Buy a Used Auto in Laos? | Think Again! | Buyer Beware!
Laos is small population and is not crowded! Retirement in Laos 🇱🇦 is for me ! 👍
You’re right about the crowds…compared to surrounding countries it’s still relatively less congested.
I like the cool dry winter in northern Laos. It's not too cold. It's not too hot. It's perfect. But Laos is 45 years behind its neighbors. Most of the roads outside Vientiane are primitive. Outside the capital, you have dirt roads. Dirt roads are for horses and elephants. You need concrete roads. Concrete roads are for automobiles. If you have a fire emergency or medical emergency, nobody is coming to save you. The ambulance and fire trucks are only available in Vientiane. The high speed internet is faster in the capital. But outside the capital, it's slow.
Good points. Healthcare response is an item to be mindful of.
I do hope Laos economy and infrastructure improves! 🙏 Nice video! 👍
Nice video Javier! I agree that Laos is a hidden Gem! You forgot to mention they have coffee that rivals Kona coffee! ☕😊
Don’t know how I forgot the coffee. It’s my favorite!
Great info! 👍
🙏
Government of Laos is communist….they will make you leave the country and take your land
🤔 Thanks for sharing your perspective.
Don’t waste your money …don’t trust anyone in this country
🤔 Thanks for sharing your experience.
Couldn't wait but only two years and half to go for retirement at 55
It will come before you know it!
I think you should wait until you're 67 years old. Laos is 45 years behind its neighbors in terms of development. Medical care is not world class like in the USA, Japan, or Thailand. Most of the roads outside Vientiane are primitive. Outside the capital, you will be driving on dirt roads not paved roads.
I don't mind watching snails all day. It's better than breaking my back in a job I don't like.
Slowing down to appreciate life.
How do you purchase a property in Laos, your first question is No.
Officially only Lao citizens can hold land owner rights and title (Gold Paper). Most expats enter into agreements with family/Lao citizens or there are land lease options available depending on the property. Here’s a video that shows condo options with lease arrangements, as another option: ua-cam.com/video/7IEjWM4OTqY/v-deo.htmlsi=Wo9492LHA0tCgO6Y
Beautiful sunrise
Is it possible we foreigner can buy Property in Laos ? I'm from Laos but now I live in America.

Can you trust the communist government? I don't trust the communist and never invest in this hostile country.
🤔 Everyone has a different experience. Thanks for sharing your opinion.
What long term visa are you using or how do you stay in Laos long term ? I’m a US citizen planning on potentially living in Laos
LA-B2 is the most straightforward option for long term visa. You can get a 3,6, or 12-month visa with a stay permit and with or without a work permit (depending on whether you have a company sponsor). There are many agencies that can process the long term visa for you…we can give our recommendation if you’re interested.
Looks very slow
Haha, at a snail’s pace….
you must be a sell man
No, but maybe I missed my calling.
Много красиво!👏👏👏👏👏👏👍🙂❤️

Why not buy rocks and gravel?
That’s another option…we were targeting a lower cost option. Good idea!
BEAUTIFUL LAOS !

hello my name is Don from Tennessee i had watch your video. I would love to move to laos when I retire.
Laos is a beautiful country with friendly people and delicious food.

Laos is landlocked. They have to be very good to overcome this obstacle. How Laos find money to build infrastructure? Selling electricity from dams to neighbor countries seem limit. China control the amount of water to reach the dams. Tourism without beachs is hard. Just my honest opinion.
All good points. Thanks for sharing!
You totally over dramatized the UXO. You are making it sounding like the UXO is everywhere and that it could explode any time now. The UXO is in the far flung of the country, in the jungles, near the Vietnamese border and only the Vietnamese and its collaborators live there. It is NOT the reason why Laos is under developing. The reasons Laos is under developing are: 1. Government corruptions. 2. Lao people party too much and don't take works seriously. 3. They are playing games with outside world "Help me" and when they got help in the form of donations, the ones in powers take them all and people remain poor. 4. Lao people are known to be sort of lazy. When I plant vegetables my neighbors always come ask for them free; they don't want to plant the vegetable themselves. 5. Lao people already figured that out "Just ask other to help so that you don't have to work too hard yourself". They also figured it out that there is NO futures in Laos and basically, just live day by day. Worry about nothing.
🤔
Looking at the big picture.. 5 to 10 yrs. LAOS will be more touristy...As LAOS develope people will move in.. Don't forget LAOS and Vietnam train is also underway...And LAOS now started growing rice and export to US.
Good point on the Lao Vietnam train. Once that is completed, it should open up more trade just as the current train is doing. Thanks for sharing!
Just give Laos some time to develop. It takes patience. The roads are primitive.
Yes you’re right. Lots of things to look forward to!
I’m in Laos 7monht back to work in USA 5monht
Nice balance! Hopefully you’re back in Lao during the nice time of the year.
nice video. yes in korea the buses have middle lane intermediaries. it was pretty efficient in korea hope they can run it right in Lao it should help out a lot if done properly. I believe its also going to be electric buses in laos.
Big transition to electric in Laos…great to see work being done to set the infrastructure up for growth. Thanks for sharing!
Good analysis. yes Laos has not been dealt with the good cards but I believe there are more positives than negatives. as far as history goes this is probably the first time Laos has seen a united country since the last maybe 150 years. We have to remember even before the french came, the country was broken (even fighting one another ) into 3-4 different kingdoms, then was annexed by siam, looted by the haw bandits from china, became a french colony and then the civil war/vietnam war occurred. this all happened consecutively with no breaks so it is even a miracle Lao is still standing. Laos is literally rebuilding from ashes reclaiming our identity/culture and history and now the future. I think that these are some reasons why Laos is off to a slow start and as you mentioned geography is huge issue but i think the future is looking much much better than the past 100 years. thanks!
Thank you for the education. Good reasons to feel encouraged for the future!
There's too much Chinese investment in real estate. That whole Beung That Luang complex will FAIL big time! Just look at all the "ghost cities" throughout China - there's roughly over 50 cities China's real estate developers built and they all turned out empty and abandoned! Look at the Chinese investment to build a city "Forest City" to be exact, in Malaysia. No investors came and that's now pretty much a "ghost city!" That cost over $100 billion USD! Laotians earn what $2500 per year? The vast majority of Laotians will not be able to afford that those luxury condos or apartments in Beung That Luang! Foreign investors or retirees will not be buying there either because it has no infrastructure to support, certainly those working will not be earning enough!
That Luang is an interesting area. Thanks for sharing.
Corrupted government selling their people out for highest bidders to China. Lack of education is biggest
Good point on the education. Lots of opportunity to improve. Thanks for sharing.
I love Lao slow life. I'm very tired of big cities and fast life. I will definitely retire in Laos. But I will have to fly back and forth between the USA and LAOS. Maybe every 4-6 months or twice a year. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
That sounds like a great plan!
Sabaidee sister. My parents have already move back to Laos when they retire in 2018. They love it. They don't have to worry about crime like in the USA.
@@LaoSoftware Thank you, dear. I also have some relatives move back to Laos since 2018. They are from Europe (France). They built their own house with 3 bedrooms and 3 baths in Vientiane, and they love it as well. Laos is very peaceful and quiet. Their children and grandkids visit them almost every year.
Same here. Take me with you 😄i am living in the US, San Francisco right now. I will have to go back and forth too. Maybe twice a year?

Not a big fan of burning season, look at LA right now the city is on fire 🔥
The air is getting thick already!
This is what I’m calling eating good and healthy food
Good way to start the New Year!
Yea I rather choose the 100 per month then the luxury
Lots of options!
Ive made two border runs from Thailand. Im in rice country but love mountains. I enjoyed the trip north to the town in the mountains.
The mountains can be quite scenic!
Hello from USA my husband side from Lao Mongkong barn donson I been there 3 times been and i bought a foods there Sharge me more than people living in Lao
Thanks for watching!
I'm happy to see you want to retired in my motherland. Maybe some day I'll do the same. My family is from Phon Hong.
Great area! Laos is a wonderful country!
The Golden Rules for all who wish to retire anywhere in the world: 1. Live in country for at least 1/2 year: In Laos 3 months in the hot season (very hot, dusty and extremely poor air quality) and 3 months in the rainy season (flooding, mud mud mud) 2. Never invest more money than you can comfortably!! afford to lose. 3. Check medical facilities 4. Do your research !!! Do your research !!! As far as buying land parcels in "developments" - don't. The Lao backwoods are dotted with these grandiose schemes that never got developed or built. There is no city water or electricity, no shade trees, the land may not even be owned by the vendor. Stay at least 2 years in country before even thinking of long term leasing or buying property (that you can never own).
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
It dose looks like 🇮🇹 Italy
Was pretty tasty, too!
l
Thanks for watching.
Thank video Sabaidee
🙏 🙏
I like Cafe Vanille but I haven't try the one your at. If u like Larb duck or Larb blood duck I recommend Anna Duck Grill, they have other varieties of authentic Lao food and its very delicious to my opinion lol 🍻
I will have to check them out! We love Larb Phet!
thanks for the video! In the States we have title companies to verify ownership and determine / payoff any liens and taxes. In Laos , is there something similar?
In every transaction, the land title (also called Gold Paper) should be verified and transferred at the local provincial or district Land Management Authority office. Annual taxes are also administered through these local offices. Property registration is decentralized (approved through local village/district) so that can make things more challenging. This tends to be the most complicated and time intensive part of the process. Patience and having someone you trust to guide you through the process is key!
@@retire_recharge_roam - thank you so much for your detailed answers! is the sale contract a common form or is it individually written up?
@@khanchan6301 I believe there's a common form from the land management office...but like anything, the agreement at the village level will be unique (and have village-level stamps). So yes (and no)! The other complexity is whether you're working with a broker (most common) or directly with the owner.
$2 mommasan you likey me ❤

Nice video.
Yes, building a home in Phonhong, Laos. Excited about moving to Laos from Washington State. A more relaxed, easy life in Laos.
@@charlesmcdonald8654 Moving from WA State? Should feel right at home during the rainy season! The relaxed easy life of Lao is the way to go.
Cool, my grandparents are in Phon Hong. Still love relatives there.
