A KC-135 was the first plane I worked on and the last plane I worked on during my 20-years career, with many maintenance and flight hours in between. A great airframe to have been associated with.

Great video! Ended my last 2 years as crew chief on 56-3642, with the J-57/wtr injection engines. Good travels and long trips away from home, and many days/nights spent on SAC alert.

I was Fort Benning , O.C.S. 1967 Graduation 94th O.C.S. Company.

I had this documentary on VHS as a kid!! This actually brings back so many memories holy cow..

Actually, Boeing 707s were based off the original KC-135s, which was in turn based on Boein'g's "Dash-80" spec built prototype. 707s had slightly bigger diameter fuselage's, wings and tail feathers. So damn proud to be an American. Long ago we showed the world what we are capable of. If anyone doesn't know it we are going back to the moon in a few years. Test flight scheduled for late 2017. Just a babyboomer kid in the 60's and 70's watching the Apollo launches and splashdowns- even then I had a tremendous sense of pride in my country. One night soon we will able to look at the moon and know Americans are there looking back at us.Always keep the faith!
