My list 12. Megaman 1. Lack of passwords and guts man's stage kill this one for me. 11. Megaman 11. I never played it and only list it to illustrate my distaste for megaman 1. 10. Megaman 8. Far too easy, and that voice acting. 9. Megaman and Bass. The first game where you can play as Bass. There's a lot to like here. But it's pretty hard overall. 8. Megaman 9, Brutally difficult and the slide was removed for no reason. 7. Megaman 10, less difficult than 9, but the slide is gone again. 6. Megaman 5, the easiest of the Nes games, a lot to like about it though with massive explorable stages. 5. Megaman 2. I agree the turret room is a horrid boss. And it's pretty easy with a lot to like. But Quick man's stage. Those Lasers... 4. Megaman 4. A harmless entry, fairly easy. First time you get the buster. A lot to like. 3. Megaman 7. Beautiful graphics, tough gameplay, lots of personality. 2. Megaman 6, my first taste of megaman on nes after watching the ruby spears cartoon as a kid, really cool bosses, and the master powers are universally useful. 1. Megaman 3, the game in the series i gravitate to more often than not, with a solid roster of bosses, good abilities, and creative stages. And that music. Homie.😂 I'd be remiss if I didn't mention it brings in the slide,

I would've never made a Sigma & Colonel Kurtz connection on my own, but now I'll never be able to separate the two.

Everyone has their own opinion. Mega Man 9 and 10 are arguably the hardest. To put 9 at the top is quite odd. I liked 9 and 10 but personally neither should be anywhere near the top 3. Between design, soundtrack, and nostalgia, MM3 and MM4 are top 3 in my book. Personally I dont care for MM2 but for everyone else, it deserves to be in the top. 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 all have been very popular or underrated games with added features that rose the height of the series and thus feel they deserve to be top of the list.

I just knew that 4 and 9 would be high up. And 8 being the in last place is not at all surprising.

to me this is a better game than X2 for the main reason of, you have to utilize playing as Zero in every level strategically. so the levels are longer, harder all have mini bosses + might have byte or bite, so it a long level to lose all your energy but using zero gets you through one of those with full health and later as X upgrades zero has slower mechanics. all in all, I thought it was a hard game my entire childhood, teenage hood, 20s with the x collections etc, x legacy collection is the first time I played X3 while consistently using zero and I found It such a greater experience. almost like id been playing the entire game wrong my whole life and the purpose of the long stages is to switch out zero in every single level

Just got the platinum trophy-achievement for that one today. Definitively not a big fan of this one. Mega Man 11 doesn’t feel right. This does not play like a mega man. It’s a very well-made game sure, the bosses and weapons are cool. But it doesn’t feel right with that double gear system, ultra long stages, armor enemies at every corner, and the amount of currency dropped to use at the shop. This is not Mega Man and i am very glad that we didn’t get another one of this kind yet. Mega Man 9 is the greatest game ever made and we not getting another one :/

Mega Man X vile robot blast Zero

Yeah, Mega Man X6 ruined Christmas 2001 (I think). I was so excited for the game, then it was like, the same 3 enemies in the entire game, and it turned into a scavenger hunt in order to advance, too many stupid gimmicks and also, High Max is invincible and accessible to face way too early, that's bull and just, so bad as a casual gamer. I made it to the wily area and the spike wall, just ugh, nope. I actually quit and never beat this until the Mega Man X collection came out and I forced myself to beat X6. I haven't since and that was like 15+ years ago. Mega Man Xtreme 2 is actually a pretty good game all things considered. I'd agree that the first stage of mmx6 is probably the best part of the game. At least Alia isn't forced and stopping you ever 2 seconds. The Zero games impliment the soul/cyber elf stuff MUCH better than x6. Great job with this stuff. This is one of those "You gotta watch the speed run" to truly understand why people love this game. It has tons of broken mechanics that make playing it easier. Zero has infinite I-frames if you do some glitch and more stuff.

You've done a great job with the series so far. But like, the X vs Zero theme is awesome and you kind of ignore that fact and say there's nothign special about the stage or moment, ya know? Also I guess the pinned comment is valid too. Otherwise, yeah, I pretty much agree with what you said about this game, I've only beaten this one like, 3 times? 4 times?

I was mostly with you until I realized you hadn't placed Mega Man 7 until... you placed Mega Man 7. If ever there was a bad Mega Man game, Mega Man 7 is it. Too zoomed. Too slow. Too annoying. More or less spot on with the rest though. I'd put Mega Man 11 on top personally. I know it has a little less content, but damn does it have the best boss weapons by far and the double gear mechanic is freakin' awesome once you are used to it. I'd also put Mega Man 4 above Mega Man 9, but that's because Mega Man 9 took my god damn slide away.

I have a theory, I think that Mega Man grew in Mega Man 7, because the plot is a bit more mature, even though it’s rated E, Mega Man is older in Mega Man 7 and on.

The biggest thing holding X2 back is that the weapons just kinda suck and most of them are too situational. Sure the buster makes up for it...but its so good that it kinda trivializes the game, like why bother even using weaknesses when it gives the bosses a 5 second cool down and resets their AI, when spamming double charge shots does just as much damage without breaking the pace of the fight. Also the music just isn't as strong, its good in its own right but none of the tracks hold a candle to spark mandril or kuwanger.

Mega Man 2 is my favorite game of all time, and that includes Super Nintendo and PlayStation games. (I haven't owned a modern system in years).

This is not only the best mega man in the series but the greatest video game ever made to me. And I beat the whole game in one sitting without taking damage. I uploaded the gameplay here in my youtube user if anyone is interested to watch this kind of challenge ;)

I personally believe that Sigma's design is inspired by Braiking Boss, the villain from the old anime Casshern. Both characters rebel against humans and they're bald.
