I think the long shot is brilliant. The queen getting smaller with the passage of time but the building still standing strong is such a powerful image of what the monarchy should aspire to be: a symbol of continuity. That’s my personal interpretation. They had probably only one camera to redo a shot or something prosaic like that. :)

One of his top five finest performances. Jude Law also would have made a fantastic Dorian Gray, if he was allowed to work with an excellent script & consummate director. Both main performances would have astounded Oscar Wilde, who would lavish eloquent praise upon Fry & Law, each of whom were powerfully immersed & riveting. Great Movie!
