You don't know the Ikejime method, where is your shimkei wire?
Good modification, the loose assist hooks get sucked in the mouth, fish do not just bite, but the suck water as the open to gulp/bite.
Baby bluefin in California 😂😂😂
What jig hook is that please?
Ur doing this on a PC or mobile device?
Erik, thanks for this video. Noob question for a PBoater…For tuna fishing, does one need to hit the top of the slack high tide, or the bottom of the low tide? What’s best for tuna fishing? Thanks.
To get relief shading must i buy the navionis premium ghat give me the area card so tk play the relief shadow aplication ?
Did that once. Needed harpoon. Cantankerous bastards!!!!!
Awesome video Erik. I have been watching's you for years and you never disappoint with useful fishing tips. Where do you usually launch for a trip to Santa Rosa? I trailer a 22 foot Duckworth boat from out of state.
Do you know where the blue overlay has gone, I just renew my app subscription, and now it's gone just the red annoying one
What size is that boat..?..u take that to Clemente?
Those birds and lil tuna birds know and talk to those fish
31 32 turns on that spot hmmmm I wonder lol
Great video
Very helpful🤙🏽
Dayum
It would drive me nuts..
Subwalker was mesnt for east coast flats fishing, could def use for freshwater though.
C-Map has had relief shading for years. C-Map all the way!!!
Awesome info! Thanks! I'm headed to Mexico in June and here i was spooling up my 160g popping rod with 300 yards of 50lb braid and a 100lb leader trying to catch a Striped Marlin on a stickbait. I could probably go much lighter and still pull it off
He's still working on that thing till this day😂
Fn' lay into 'em!!!!!!!
This Dude is a total bad ass and deserves more recognition! Thanks for all the lessons and education over the years
LOL he's trash
Swheeet!!
Wow, thanks for this and all the other content!!
Wow great details
Do you know what you are doing??????
Nice spiral wrapped rod there. Smart man 👌 I'm hoping to make my own spiral wrapped custom rod soon.
Great work!
I bought the Bluechart G3 Vision version 2021 but haven't used it yet, is there an update when it's activated,
Great commentary Capt Erik!
Awesome. More of these!
How is the relief shading definition for the coastal area PV down to Dana Point? does it show any rocks in the 150 area by any chance?
The best thing to do to maintain the blade is to use a steel. You really shouldn't have to keep sharpening a knife if you use a steel consistently. Under a microscope, the edge of a blade has very small teeth that get bent different ways and makes the knife 'dull.' Using the steel pushes these teeth straight and in line again making the edge sharp once again. This doesn't remove any 'meat' from the knife and extends the life tremendously.
But there was a time, back in my prime 🎶
An incredible resource. Any plans to do a new long-form webinar soon? Thanks Erik!
Didn't quite catch what rod you are using, the 7 footer. Could you comment what it is? Thanks.
9:15 no you cannot cut the head off while at sea. If you get stopped by USCG or your State’s fisheries, it must be attached for measurement (over/slot/under limit) or you will be ticketed and your catch taken. Thats why the commercial guys cut the gill plate off (see Wicked Tuna weigh-ins) but leave the head on.
this is California we have totally different fillet-at-sea laws and no slot limit for BFT. 2 per person, any size
You do not know what you’re saying.
What is the name of the swim bait you are using and can you show how you are rigging it I can’t seem to find that swim bait
I'd take this demo with a grain of salt. The detail is not nearly that good in the coastal Atlantic and rivers. It's also difficult to use because shading only appears when the map scale is 1 NM or less. I recommend thoroughly checking it out on the app before you pay a big premium to get it on your chartplotter. For Atlantic coastal fishing, it may be helpful along the edge of the continental shelf, but in the shallower coastal areas and rivers, it adds little.
where do you fish exactly? are you talking european atlantic or US?
Great Stuff Erik !!!
14:00 -- That's a great point about "going home with a clear conscience" and feeling good about not catching fish. How many hobbies have we all quit because we were so dejected? At least with your calculated method of searching, if no fish appear, then we can remove our self-doubt more easily and be more energized to go fishing another day.
This is genius. Just heard you on let's talk hookup, you are a great guest, learned lots of stuff! I bet there's a market for these I would definitely buy it if it was hanging on the wall at the store.
Why my navionics don't Appear like that . Thank you from Philippines.
Wow
