I absolutely love the Minutemen but all of my headcanon for them keeps the Laser Musket. Game balance aside, it is hands down the greatest weapon ever. It requires no ammunition, which lightens the logistics load, and can be charged up enough to knock deathclaws and super mutants on their ass in only a couple hits.

so Minutemen becomes Regulars. rather than Regulars being formed separately as in IRL ? I don't know if naval minutemen ever exists. they're more like privateers to me.
