New Technologies 2024: WORLD'S MOST POWERFUL ENGINE! MAGNETLESS RADIAL ENGINE! 815HP 39KG!
New Technologies 2024:
In the evolving landscape of automotive technology, electric motors are making significant strides, offering enhanced power with reduced weight. Notably, the Koenigsegg Gemera showcases a groundbreaking "raxial" motor, dubbed Dark Matter, which, at a mere thirty-eight kilograms, delivers an astonishing eight hundred fifteen horsepower. This innovation combines axial and radial magnetic flux structures to achieve a superior power-to-weight ratio, setting a new standard for efficiency. On the broader spectrum, the industry is moving towards reducing reliance on rare earth metals, crucial for magnet-based synchronous motors, to lower costs and dependency on volatile supplies. Companies like ZF and Mahle are at the forefront, developing magnetless motors that maintain high efficiency without the need for expensive materials. These advancements not only promise to make electric vehicles more affordable but also more sustainable, heralding a significant shift towards electric mobility.

CVT Continuously Variable Transmission. There is NOTHING CVT about this setup. It is usually a series hybrid with a big electric motor (more powerful than the gasoline engine) powering the vehicle like the electric car that it is (most of the time). And the gasoline engine running as needed driving the generator. Out at highway speeds it would be inefficient to make electricity to immediately use it in the big motor so for steady state cruising the engine clutches in to propell the car. This is a fixed ratio 1 speed drive, nothing CVT about it. If you floor it to accelerate the gasoline engine will unclutch and go back to generating electricity while the big electric motor accelerates the car. Nothing CVT about it.

If these dimples would reduce fuel consumption by 50 %, every car manufacturer would have them already. They have been researching how to make an economical engine a lot longer than these guys and have probably simulated or tested just about every "piston shape" under the sun.

Engine weight 10Kg, output 40hp, still burning fossil fuel and using oil as lubricant. New Koenigsegg electric engine 25Kg, output 1000hp. Why are we still wasting time and money in RND for fossil fuel combustion engines? Wouldn't it make more sense to invest this RND money in clean battery technology and charging infrastructure?

The Honda eCVT is a technological marvel. But there are lot of things Honda, a Japanese company should have looked at. The setup of Honda eCVT is complex and more costlier to manufacture and it still bears Clutches which inturn is vulnerable to wear and tear makes two points down on reliability. I still think Toyota eCVT is much better is terms of performance and reliability.

I agree with most of the comments on this. I believe a flat top piston, with a very shallow combustion area, produces a better twin swirl combustion chamber, by the angle and flow of the intake ports. Let me overlap my camshafts, for better scavenging effects. And I can show you a higher performance on the stock engine. But if we're talking about diesels. They're over-sexed 2-stroke engines.(Same idea) Just saying...........

I still think hydrogen fuel cells would be a good alternative. You see major manufactures of electric forklift equipment already doing it. And yes, you could power your car with electricity generated by such a fuel cell all the same. And hydrogen is way easier on the environment. I think the battle as far as you and I are concerned still comes down to greed. The struggle to put money into who's pockets for this. You might find that's a huge contributing factor rather than what we can develope.

At first glance this pistons seem to bump up compression and it seems it creates a smaller higher pressure zone for "combustion" to happen, which in turn also creates a higher compression. It also seems that the test results are cherry picked to suit the ideal rpm for the piston to work at full efficiency. I am sure the pistons are an improvement from oem especially in "heavy duty" engines where there is a lack of performance oriented hardware inside the engine. I bet this large diesel engines have a run of the mill, 0 technology piston. I highly doubt in a modern diesel engine those claims are broadly applicable without cherry picking results

It's another variation of the two-stroke cycle engine, so for all its 'cleverness', it's probably dead in the water on account of basic lubrication issues & high exhaust emissions.

I believed gas powerturbine engines was the key to hybrid electric cars, trucks, boats and aircraft for a long time. The only problem with gas powerturbine engines is the large fuel consumption and the slow torque buildup. A hybrid solve the slow torque problem. They are get closer to solving the high fuel consumption and high temperature issues also.

"... the weight is only 1500 Kg ..." Newton Meter, Watt and Kilogram are SI Metric System units. And in this system of units, kilogram is a unit of Mass NOT weight or force! If you are going to mix the old, obsolete metric system from the 18th Century with the modern metric system, then technically you should be saying kilogram-force for weight because weight is a force. It has the units kilogram meter per second squared = Newton. Say "Mass" when referencing the unit gram/kilogram. One kilogram of mass is the same value on Earth, floating around weightless in space, and on the Moon. But the weight is different at each of these locations. Static weight is the product of mass mutiplied by the acceleration of gravity.

This bloke is talking through his hat. 1) it is a 2 cylinder engine. 2) it is a 2 stroke engine. This fellow’s claim it is equivalent to a 4 stroke engine is just wrong! If his 0:15 claim was correct every 2 cylinder 2 stoke engine could be considered a 4 stroke engine. What he neglected to point out this engine will have significant balancing problems.

When a turbine is up to speed I wonder if road vibration or hitting a pothole may disrupt the rotation enough to cause damage. If they are robust enough to deal with the vehicle going through a bit of abuse, then I think we should start using them yesterday. I dont belive it i know that mixing gas "Liquefied Petroleum Gas - LPG" "natural gas or propane" with diesel fuel in like 10-30% "9/1 to 7/3" without any modifications gass is injected in to an air flow and give more power with cleaner exhaust gases tested on old diesel engines and installation cost about 50$ using used parts like gas bottle reductor some rubber pipes no piston in the world give you this much power and engine works better cleaner and has better work culture Most of the time you shave you trade 1 liter of diesel for 1 liter of LPG so if your car takes 10l of diesel then with LPG you get 8 diesel and 2 LPG and in trucks it goes about up to 50% with specialised installation. ua-cam.com/video/Bl2qxvlGAuQ/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/iWuNdCjs190/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/Bl2qxvlGAuQ/v-deo.html
