So something I have learned about the "mysterious" wax that was all over the body the day I received the replacement.
It was wax from one of the humbuckers that had melted out due to being exposed excessive heat for too long.
The day it came in is was about 104°f if I remember.
I have since replaced them with a set of HO dual rail hums and man does it sound awesome!

Most wood mounted pickups use foam even on high dollar models. If you think about where exactly would the springs go? They would sit underneath the screw holes and they would not be stable and no spring exist to go in the center of the pickups. Springs are for the units with pickup rings.

I see. That is what pickup mounting rings are for right? My apologies for the assumptions about the foam. I feel like I should do a retraction video but there aren't that many people watching the review lol.
      Thank you for the clarification

About a month ago I received a Sterling by Music Man bass that was delivered in the original box but the box was ripped the entire length on the side of the box. I was definitely feeling ill seeing that. I reached in and pulled out the bag. Opened it up and it was perfect. There were 2 little blocks of cardboard in the box and that was it. The bag , which seems like more of a soft case than a gig bag sure did it's job.

How did you get a hold of Westcreek customer service!??

Assuming you ordered through Amazon or if you have a question but haven't purchased yet you can message them through Amazon.
Go to one of their products and click the sold by link. Use the ask a question option but just type a random word to bypass the automated chat bot and you will be able to message them directly.

Oh man, I just ordered one of these, was looking at it as a project but I’d really expected the neck to actually work. The yellow racer was no longer available so I figured this would work out, now I’m a bit worried 😟

The frets being how they are hasn't affected my playing personally but everyone is different. Give it a try and see how it goes.
You can check Reverb and specialtytraders.com for a racer.
Good luck and please let me know how it is when you get the 50.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. The white stripe model is better looking in my opinion.

Appreciate it. I'm torn between which one I like most. I lean towards the red also since it's my only red guitar haha

I have the Westcreek Racer (SG) and the TT-20 (telecaster) and have to say the the construction of the Racer is much better, the neck is perfect and the fingerboard only needed slight adjustments to be perfect. but with the TT-20 I've seen the same issues you've detecting in the JX, I've read somewhere that Westcreek probably have created and ensembled these guitars in different factories, the Racer, the explorer and the Flying V seems to be much better quality than the stratos and the tele's...
with the TT-20 which I love the shape and color, I had to move the truss rod and had to fix the frets using a rubber hammer to level them and avoid the buzz in some frets, now it's a proper guitar.... but not as awesome as the racer. my opinion

I love my racer. Definitely doesn't seem like a sub $200 guitar. The new high voltage line coming out seems very nice and I'm hoping it stays consistent with their pricing. That will be my next one for sure!

Suck it up and buy a real guitar if you want to stop getting junk. You spent $230 and got a POS $230 dollar guitar. Fender and Gibson is just ok... But as someone who has gigged for many years and bought, sold and owned many guitars I have found botique builders are where the quality is at. If you buy these cheap China guitars you pretty much need to expect to put alot of work into them at least in mine and my friends experience. I bought a Chibson one time years ago and learned my lesson. It was OK but after all the work and parts I put into it I could have just bought a more reputable guitar. Save your money people and get something legit.

I disagree with your opinion. I didn't elude to the guitar being junk whatsoever. I have other low cost guitars that are fine for my skill level. I couldn't justify spending $6k-15k on a custom model without having the appropriate skills to play it how it would deserve.
But thanks for viewing and commenting!

@@AIIZREVIEWS I said junk and should have chose my words better. I should have stated a guitar that really needs work to be at its best which is probably still just ok even when the work is done especially for newer players. I would probably call it junk but I don't look down or judge anyone who uses whatever they want. You can get a top notch guitar used for around $700 and up of course. Or a Squire "classic vibe" series used for maybe $300 which are fantastic guitars. Keep in mind, It would be better to have one excellent guitar rather than 2 or 3 mediocre guitars. Also, by purchasing a bit better guitar it will have a resell value which is a big thing for guitarist so you can sell something you didn't bond with or just want to try something different. These cheap China guitars won't really retain any value should you not bond with them. Also if someone does not want to continue playing (which happens alot) you can easily make most if not all your money back on a bit better guitar. That's just my perspective from someone who has gigged, owned hundreds of guitars, teaching guitar and have played for well over 30 years. A bit better guitar makes learning much easier and more fun when you play something that sounds great, stays in tune, intonation and frets and electronics are spot on and has really good feeling neck, frets and weight. Hope that makes more sense. Also, if you don't know how and don't want to learn take your guitar in to a Luthier to set it up properly which is a huge step that many beginners and even seasoned musicians often dont do. Unless you're buying an extremely expensive guitar it will not be set up properly at all. But, being that you have a few inexpensive guitars that makes a perfect candidate to learn to do this stuff on and possibly some useful content for other aspiring players. You see alot of those videos by experienced players but having it by more of a beginner or novice would be really beneficial and easier for other beginners to follow and learn. Hope this comment makes better sense to what I ultimately was trying to infer or say. Rock On!!!

@@rockrollmusicman1107 makes total sense and I agree with you 100%. I'm all about "buy once cry once mentality" usually but for the exact reason of not being 100% sure I'd stay with it I didn't feel comfortable making a large investment on a single exceptional quality guitar.
I do plan to take one of them in to a tech when I find one I can trust that won't just try to upsale me on every component (which did happen). I would like to learn all I can to know how to set up my guitars properly and I watch a lot of how to videos. I think I may know enough to make them stable for me at least. A legit musician would probably shake their head at me lol.
I do plan to do more guitar reviews in the future to focus on the physical quality and workmanship and stick to the things I'm familiar with. There are plenty of UA-cam musician reviewers that can demo how good they can sound for potential buyers.
I appreciate all your input 🤘

Sorry brother, but that was an unrealistic critique of a $200 beginner guitar. If it were $2,000, sure, I would nit-pick it to death as well. Just sayin'.

I'm comparing it to the several other guitars I have in that price range. Just pointing out what I saw.

$200 is a lot of money to most of us who are looking at budget guitars, otherwise we might all buy name-brand expensive quality.
