Thanks for the video! There were some great moments of joy in there as well as some that must have plumbed the depths of despair for you. So happy that even in those bad times you had your several support groups to help you get through it all - and doubly happy to hear that Mum is doing so well. My own Mum had cancer about 25 years ago and sadly things didn't work out quite as well for her and we lost her in early 2003. My personal 2024 has been a pile of 'doodoo', a bit like yours; with my wife breaking her wrist, then being rushed into hospital with septic shock, kidneys shutting down and I so very nearly lost her and then having to have surgery for stents to alleviate blocked cardiac arteries and then having an operation to fit a defibrillator/pacemaker which was only partially successful (they got the device implanted but could only hook up the defibrillator). She's currently scheduled for repeat cardiac surgery in a week's time to try again to get the pacemaker leads hooked up. I also had heart issues which required a long series of different types of tests - as well as some vein issues necessitating leg surgery a week ago from which I'm still recuperating. So, all in all, I hope you'll understand if my 2024 emojis are very negative (but hopefully 2025 will be much better and my end of year emojis in 12 months will be a much more optimistic). I love an oodie to keep me warm in the winter time! It has been many years but I read reckless a while ago and I loved the series at the time! I also really want to read the two chloe liese books because I have heard they are good romances and that the disability rep is done so well too. We have some like it cold in common and I am excited to read more from elle mcnicoll! Rewitched does sound like a you book. Happy to see an Alexis Hall on your list ^^ I really like their romances in general. I haven't actually gotten around to the paris daillencourt books yet but I truly think you'd like it because their romances are just so good generally. I saw the play the mousetrap in theatre and it was a very good show! I should read the playscript as well at some point. Enjoy your new books x

Roger Ackroyd is SO good!! Totally agree about Haven Point and Brotherless Night! I gave The Women a 5 star but it didn't make my best of 2024 list -- I think it was because of things in my life at the time left a bit of a weird feeling about the book. It was totally a me thing. Have you read The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah? Of the 4 Kristin Hannah books I've read so far, that is my favorite. 🐈‍⬛

Such a good and varied list. I read Under the Whispering Door in March and it made me think about other loved ones that I lost 🥲 Legends and Lattes series will be a series that I will put on my TBR 👍🏻 Tomorrow, Tomorrow and Tomorrow is already on my TBR and plan to read it as soon as I can 😊 😺

You did well to achieve your tbr goal for the year! And getting your read books down sounds good for space reasons. I am glad you liked the catch and finishing off the amy lea series! I need to read books 2 and 3 myself as well. I am glad James could pleasantly surprise you and then you loved it. I have the audiobook waiting for me on my listening shelf. I am not surprised the women was one you absolutely adored and loved it. I really need to read it myself as you know I love kristin hannah too and it is waiting for me on my shelf. And it's sad as her books always are.

Ah it sounds like you were a bit disappointed by the sequel! I didn't really love a good girls guide to murder so I think I made the right choice by not continuing. I'm so glad you loved you made a fool of death with your beauty so much!! It's an absolutely favourite of mine and it makes me so happy to see you love it too.
