Are u a racist or something? Plecos behave the same way as Chinese algae eaters as they grow and even attack fishes but you single it out

Bladder snails get a bad rap. Whilst they are not the best-looking, and can reproduce quickly, they do benefit an aquarium. They eat algea and other detritus, so are part of the clean up crew. Whilst they will come up to the waterline to breathe, they aren't escape artists like other snails. They can be easily harvested to provide food to fish in other tanks, and manual removal during weekly water changes helps keep their numbers down ( as does not overfeeding!). Another major plus is that being regularly removed to control numbers, none are likely to die in the tank of old age and cause an ammonia bomb to go off. More pluses than minuses in my book.

I’ve got 4 Chinese algae eaters… the close main three pet stores only had them & plecos but the plecos are like special breeds and are being sold from $30-300 so we went with $2 per algae eaters 🙃 I wish they would’ve had the flying foxes

Outstanding video for people, considering African cichlids I think my only caveat from experience would be that, in my opinion, peacocks are way more aggressive than in Buna. The Luna only protect their little area, whereas the peacocks have been so hybridized that they can be quite aggressive and Murderous for lack of a better word. Also, it might be good to note that Aquarium sizes very important with your Africans, as well as plenty of good filtration. But, this was a great video!🐠🦯

@ 0.45 seconds, 5:40 that's my fish. @6:38 you have it labeled as L191 and should be L091 Three Beacon Pleco. DATZ created the L-number system, not AquaLog. The L056 is not a Chubby pleco. The L056 does not change colors. What you have is a Parancistrus aurantiacus, they change colors. Neither of these fish share the same L number, nor are they even the same species. The L056 is not in the trade and the name is Pseudancistrus sp. (L056) Black Gudgeon Pleco. The Parancistrus aurantiacus does not have an L#. The gold color comes and goes on the Parancistrus aurantiacus and the price is no different if bred in captivity or not. Only a handful have been bred in captivity and it's not enough to supply the fish hobby. The L102 and L201 are 2 totally different fish. The L102 get around 7" and the L201 around 5". The L201 is not also called the Inspector Pleco, the L201 is the Orinoco Angel Pleco. All plecos do not "need" driftwood. Many rivers in SA have no driftwood present but yet are homes to many species of pleco. The Adonis will reach approx. 40", not 24" and adult Adonis are jet black, some will turn jet black around the 12" - 18" mark, each one will be different. You simply need CITES to bring in L046s and they are just as durable if not more durable than the wild caught Zebras. You can definitely tell male from female L046s once they reach maturity. Captive bred L046's are a dime a dozen in our trade but still have that $90-100 per inch tag. L027 are not rare. Broken Line Royal Pleco is a L190. Several of the Royal Plecos can have stripes, broken stripes, spots, etc. but that is not the correct way to ID the species. There are no plecos native to Trinidad so to say they are native to Trinidad is incorrect. They are from South America. What you are holding is most likely Pterygoplichthys pardalis, the most common pleco sold in the hobby. Sometimes you need to verify by looking at the stomach pattern on this species and a couple others to be 100% sure such as this and the Pterygoplichthys disjunctivus. They also don't come close to 36".

My favorite algae eater is the Farlowella aka twig fish. They do a great job with cleaning a tank.

Gravel is not a good substrate for any corydora at it damages their barbels 😢

Feeding ox heart to discus is not to be recommended. Compared to natural live foods, it is richer in saturated fats, which the discus do not completely digest. This leads to digestive upsets and health problems later on. Research has shown that in nature, discus feed mainly on vegetation and only feed on animal matter after the rains when live foods become more abundant. Ox heart accelerates fish growth but also contributes to fat accumulation in the organs, especially the liver, because the fish don't expend energy foraging for food or evading predators. Hence, the excess calories are stored. In the discus that I autopsied in the 70s, liver failure was a common cause of death, as were ulcerations in the gut due to heavy infestations of parasites.

For that money, I wouldn't put it on a tank with any curves that warp the view & cause weird glares.
