Spent the last 6mons updating our kitchen from lenoleum to porcelain tile, floral wallpaper to stained shiplap, pickled oak cabinets to shabby-sheik, plantation shutters, farmhouse window trim, formica counter tops to cantera stone tile, cast iron porcelain divided sink to Elkay fireclay porcelain deep apron sink that I found at habitat for humanity for 40 bucks, electric cooktop to induction a...

78 Shovelhead Chopper Update

After finding my ideal chopper I began the process of getting it running, and just changing things up the way i wanted them. I found that the Mikuni I bought was not authentic so now that has been installed and runs fine.
78 Shovelhead Chopper Update 11
Переглядів 583 роки тому
After realizing the Mikuni carb that I had had so much trouble with was actually a knock-off Mikuni; trouble running free from the choke and fixing the bowl float valve seat to have the same issues over again, I noticed there was no Mikuni stamp or serial number. I installed a true Mikuni. I used the factory 25 pilot jet and 165 main jet. I fabed up a short aluminum tube to adapt to the outlet ...

In this video I talk about replacing my current shorted-out Dyna S Ignition with a new one. I hope this helps anyone having trouble with their own.
78 Shovelhead Chopper Update 9
Переглядів 313 роки тому
I discuss the difficulty with my 1978 1/2" head bolts but I do finally get a good torque across all bolts and install the motor into my powder coated frame. This rebuild has been a long process of 1 and 1/2 years but it all came together well as you will see in the next update. My only regret through this whole build is not taping enough. I had no one else to really help me with this so I only ...
78 Shovelhead Chopper Update 8
Переглядів 353 роки тому
I took down the entire bike when I discovered a rear head gasket leak spitting oil against the frame riser post. I pulled the motor then disassembled the rest. I did some grinding away of weld slag and just a good overall metal clean-up of frame and sent for black matte powdercoat. My rambling through this video is a result of my findings for gaskets and Im sure there are proper gaskets for the...

No siction on mine it was blowing like crazy
Omg im havin issues with my 2010 volks cc 2.0 turbo smoking out exhaust like crazy! Hope this is my problem.
Have you fixed this problem I’m having it also
Was your car losing/burning oil prior to this PCV fail?
No sir it was not. Got a check engine light and noticed the whistling noise from the assembly
Mine is and I’m about to replace it today. Burning 5qt a month.
@samsinyard did you figure out what's up? Mine is burning 4 qt in about a month
@emilydurbs ive been driving easy to avoid using the turbo. Oil level stays level when i go easy, but passing and hard acceleration makes the oil level drop.
Same issue guys. Did replacing this fix your problem
Did you use the force to remove that?
Mine throwing a similar code but has a bit of gas into it. Could this be caused by this right here?
I doubt there is any gas relation
Get rid of this car.. ASAP! -former owner
Oh I finally did!! After I had to replace the turbo!! Never a vw again...but 2013 was noteably a bad year for tiquans. I spoke with a cert vw mechanic and he said the vw 2.5 ltr non-turbo is a fine engine.
@@kjenkins8648 Yeah, I got the same car and literally 6 months later had to scrap it... I will NEVER.. EVER by a VW again! They should be sued for that piece of garbage! From now on only toyota or honda.
@@dloren6183 Lol, tell me how you really feel!
I would love to but I can’t get another one at the moment 😫
@@engelsgarcia2976 I was in the same spot.. but when you can get rid of it that engine is going to go out its just a matter of time.. anything with oil going to the engine is a sure sign of a big huge problem.
Awesome. Just fixed mine. Thanks
You said there was a diagram something orange line in the back ? How do u check that
It could be the complete assembly that the diaphram unit sits on. I eventually had to replace that as well. I would just advise in this case to have a european car mechanic take a look at it. A few days later I had ignition coils go bad too. They attach to the top of your spark plugs.
Kevin, same issue here with 2010 tiegan. Changed pvc valve but made not difference actually a little worse miss fire n epc light came on
Mine passes ther diphram leak test but fails the dipstick test?
Then i would replace the complete assembly. A few months later I had to as well. Not expensive though. Easy to install.
Does the finger test prove anything? on the little hole?
Only that the valve diaphram is ruptured.
That clutch basket and plates had a LOT of oil/ grease in it. Where did it all come from? You must have really put a lot of grease on your clutch hub bearings,
I have since dug deeper into my motor and installed new shaft seals and new five stud clutch assembly. I will be uploading some new videos on my progress.
Hie k help me her how to remove torque converter vw targuan 5no
Did the car use a lot of oil? I have an 05 Touareg, which is in need of the PCV anyway; it is indeed sucking air from that port. But it is also using way too much oil between changes; nearly three quarts. Crankcase overpressure cause that?
No sir it did not use any oil. Your issue could be any number of things. Worn rings, excessive leaking out of rear main seal, hopefully none of these but this did fix the issue I was having with the obd read out. Wish you the best in resolving!
Yes over pressurizing the crankcase will causes oil usage but you will see lots of residue under the carriage behind the engine if ur using that much oil.
K Jenkins I will crawl under it and take a look. I thought that may be the issue. And since the PCV valve diaphragm is bad, it would cause overpressure right?
@@russellsullivan8947 Yes it would. Without the crankcase being able to get rid of the pressure that builds up, the next weak point would be the front and rear main seals that are rubber rings that hold the oil in the sump.
