In today's video Boyhead and I review the WestCreek High Voltage FR electric guitar. I would consider this to be a budget friendly shred machine that's great for a beginner or a veteran musician! WestCreek has already responded to my email and are sending me a replacement button (excellent customer service). We hope you like the new intro also. Westcreek JX-50 replacement update!
Переглядів 1,1 тис.4 місяці тому
UPDATE FOR THE UPDATE Before this video was even finished uploading to UA-cam I received a reply from WestCreek (incredible). Here is what they said, Hello Dave, "Yes, the short frets is intentional. For your JX-50 guitar with round end frets, it is ok about hand up and down moving feeling on both fretboard sides, and the playing high and low E string is also ok. And I also noticed your and oth...
Westcreek JX-50 guitar unboxing and review with "demo"?

Sorry, but these bad boys are already sold out! They will be back in stock soon though so keep your eyes peeled. Forgive my lack of ability to demo this the way it deserves but I am still very much a beginner so I hope it doesn't disway you from considering one of these for yourself. Other than the few issues I pointed out (that will hopefully be fixed in my replacement) it is a great beginner ...

Not another one of THOSE reviews. WEN 3975T!
They don’t know how to fret a guitar? They’re not full length? Hard pass when Censtar and Firefly guitars are same or cheaper and have stainless steel frets. Saw this on a temu add and figured they were sketchy.
The temu ones are normally returns I'm told. This is the only model I have of theirs with frets like this. My racer and high voltage have a banded fretboard and the frets are good on them. But I definitely hear you
As a new guy to the guitar as well I appreciate the review. I've been hunting for a durable, decent sounding little practice amp for those late night inspirations, or trips out to the machine quonset when you want to try stuff out loud and driven and not scare the wife and kids.
i buy your guitar for 70 E
Did you check your mic tone? Its only on the left side!? Duuuuude blease watch your video before uploading it! otherwise its a good video
Jaja awesome man! You funny too! Thanks for the video and info! God bless! The A8 is on its way!
The kid was quiet for 90% of the video and pretty much stuck around just to support you and headbang with you. Big props to the young man 🤘🏻
He was definitely camera shy but did his best to entertain lol. He appreciated the compliment!
Review the big model the 30R can't find a sound demo at all
I've been considering reviewing that one. Possibly will soon
So something I have learned about the "mysterious" wax that was all over the body the day I received the replacement. It was wax from one of the humbuckers that had melted out due to being exposed excessive heat for too long. The day it came in is was about 104°f if I remember. I have since replaced them with a set of HO dual rail hums and man does it sound awesome!
Oh man, I just ordered one of these, was looking at it as a project but I’d really expected the neck to actually work. The yellow racer was no longer available so I figured this would work out, now I’m a bit worried 😟
The frets being how they are hasn't affected my playing personally but everyone is different. Give it a try and see how it goes. You can check Reverb and specialtytraders.com for a racer. Good luck and please let me know how it is when you get the 50.
Hi, nice video. I have just purchased my first projector. It's the Pro version of this that's just come out. D1 Pro. Got £100 off the £250 price with the coupon that's there till the end of September. So seeing your positive review of the D1 has well pleased me. It would have been good to see it in a really dark room with no ambient light because that's where I'll be using this projector. I do have to select a screen and I am looking into the best one to accommodate this. I know alr ones are best but I'm on a budget so will price them up. Just subscribed though👍
Awesome find! Thank you for the encouragement and support. I think you're gonna be happy with the outcome in no light!
Thank you god bless
Thank you, answered my questions. Thinking about getting this fuller attachment myself.
Right on. You won't regret it
I enjoyed this video a great deal. It appears that you’re on my level of knowledge and playing ability. You’ve already got the hunger to learn and the addiction to exploring new and different sounds and brands. I hope you continue to put out more videos as your journey takes place.
Thank you for the encouraging comment my brother. I definitely will!
It would be so cool to have them add a fan to go down to your back! My man works 10 hr shifts in the heat forklift driver I want to buy one for him so bad!
It actually has ports that face down for the back. Check out my Aice Lite review, I think it's a little more effective because of its shape.
I got this guitar in black. I love it. I rewired the volume pot to fix the buzz. Otherwise I think it's an amazing guitar.
Overall, I really like this guitar but there are two issues that I plan to fix. The first is the neck dive. It just needs a little more weight in the body area. I plan to fix that. The second is where they put the input jack. When sitting I like to rest the back part of the guitar on my leg (like a V) instead of the middle cut. I know it’s a preference thing but I would rather have the jack on the bottom or front of the guitar. I intend to fix that as well. Other then that, I like it.
I agree about the neck dive, maybe even changing the position of one of the strap buttons might take care of it. Surprisingly the input jack does t interfere with me while I sit. I think because the plug goes in parallel to the neck was a good decision on WC but having it on the outside would have made more sense in the first ace
One thing we did forget to show is the relatively bad neck dive. But because the guitar isn't heavy, it shouldnt effect standing to play much.
nice guitar ..the secrate to play it is to know your notes..
Totally agree. It's something I've struggled with since I started playing. Even with piano many years ago I only payed my memory
Nice review! Would you know the fretboard radius? Compound neck sounds interesting! Is it comfortable sitting in a classical position? Very carefully reviewed. Thanks!
Thank you so much for the compliment and support. I would say classical would be the only comfortable position to sit and play this body style. It's very close to a V. I neglected to mention it does have pretty bad neck dive but it's pretty light so shouldn't effect standing players too much. I don't know the radius of the fret board unfortunately. I don't have a radius gauge for that but it looks to be the same as their other models.
@@AIIZREVIEWS many thanks! Keep on rocking!
This will make it easier than trying to find my cord all the time.
Hi buddy, Here is Ritera Racoon Outdoor. This is my music channel. ;) I collect guitars. I think I'll buy the JX 50 and modify it a bit. Great review and video! greetings and support from Thuringia ...................Ritera............ !,,!
This is my first projector. I wanted a cheap one for the bedroom but it is so loud. I don't know if this is normal for these cheap projectors?
Loud in what way? Like fan noise or something else? I literally can't tell when mine is running if it weren't for the picture. Loud is Definitely not indicative of budget friendly projectors from my experience
@@AIIZREVIEWS the fans are loud and when I go into the settings and check the temperature always shows 50 degrees.
@Szymekkox I would definitely send it back for a replacement. It shouldn't be making any noise at that temperature. It's possible there might be a broken blade on the fan
Hi, I like the JX 50 . Looks good. I'm guitar player from germany. Are you a beginner on the guitar? Nice review buddy! ;) greetings from Thuringia and support Marco & Racoon
Hey, so great to meet you! Total beginner here. The jx-50 is a great guitar even with the fret issue. It's still very playable. I appreciate the support my friend!
@@AIIZREVIEWS You're welcome !,,!
I have a 50 coming soon to do a review on myself. Hope it doesn't have the same flaws. Keep it up, keep making videos😎🤙
Thanks! Good luck on the 50 🎶🎵
I’m interested
Sorry for mixing up the models duilring the final segment, they weren't the easiest to keep track of. Best of luck to all that participate in the giveaway.
The seller just vanished off Amazon before I could buy one lol I waited literally 2 weeks and now they are gone If you aren’t attatched with that thang I’d buy it from ya. I was looking for the orange one specifically Great review btw, if I saw this two weeks ago I’d have bought this
Literally cannot find this little guy anywhere lol.
Oh man, that's a little strange. I think though it's because Hibilly only that amp on sale through Amazon and once they ran out of stock finding the listing is near impossible. I'll reach out to them to see if they are going to restock the orange or any other color and let you know when they reply.
Already heard back from Hibilly. Without going into much detail, Amazon removed the listings temporarily and they should be restored by mid coming week. So keep checking!
@@AIIZREVIEWS awesome! Thanks dude
Thank you for sharing!🥰
Cool review. I like your guitar. Thanks!
Appreciate it man! Thanks!!
Do you experience blurry text around the edges of the screen? I cannot for the life of me get both the center of the image perfectly clear without sacrificing clarity around the edges.
It's not perfectly clear around the edges no. This can be attributed to a couple of things. The zoom factor; the larger the image the worse that effect can be. Keystone can also mess with the projectors ability to focus. Throw distance past the limit. It should still be readable though in most cases. Even the crazy expensive commercial projectors I've installed have these limitations. Hope this helps!
I want heat and cool !
This will do both!
How did you get a hold of Westcreek customer service!??
Assuming you ordered through Amazon or if you have a question but haven't purchased yet you can message them through Amazon. Go to one of their products and click the sold by link. Use the ask a question option but just type a random word to bypass the automated chat bot and you will be able to message them directly.
Sorry brother, but that was an unrealistic critique of a $200 beginner guitar. If it were $2,000, sure, I would nit-pick it to death as well. Just sayin'.
I'm comparing it to the several other guitars I have in that price range. Just pointing out what I saw. Thanks for commenting!
$200 is a lot of money to most of us who are looking at budget guitars, otherwise we might all buy name-brand expensive quality.
Are you sure it wasn't D size batteries? xd
What do you mean?
You can get permanent+ through prime video 📽️📽️📽️😎
You're right! I totally forgot about that. Thanks for the info
Well I received my WestCreek JX-50 Solid Body Electric Guitar, last night and there is tons of flaws. I can't believe quality control allows guitars to be sent out like this.I have over seven problems with this guitar. But what I was wondering? how did you contact them did you contact them through Amazon or their website. I can't find their email.. Thank you my friend..
I replied to your email. Thanks
Suck it up and buy a real guitar if you want to stop getting junk. You spent $230 and got a POS $230 dollar guitar. Fender and Gibson is just ok... But as someone who has gigged for many years and bought, sold and owned many guitars I have found botique builders are where the quality is at. If you buy these cheap China guitars you pretty much need to expect to put alot of work into them at least in mine and my friends experience. I bought a Chibson one time years ago and learned my lesson. It was OK but after all the work and parts I put into it I could have just bought a more reputable guitar. Save your money people and get something legit.
I disagree with your opinion. I didn't elude to the guitar being junk whatsoever. I have other low cost guitars that are fine for my skill level. I couldn't justify spending $6k-15k on a custom model without having the appropriate skills to play it how it would deserve. But thanks for viewing and commenting!
@@AIIZREVIEWS I said junk and should have chose my words better. I should have stated a guitar that really needs work to be at its best which is probably still just ok even when the work is done especially for newer players. I would probably call it junk but I don't look down or judge anyone who uses whatever they want. You can get a top notch guitar used for around $700 and up of course. Or a Squire "classic vibe" series used for maybe $300 which are fantastic guitars. Keep in mind, It would be better to have one excellent guitar rather than 2 or 3 mediocre guitars. Also, by purchasing a bit better guitar it will have a resell value which is a big thing for guitarist so you can sell something you didn't bond with or just want to try something different. These cheap China guitars won't really retain any value should you not bond with them. Also if someone does not want to continue playing (which happens alot) you can easily make most if not all your money back on a bit better guitar. That's just my perspective from someone who has gigged, owned hundreds of guitars, teaching guitar and have played for well over 30 years. A bit better guitar makes learning much easier and more fun when you play something that sounds great, stays in tune, intonation and frets and electronics are spot on and has really good feeling neck, frets and weight. Hope that makes more sense. Also, if you don't know how and don't want to learn take your guitar in to a Luthier to set it up properly which is a huge step that many beginners and even seasoned musicians often dont do. Unless you're buying an extremely expensive guitar it will not be set up properly at all. But, being that you have a few inexpensive guitars that makes a perfect candidate to learn to do this stuff on and possibly some useful content for other aspiring players. You see alot of those videos by experienced players but having it by more of a beginner or novice would be really beneficial and easier for other beginners to follow and learn. Hope this comment makes better sense to what I ultimately was trying to infer or say. Rock On!!!
@@rockrollmusicman1107 makes total sense and I agree with you 100%. I'm all about "buy once cry once mentality" usually but for the exact reason of not being 100% sure I'd stay with it I didn't feel comfortable making a large investment on a single exceptional quality guitar. I do plan to take one of them in to a tech when I find one I can trust that won't just try to upsale me on every component (which did happen). I would like to learn all I can to know how to set up my guitars properly and I watch a lot of how to videos. I think I may know enough to make them stable for me at least. A legit musician would probably shake their head at me lol. I do plan to do more guitar reviews in the future to focus on the physical quality and workmanship and stick to the things I'm familiar with. There are plenty of UA-cam musician reviewers that can demo how good they can sound for potential buyers. I appreciate all your input 🤘

I like how your beard hides the device.
About a month ago I received a Sterling by Music Man bass that was delivered in the original box but the box was ripped the entire length on the side of the box. I was definitely feeling ill seeing that. I reached in and pulled out the bag. Opened it up and it was perfect. There were 2 little blocks of cardboard in the box and that was it. The bag , which seems like more of a soft case than a gig bag sure did it's job.
I always loved pickup rings when was the guitar community brainwashed to think direct mount adds to tone? BTW direct mounted pickups as you found out are not direct mounted at all they are foam mounted and a puckup is a magnet being mounted in the wood won’t have any impact. BTW good job.
Thank you. Appreciate the clarification!
Keep Rockn! Good review!
I have the Westcreek Racer (SG) and the TT-20 (telecaster) and have to say the the construction of the Racer is much better, the neck is perfect and the fingerboard only needed slight adjustments to be perfect. but with the TT-20 I've seen the same issues you've detecting in the JX, I've read somewhere that Westcreek probably have created and ensembled these guitars in different factories, the Racer, the explorer and the Flying V seems to be much better quality than the stratos and the tele's... with the TT-20 which I love the shape and color, I had to move the truss rod and had to fix the frets using a rubber hammer to level them and avoid the buzz in some frets, now it's a proper guitar.... but not as awesome as the racer. my opinion
I love my racer. Definitely doesn't seem like a sub $200 guitar. The new high voltage line coming out seems very nice and I'm hoping it stays consistent with their pricing. That will be my next one for sure!
26th fret?
Forgot to make that correction. Only 24
So how long have you been playing?
I've been playing for about a year. I don't dedicate every day to it like I want because I tend to get discouraged pretty easily with it.
@@AIIZREVIEWSHey man you’re pretty good at reviews here but you should probably wait until you get a bit more experienced and know what you’re doing a little more before doing reviews like this just take some time with the guitar then post another review that’ll be better than ever it also confused me when I saw you having 6 guitars in your room… when you’re at this level like come on man take it easy until you’re more experienced ok?
@TheHunter77632 wow, I really wasn't expecting a response like this. I guess you missed all the parts of me saying "I'm doing this for fun", "I'm very much a novice beginner", "I'm doing this review for the experience of it", or any of that? You can always choose not to click play my friend. Respectfully, I'll continue to do me but thanks for the suggestion
@@AIIZREVIEWS wasn’t trying to be rude just saying what would be best here sorry for making you upset you do you🙌
@TheHunter77632 I wasn't taking it as rude and wasn't upset at all. What you're saying is totally legit...if I meant this to be a serious, professional review. But it wasn't. I'm not a guitar reviewer by no means. Just figured I'd do it since no one else has even as of today
Most wood mounted pickups use foam even on high dollar models. If you think about where exactly would the springs go? They would sit underneath the screw holes and they would not be stable and no spring exist to go in the center of the pickups. Springs are for the units with pickup rings.
I see. That is what pickup mounting rings are for right? My apologies for the assumptions about the foam. I feel like I should do a retraction video but there aren't that many people watching the review lol. Thank you for the clarification
Sorry to hear about your troubles. The white stripe model is better looking in my opinion.
Appreciate it. I'm torn between which one I like most. I lean towards the red also since it's my only red guitar haha
That thing is a truss rod adjustment tool. I have 5 Westcreek guitars. JX-20, JX-50, Helios, 333, and Racer.
Thank you for the confirmation!
What did WestCreek say did they exchange it for you? I imagine they would do that before offering to fix frets
I will be shooting and uploading a quick update video about that later today 😊
Nice guitar are you certain the frets are jumbo, do they feel big? I love big frets and tired of buying medium jumbos. Both color schemes are nice the white flows with the fretboard inlays.
There is nothing stating what size they actually are and comparing them to my Jackson Js22-7, the Jackson's are for sure jumbo or extra jumbo. The WC are closer to my strat frets
