@@MTBs I figured they probably got slammed and are having trouble fulfilling all the orders. I think the most frustrating thing for me isn't the wait (even though we all want our new toys fast, lol). It's that I haven't been able to get a response back from their support. I've emailed numerous times with no response, which is a bit concerning. I've had more luck getting in touch with the person/people that run their IG account. Hopefully just a small bump in the road of what will be a really cool product for filming hiking and biking adventures!
Agree, a bit concerning that they don't answer you emails after the fact that they've got your money. I'm thinking they are a bit overwhelmed atm and have a huge back log.
@@MTBs Coincidentally, I just got an email this morning that DHL now has my package, so hopefully I'll have it early next week. Looking forward to playing with it.
but if they keep adding heft to it, that'll sabotage their primary advantage that got them started - pocketability. even now the Pro models are already bulkier with gimbal feeling very exposed
Thanks for the review, I've just got the PRO but without the Beacon.....and its out of stock online so I can't get it anyway but I need to know if I really need it. Is the tracking good enough for MTB without beacon in the open or the woods if not too many trees? Any thoughts, have you tried to compare? Just subcribed now I've come across your channel, thanks.
I tried tracking in the open both with and without the beacon. It works well without. In the woods it sometimes lost me and then the beacon beeps, but the drone will still aim for the beacon. When it finds my silhouette again, the tracking goes back to normal. So that's the big benefit I guess. The drone will find you again if the tracking fails. BUT, a big warning if you're riding in the woods. I crashed my drone so hard that the gimbal broke. Managed to fix it at home, but I would be very careful using it when the trees are close to the trail. Use it in the open, in jumplines e t c for instance. The drone cuts corners, and that's when accidents can happen. Test to fly without the beacon first. If it works, it works!
Did they fix the problems with the beacon? A lot of people were having issues attempting to connect the beacon to the drone. It seems like it only works 50% of the time. The drone itself is not quite ready for the public. There are a lot of issues with it. I hope they finally fixed all those problems.
Don't really know. I only know that my beacon works fine after a few updates. There were lots of bugs to start with, but now it seems to connect every time I try. It cannot connect if you try to connect the drone with the phone at the same time.
I have Max Pro Ski Combo. If i use the beacon, can i set the drone manually higher, lets say 30 meters (behind, on the side, in front of me) and make it follow me (the beacon) from that distance. And if so, how do i do it? Can you send me the link to a video instruction?
I haven't tested that actually. But there are some settings in each mode (follow, dolly, side track) where you set the distance and altitude before you start the flight. That can be done either with the app or with the buttons on the drone without the need for the app, which is great.
Haven't tested skiing, but at over 45 km/h the drone will climb a bit and will not follow at the desired altitude (see my speed test). When skiing the speed is often over 45 km/h, but for casual skiing at lower speeds it will probably work well.
Great review! Thanks. I'll wait to get the Pro as a X1 & Neo owner. I love my X1 since it fits in my jersey pocket no problem.
Great review!!
Thank you (1972 was a great year)!
Really cool!
Can't wait to get mine. Ordered directly from HoverAir website but it's been over a week now and it still hasn't shipped. :-(
I guess they sold a lot of drones during black week and are currently low on stock. Hope it works out for you!

Really like this model drone, but I don’t think we’re there yet when it comes to true crash 💥 avoidance. Maybe in 3-5 years
It works best in the open.

Thanks for the sub, btw!

@@MTBs yes but that is too close.. the do advertise it as a selfie camera, not as a drone... ok thank you.
@@ktm640lc4BGD Alright, I'll have to try and see for myself. I understand that would be desirable when skiing.
Does it work skiing? Nobody has tested it skiing at normal speed except hover themselves which needs to be backed up by other footage

someone wants to sell me your beacon? they are never in stock to buy/
