I won't be riding a Fox fork again, unless they solve the creaking issues, not nice to have an expensive fork that creaks in few months, like it's snapping in half and you ride on twigs. I had a Fox Factory 36, but I see 38 creaked too, but I don't know how the current models do. Currently using EXT ERA, so far no creaking, the fox would have creaked already.
Yes, I've read a lot of complaints about those in different forums. Overly complicated design, but once you know how they work they are really easy to use. Check SickBiker's video: ua-cam.com/video/TuaHMtFWRS8/v-deo.html
@@kruschrhoades that is precisely my hang up with them too. For my whole life I've associated SR Suntour with department store bikes. I'm willing to give it a try but it would have to be a better financial deal than RS and I would need to ride it for myself on a demo bike a few times. I am currently switching from a Rockshox Boxxer fork to a Manitou Dorado Pro ... Manitou being another brand I was apprehensive about for years.
did you ever saw a fork explode? yes, this will happens if you buy a cheap fork. why? because they did not test it extensively by pro's properly, THATS WHY ITS CHEAP a old lady bike shop does highend downhill forks now? oh boy, idk if i would trust their experience nor the qualitymanagement and if they really think they can charge a american premium price for this i would just not trust this company ever
Suntour/DVO make easy to service suspension. I like the smoother DVO bladder system over suntour floating piston. Both are manufactured by Suntour.
A durolux 36 is 652,- on bike discount, an equivalent rockshox lyrik ultimate costs almost the same, so definitely not 25-40% cheaper

I haven't experienced much creaking from Fox components, but I know others that have. EXT, the fancy stuff. Love it!
Replacement parts, where you at?
Where are you at? 😊 Where do you live?
i wanted one but the zeb ultimate 29 charger 3 was cheaper for 700 euro :)
Great deals on any fork to be had nowadays!
Very interesting with another actor on the premium market.
Yes! These "new" forks are not brand new, but Suntour is since a few years making way into the more premium MTB market.
@@MTBs sure, the brand itself is well known, but only from the entry level market. I will check them out.
What killed their forks for me is the q-loc axle. Such an unnecessary system for something that should be a simple screw-in axle.

I have a hard time associating "premium" with suntour.

@spencer9190 exactly. I also wonder about availability of service parts. At least the Dorado has a solid legacy and the tech support to back it up.
I've used my Suntour Auron in the dry, mud & rainy conditions. Never had a problem with the q-lock system. Easty to install and remove.

From what I've heard it's the FOX X2's that keep exploding. ;)
ask cane creek about exploding they are pro at it
I guess you should start using fixed fork, mate. cause rockshox have issues too with snapped stsnchion.
