Improve Rotation as you Age! - Exercises for Older Golfers
This video is specifically aimed at those losing flexibility as they get older, and feeling like it's becoming more and more difficult to make a golf swing.
I go through exercises and stretches, focusing on the spine, as this is where I think most golfers could make a good amount of improvement, in their swing.

Four Ways to Improve Core Strength for Golf
Переглядів 16521 годину тому
In this video I go through the 4-steps (or physical qualities) I see to be important for training the 'core' for golfers. When referring to core exercises in this video, it's based off those that people would typically call 'core exercises'. For the core endurance exercises, a good place to start would be to rounds of golf 30 seconds. For the strength and power exercises, a good place to begin ...
Exercises for Golfers Losing Club Head Speed with Age
Переглядів 9514 днів тому
In this video I go through 3 exercises to help improve mobility, strength and power. All that can be done at home (if you have a kettlebell!). As we age, we lose mobility, strength and power... and these three things are all important for marinating (or improving) swing speed. When saying 'push ups aren't great' in the video, what I meant was, if looking to improve strength/max strength, with s...

Beginner Kettlebell Exercises for Golfers

Basically, when using kettlebells, we would be looking to improve strength and/or power. We can do lots of fancy type exercises which might involve golf related movements, and can make up some of your workout, BUT you must include the basics first. That being said, I do generlly prefer dumbbells for the exercise shown in this video (expect kettlebell swings, of crouse), but if kettlebells are a...
Stretching Method for Bigger Backswing & More CHS
Переглядів 324Місяць тому
The style of stretching shown in this video has been shown to be as good as static stretching when looking to improve flexibility over time. There are lots of different protocols/timings to use for contract relax stretching, however, I like the 10s hold for each part because it's simple to understand. Additionally (compared to static stretching), this style of stretching could help transfer fle...

In this video I want to point out to golfers that dynamic stretches have their place, but to use them to improve flexibility over time isn't where you should be using them! Dynamic stretches have their place and can help improve flexibility transfer into the golf swing and are great for warms ups (for example). ⛳️ FREE E-Books and Golf Fitness Workouts ⛳️ www.mattscottgolf.com/ebooks ⛳️ ONLINE ...

Two Best Stretches for Golfers
Переглядів 108Місяць тому
Here's two stretches for golfers to help increase the length of their backswing. Or at least help improve thoracic rotation (which in my opinion, is probably most important for a bigger backswing). Two stretches include a static and dynamic stretch and will take 2-minutes if you only perform them on the trail/backswing side only. You could perform these before playing golf, although the point i...
Three MUST DO Stretches for Golfers
Переглядів 1213 місяці тому
In this video I go through three stretches to improve t-spine rotation. Firstly, you need to work out if you need more rotation in your specific golf swing (or need more for day to day life), test where you are currently at and then use static and/or contract relax type stretching to improve flexibility/ range of motion and then dynamic stretching to help transfer into the golf swing. For stati...

In this video I go through 3- 'general' and 3- 'golf specific' power exercises you can do to help increase your club head speed. Both general and 'golf specific' exercises can be important, and the golf specific ones don't necessarily mean they would be better for you. As mentioned in the video, you could perform the 6 exercises as a power workout (after warming up, of course) or you could perf...

Hey, I would add a power based/med ball and core exercises in the same session... generally easier and means you only have to do 2x sessions per week. Hi Dennis, Good question... As always it depends, but you can't go too far wrong starting with 2-3 sets of 5 reps for each of the exercises in this video. I'm using a 3kg ball in the video, and this would be a good place to start for most (I wouldn't go too heavy; keep it fairly light and explosive).
