, but on the other hand for a completionist or someone looking for a specific item, in my case the dragon scales, it really sucks that you cannot teleport to the closest bonfire to the only place where you can farm them and you have to run everytime from either the Undead Parish or Firelink Shrine if you wish to revisit that place. The same is true for the Channeler's Trident and the Souvenir of Reprisal which is a pain in the ass. So in summary great for first time playthrough but an average inconvenience if you play the game again.

      @PoisonousFlame-2001 true! Fun fact, you can turn one of your party members into a Kappa in Final Fantasy 6, complete with armor and a weapon that only works well if you are in Kappa form

  • @erikmclennan3934
    @erikmclennan3934 5 днів тому

    If people are saying Velkhana armor plus ice weapon, that's probably a good bet.... Having ice weakness probably sucks against Alatreon but then again.....Alatreon uses all elements, so any armor is going to leave you weak somewhere.....maybe figure out what element is hitting you the most and try to resist that one.

    I really like the battle music that's been playing. Nice job on the Great Wroggi and Arzuros! Looks like you're getting better with the insect glaive and it also looks like the insect glaive can do more in midair than it could in MH 4 😮

    All in all, Sen's Fortress might be my favourite area in this entire game. I love the Onion knight that sits outside and all of the suspense that is built wondering what is in there until you ring the 2 bells...then when you finally get in, it's this hellish den of snake soldiers and traps.

    15:20 they're just starting you off with beginner large monsters....after all of the large lizards and the arzuros/lagombi stuff you'll probably move onto something more challenging. You also have an entire MH game's worth of experience under your belt now!

    The insect meter below your health bar has to do with buffs you can give yourself by using your insect attacks....as the 1 2 and 3 diamonds are filled with different colours, you get different buffs depending on the colour combo if I remember correctly......I think it may have had something to do with what part of the monster you hit with the insect but don't quote me on that, it's been a while since I used insect Glaive and MH rise probably changed some things about it too.

    • @PoisonousFlame-2001
      @PoisonousFlame-2001 9 днів тому

      I remember looking at the insects you can equip on the glaive and both of them gave health as a boost (I am not sure if that is what it meant). The only difference was the damage type they dealt so I chose the one that did strike type damage since it is one of the best damage type in souls games LMAO (and it is the best damage type in Dark Souls 2 due to everything wearing armor in that game LMAO).

    • @erikmclennan3934
      @erikmclennan3934 9 днів тому

      @PoisonousFlame-2001 if they are strike type, in theory they should be able to dizzy the monster if you hit them enough times in the head with it

  • @erikmclennan3934
    @erikmclennan3934 9 днів тому

    I guess I don't understand how mounting works in this game.....clearly there is more to it than just hitting the monster with midair attacks now.

      @PoisonousFlame-2001 9 днів тому

      From what I have played so far (I recorded 4 episodes this Sunday) the grab system of world is not present in this game......... which probably means I chose the wrong weapon LMAO but I am gonna stick to it for now anyway.
