“Don’t know how often I’ll be stroking my walls like…”
I like to try out the products I sell so when we decided to redecorate last August (I’m a bit late sharing these video’s 🙈) I wanted to utilise the @duluxheritage Velvet Matt and we opted for the colour ‘Ancient Sandstone’
Coverage wise we were really impressed. We had one really deep blue wall which we did a third coat on just to be sure nothing was grinning through but the other walls covered in two coats. It was really nice to work with, we added a dash of water to help the flow a little and we didn’t suffer from much splattering (although I’ll credit my trusty @axusdecor silk touch roller with that too!).
Finish wise it really is a beautiful flat matt. We joked about how often we’ll be stroking the walls to get the velvet texture but I feel like in reality their naming of the paint is more about the nice visual flatness of the walls over how they feel under touch 😂 . It’s been 9 months and we’ve had a few guests sleepover in there and it’s proving durable (it’s got its class 1 scrub rating) but it is a guest bedroom so it’s not getting as much welly as other rooms in the house (but I do feel confident in being able to keep it clean!)
So it’s a yes from me on the would recommend pile, we have colour charts available on the website if you want to browse their heritage colours or it can also be used as a colour match product if you’re wanting a colour not available on the heritage chart!
Any questions fire them over and next time I decorate I’ll make sure I share the videos a little quicker 😂😅

Neutral Paint Shade Recommendations!

It’s easy when you know how! As always (I feel like a broken record!) but there is a @zinsseruk primer for this! The bullseye 123 primer provides adhesion to your tiles and then my trusty AllCoat on top as your finished coat! Another alternative is the @tikkurila_uk Otex Akva primer to provide adhesion and then their Luja paint on top! Both are great options and available in multiple sizes, fin...

Why use a primer with an all coat paint? Crazy!!!
You said you’d feedback whether or not sanding made a difference. Can you advise please?
Sanding is key for smoothing out brushstrokes between coats to provide a polished finish! Plus, it preps the surface, helps paint go on evenly, and boosts durability. 😊🖌

Is this an easy to clean surface afterwards? I noticed it's a Matt finish paint. Could I still wipe it down without taking any of the paint off when it's dried? I saw there is an interior gloss and satin in the same type of paint as well. Thanks 🙏🏻
The Zinsser AllCoat Matt is pretty easy to clean, and you can definitely wipe it down without chipping the paint. 😊
Useful video, have a look for some useful radiator tools at ABDtools, tools for taking of Rads.valves etc.

How do you remove the pencil line once you have finished painting the block?
The paint will cover up that pencil line, no problem!

It ends up in the same position either way right?
If your wallpaper is a paste the wallpaper substrate then unfortunately you can only paste the wallpaper. It needs time to soak before application. Hopefully this hack helps with the identification of which type you're trying to hang!

Sorry but the finish looks terrible, is the lady a professional painter and decorator? the brush works is not good, the sheen is all over the place. Not uniform at all, the finish is very brushy. Sorry but either the skill of the painter or the paint is the problem. was the radiator warm when painting? Maybe a slightly thinned paint and more skilled expert would leave the finish more uniformed. This is not a good show piece for Zinsser in my opinion. certainly not a smooth finish.

Why didn’t you choose Allcoat interior? Exterior paint gives off toxic fumes, even once dried!
the exterior is an interior and exterior product, ultra durable and completely waterbased so no toxic fumes
