In the early hours of the 17th of March , 2024, Queensland Police responded to a reported break-in at a Gold Coast residence. The homeowner, alerted by CCTV, provided officers with descriptions of the intruders. Arriving swiftly with the Dog Squad, police discovered two suspects attempting to flee. One was located hiding in bushes but refused commands to surrender, leading to a police dog apprehension. The suspect was later taken to the hospital for treatment before facing multiple serious charges, including attempted break-in and possession of housebreaking tools. Despite pleading guilty to some charges, the magistrate sentenced the offender to 12 months of probation without recording a conviction. The swift response of the Dog Squad ensured the suspect was swiftly detained.
