This movie is pure propaganda by Ridley Scott (no surprise). The movie tries to make Saladin appear to be this noble fella, but he was far from it. Also, the Crusades were a very rational and necessary response to centuries long Islamic aggression/expansion. Just look at "The Fake History of Saladin" by Raymond Ibrahim and "Why The Crusades Were Awesome, Actually" by Pax Tube. There are many kind/civilized muslims out there, but Islam's history - even to this day - is all about expansion through Jihad. I mean just look at the situation in much of Europe, England, and the Scandanavian nations. This isn't to say Christianity has a picture-perfect history either. Many terrible things have been done in the name of Christ (mostly through the RCC which is a satanic institution), but for the most part the true saints of Jesus Christ have been persecuted and martyred in sharing the Gospel. The two most persecuted religious groups in all of human history are Christians and Jews. The Bible is the most popular book in the world. The most prosperous and free nations in the world have Judeo-Christian traditions (From Sweden to Germany to England to Australia to USA, etc.). Jesus is the most mocked and hated religious figure in the world, despite people all admitting that He was a man of peace who lived a sinless life. Just some food for thought.
