Space Marine 2 Is AWESOME [Review]
I remember Space Marine 1 fondly, it was a game where I just went in killed some orks, had a lot of fun and then moved on, so I was really excited when Space Marine 2 was announced and then I was hype when they said they were gonna do live service with only cosmetic microtransactions. This game is the recipe I wish all live service games would follow, Respect the gamer's time and money and most importantly focus on making the game fun, thats what Space Marine 2 does, aside from a few issues.

    the thing in valheim is, there are so many hidden or unrecognized mechanics, that will make your jouney much better. for example the rested buff (that should be on all the time). Than there is the fact that you actually dont need that much metal, cause you could go for light armor or the spear (wich is always the budget weapon). Than you dont need to carry your orbs all the way to your base. In my first playtrough i already did from the start, build a new base in every biome, or near it. In summary i think valheim is great game for what it is: a problem solving cozy game, that focuses on PLANING. I never played souls games before valheim, i barely played minecraft or other survival crafting games. In fact started valheim like 1 months after getting my first capable pc. So i think it helps alot, being not preocupied by other games, so you dont make the most mistakes you can make in valheim: making you die or frustated. Living in ignorance of the game mechanics.

    I really enjoyed this video! I was looking for something like this, and you absolutely delivered. Thank you for making and sharing it-I found it very valuable. I’ve decided to quit progressing in *Valheim* for the obvious reason: it’s a massive time sink. The more time I invested in the game, the less fun I was having, especially with how frustrating it was every time I died-which, by the way, was *a lot*. It felt like a huge waste of time. Thankfully, the developers have given us the option to mod the game now. Boosting enemy drop rates by 3x and increasing resource collection have been lifesavers in many cases. You can pretty much modify a lot of aspects in the base game now. However, I’m stuck in limbo because of the warning on the main menu: "Altering this will diminish the experience as it was intended." I tried to figure out what they meant, but honestly, this video summed it up perfectly. Holy crap, what a waste of time this game can be. Using God mode and enabling 1% stamina drain completely defeats the purpose of grinding for better armor, food, etc. I also tried the Fly cheat you mentioned, and while it was fun at first, it made me realize just how absurdly massive the map is. Traversing all that land and sea is unbelievably tedious. The world is repetitive, visually underwhelming, and the grind is comparable to a full-time job. Ugh. I probably won’t play *Valheim* again. What a letdown. The early game had promise, but it became so mind-numbingly boring and repetitive. If you want a different experience, I recommend setting the game to Easy-at the very least. Better yet, make everything as easy as possible and adjust to your liking. Best of luck to any new players who find this comment (buried deep in the crypt of the UA-cam algorithm, much like the game’s grind). Take care of yourself before diving into *Valheim*, because "Val" means "fall" in my language, and fall you will-into an endless, grindy abyss with little reward. Maybe it’s different with friends or a big group, but solo? It’s been hell. Salute, and thank you for your efforts! **TL;DR:** *Valheim* solo is like working a full-time job where you die a lot, the map is comically massive, and the grind is endless. God mode and flying just make you realize how bad it is. Play on Easy, save your sanity.

    • @CinderSnake
      @CinderSnake Місяць тому

      "Traversing all that land and sea is unbelievably tedious." I think this is the crux of the issue, so I think they want the game to be this slow grind game with lots of travelling between places so every journey for a new resource is an adventure but there is no adventure, just a long and boring road trip and if you are journeying to get some resources for a new tier of gear, well then that long tedious journey only has the destination of you getting your ass slapped around and you getting angry at your stamina bar. There is no adventure because there isn't really much to look at and there is nothing more worthwhile than the destination.

    As far as I recall, S2 Games was making great games but were plagued with bad business decisions. By HoN, I knew what would happen : Step 1 : Release the game as pay to play Step 2 : Wait for the game to be released as freeware then play it for free. Another thing to know is that when HoN released, it was the closest thing to DotA. DotA players would still step away from League of legends and play HoN instead. Nobody knew at the time that Dota 2 would happen, but yes, would we have known, it would have been logical for DotA players to leave HoN for Dota 2.

    I remember playing this as a kid with my twin brother in elementary school and we probably gave up and picked up this game at least 15 times before we finally beat it over the course of several years. As we got into high school, we decided to pick it back up and plug in the old ps2 to see if we could do it, and over the course of several frustrating weekends we finally beat the game. In the base game definitely, but in my opinion, the game loses a lot of its luster after a playthrough. Most items you find are either useless or just random crafting materials. I also can't really agree how the players movement feels good. The combat after Bloodborne and Sekiro felt like a major downgrade. The PC still moves like a Dark Souls guy while the bosses can do whatever they want.

    Dude you haven’t dodged anything properly in all your clips. The game wants you to stop running away and roll into stuff. If your mentality is that you have to back roll and side roll away from stuff then you’re not going to win Radahn. You just face tanked everything with sometimes raising your shield. Listen, people are winning Radahn hitless. So that says something. Nothing is “undodgeable”

    • @CinderSnake
      @CinderSnake 3 місяці тому

      The point was never that it was undodgeable, I know you can dodge the attacks, the point is that dodging 7 times to hit the boss once isn't very fun.

      @doomguy8235 3 місяці тому

      @@CinderSnake I get what you mean. But if it was turn based just like in demon souls (as you put it) where the boss takes a turn followed by the player it becomes boring. They did it I their previous games and the fights became trivial too quickly. I think learning boss combos and how to deal with them is part of what makes things like Sekiro and Elden ring fun. Where when you’re always on your toes, dealing with unpredictable mechanics and moves that force you to play reactively sometimes and sometimes aggressively. Defensive playstyles where you hide behind a shield to block all of the boss moves makes all the mechanics and moves meaningless if you can just outright negate them all by raising your shield.

    • @CinderSnake
      @CinderSnake 3 місяці тому

      @@doomguy8235 You're right and for almost every other boss in the game I didn't change my build or anything I just reacted to the boss and learned how to take advantage of their moves, which was fun but for Radahn the windows of opportunity were too small and failure punished very heavily, he's relentless and throws a lot of moves at you at once and that makes him difficult to get a handle on more so than any other boss. I will say that I did make him harder than he would be by taking the summons with me, it gives him more health at least and maybe if I hadn't been taking summons with me he wouldn't have taken as long. I wouldn't say that the shield tank build is meaningless, it's a different playstyle, probably more on the rpg number crunching min-max side of the game, buildcrafting to create the greatest advantage you could get, it's not really my thing but it was a little fun being the immovable object to Radahn's unstoppable force.

Don't get the xlr/usb combo if you aren't gonna use the usb option, the xlr port is supposed to be worse on the combo compared to the pure xlr. For audio interface, the Scarlett 2i2 looks good and is good and they sell a bundle with a decent microphone, I'd still recommend the mv7 over that mic. Before you do all that it's probably good to experiment with stuff like VSTHost and plugins to see if you can make the mic's sound better and using a virtual audio cable, this will mean the audio from you will become slightly delayed and probably lead to you accidentally interrupting each other. There are youtube tutorials to make mics sound good with compressors but I don't like that at this point, I just use a de-esser and a de-clicker. Then theres just getting the right audio balancing and editing, just keep tinkering with it and looking for improvement that's what I do but getting that from multiple people in multiple locations is a lot harder. As for the video itself, I like it, I think your almost podcast style of review has a lot of potential, good value in getting opinions from 3 people at once, the audio wasn't too bad, I did hear some buzzing from 1 of you but an xlr would probably clear that up. Also be sure to check multiple places with this stuff I'm just some guy who likes this as a hobby, this is just stuff that I think has worked for me.

    This has to be one of the best reviews with the most balances opinions I've seen. "Fromsofts difficult reputation is like a chain around their ankles." So true. I too started Dark Souls 1 because of their difficult reputation, but I fell in love with that game for other reason. It was the world and challenge of preserving that kept me going forward. But with each game I've found the focus change to difficulty more and more to fit in with their reputation. Bosses have become basically the main point, when to me they never were supposed to be. Just something to complete a zone or area. In that way I feel they've lost themselves in the sauce of difficulty. "Elden Ring really makes you feel like your killing gods" This is also so true! Every major fight in Elden Ring makes you feel like you are beating an incredible foe. All the spectacle and pazzaz truly makes each fight feel on a league of it's own. Like when I saw Metyr do the beam attack, I was just awed by how cool it looked. I really hope Fromsoft tries to free themself from their shackle of difficulty and try to make something with the main goal of being challenging again, not difficulty.

      Thank you! The challenge is why I like Armored Core 6 and Sekiro so much, those games had a more narrow set of playstyles and because of that they were able to make more fair and challenging games, I hope their next game is more in that direction.

      Jesus, that's way too much money for a phone game, with that money you could've probably bought a physical 40k miniature army.

    Giving you the benefit of the doubt, I should find your flat-earth quip amusing, but in 2024, the fact that people still believe in a flat-earth despite the ridiculous amount of both highly technical and highly conventional methods to disprove it, is at best extremely depressing. It's sad that, as a species, we seem to be so prone to fear, paranoia, and irrational thought.

    Well touched points. When it first came out it was probably ground breaking, especially if you never got out of meadows biome. But now xx years later in 2024, the dated design really shows. So much tedium and padding. You need mods to +craft from boxes +inc walk speed and reduce stamina usage +inc inventory size +use equipment when swimming +select any portal from a list +inc game gamma +remove all that disgusting dust from hoes and planting that make it impossible to see...Modded is great game, but the killer is the performance. Running it with more than 1 person expect some serious performance problems.
