Turkey barn maintenance. Turkey Tuesday Take 2 hope it works
Saw you on Country View Farms and came over to check out your channel. I subscribed with notifications, Thanks you letting Rebecca and Evan video your family and for sharing you knowledge Blessings Abound!
Welcome to our channel. Thanks for watching! Have a blessed and safe day.
try a go pro for your videos just trying to help mate
Yes would love to have a GoPro Someday maybe.
or get a dash cam that does the inside front and back
Have tried one. It’s ok had its own problems. But good food for thought.
why do you not use a dash holder for your phone ? so you can keep 2 hands on the wheel?
We have tried a variety of things just haven’t gotten the right combination yet. Thanks for the advice.
hope evan doesnt mind me saying but if you have electric problems give evan a shout he is good with electric and solar
Yes he is very talented . I have asked him several questions probably more than he might like. lol Thanks for watching
Sure wish "good christian" folks like you understood how insane it is to base your entire livelihood around the use of carcinogenic endocrine disruptors. Perhaps that is a re-think you should, uh, rethink
We are constantly rethinking. Never ending to keep our farm sustainable.
Nice ride
@@josephmcdonnell6869 thanks. It was a fun machine
interesting system. I like the forethought of having the backup system. I don't imagine it takes too much time in hot weather to lose a lot of turkeys if there were no water.
About 20 minutes to get things running again. Not much that’s for sure. How’s things out your way? Thanks for watching.
@@KannmacherFarm I am in Western Pa. Going good here. busy making some 2nd cut hay(round bales) today. we tinker with 3 small farms and 25 cow/calves. dry weather early. so, not much 2nd cut to make.
Glad to hear. Sorry about 2nd cut.
I hope your former students showed more interest than the current bunch of turkeys you are hanging out with. haha. I am amazed at how much a farmer has to know to make a living. These days you have to know circuitry, mechanics, welding, fabricating, engineering and be a good operator too. Glad to see another video. Keep them coming. PS I did catch your daughter on the Country View Acres video. Glad she is still involved on the beef cattle side of the business.
Yeah this bunch of birds are a little in the lazy side. Some pretty exciting times for the country view gang.
yes, they are all riveted to your explanation of the printed circuit board. they didn't go to college for nothing !
lol thanks for watching.
Those turkey are so hyper. How do you keep them in the barn??
The barn is closed up.
Gracias 🎉 genio
Thank you.
Thanks for the update. I don't have any criticism of what you are doing. I have several tiny farms that just hold 4 to 6 cows and has hay fields to bale. I know what it is like to juggle weather and projects. have to do what you have to do to keep things moving like you said. I will let you know though.. the sound on this, at least for me, was poor. It was low enough even with my sound turned way up that I would lose what you were saying a lot and try to guess from reading lips and the context of the conversation. Not a criticism, I am happy for the update because I know you are busy. Glad to hear there is also some progress on the house. Keep chipping away at it... time will take care of the rest. it will all get done eventually.
Thanks Dan, I’ll see what I can do with the sound Shadow and I filmed some planter parts install which in the end had no sound at all It would have been a good video. Anyway thanks and I’ll see what I can do.
Great Video, I believe that Triticale is the ideal Crop to sow between Maize silage crops, thanks for sharing
We made mistakes, equipment and management. But I believe managed correctly it can be a great feed plus fit into a unique crop rotation on our farm. I just have to plan well. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and thanks for watching.
Man, you've had some issues.
Those were just the ones I shared. Not everything goes how you want it to. Sometimes it’s just completely out of a person’s control. But God has been very gracious to us and there are numerous instances of His grace upon us. So we will continue on with the journey. Thanks for coming along with us.
Thanks for the update
Thanks for watching.
I'm 72 and have never seen 2x8 T&G before. Live and learn.
Awesome we learn something new everyday don’t we? Life long learners.
Soooo..8-10 head per bale per day? have you seen any weight variation with the crosses feeding the TRICAl over standard rotational field grazing?
We don’t rotational graze. More or less don’t have the time on our farm.
Being a florist my self you do really nice designs. Sure wish I lived close to you I would love going there. 💐
Thanks. Sherri is really creative.
😅 I like it, you do great work. That little helper didn't do to bad either.😊
😊 thank you. He likes to help. Thanks for watching.
It helped me sir, thank you.
Good deal. Glad to hear it!
hi, how much to tighten for psi tension
I’m sorry. I don’t remember. I’ll have to look that up. Thanks for watching.
Interesting. I have seen lots of wrapped bales from a distance but never knew how or what they were like. We have round bales wrapped with a string but it doesn't get made like that and you can cut the strings and it doesn't just fall apart. Is that because it is triticale or just the way wrapped bales ferment and look like?
The baler kinda chops the triticale up plus as you mentioned it breaks down during fermentation process. It really does smell good when opened and the cows love it. But they have to eat it in a few days. Thanks for Dan
A nice relaxing interlude on the farm.
Well that’s a good way to look at it. Thanks for watching.
Neat video. So fun listening to how things turned out versus what was planned and to hear about the surprises. Also, I didn't realize sunflowers came in a variety of colors. I'll have to look online and order some of the various colors this year. As a surprise to my wife last year, I planted the outside of our garden with sunflowers. They turned out great but adding different colors this year would really pick it up a notch. :-)
I didn’t realize that either Dan. And there are several! Sounds like a neat garden border.
Now that's a bunch of flowers. I hope you will do another video of the flower garden in the spring and summer. I'm interested to hear how the drip irrigation worked out.
Will do! Thanks for watching
Will you guys be adding any roses?
Good question. I think that will have to be answered by mom Caity. Will see what she has planed.
Never had much luck taking wet triticale with wheel rakes, I bought a Vermeer hydraulic V rake which I use for only wet cereal grain forage
I believe we half laped. So on second pass we picked up the rest. But yes it was difficult to say the least. The Vermeer rake looks to be a great option. Thanks for sharing and thanks for watching.
Thanks for sharing. Love your videos! Always enjoy turkey Tuesday
Thank you! It’s been a while for Turkey Tuesday. Thanks for watching!
Might need to ask some turkey advice from you. We always looking to learn.
Another great video, very nice family. Keep up the great work. Merry Christmas and god bless! ❤
Thanks for watching! Merry Christmas!
of interest, did you ever process it as one would rye or wheat for human eating, and bake up some bread with it?
No we raised triticale for cattle feed only. didn't harvest any grain. Thanks for watching
Glad you had a great thanksgiving. One of the sayings or catch phrases I remember is from another youtube video where someone was out in a rainy, dreary day to move or feed his chickens and the whole point of his video that day was to remind us about being thankful instead of complaining about his current situation. He said "remember, we GET to do this."
Very fortunate to even be walking. Sometimes we all especially me forget how blessed we are! Thanks for watching Dan.
A very nice family.
Thank you. Thanks for watching.
You are blessed, nice family.
Thank you. And thanks for watching.
Looking forward to the next hundred. How has the Challenger been running?
Thanks Garrett! We’ll see about the next 100. lol Cat still moving, sometimes it is a little sensitive but still working ground. Probably out lat me. Thanks for watching
Thank you and GOD bless

Neat you have family out toward colorado springs. good friends of our are just up the hill in Divide Colorado. Beautiful area. sounds like you are busy busy busy on the farm this time of the year.
Hey that’s cool. It is a pretty area! Thanks for watching Dan.
Love your way of combining family n farming.
Thanks Joseph.
Nice to see what your in to . Hopeing you have a good harvest . May GOD keep you and your family. And thank you for sharing
Thanks Tom!
That mailbox decoration is a good idea. I remember when I was a boy seeing a mailbox somebody had set about 15 feet in the air. It's bottom was right by the other mailboxes, but it was just up there. I backed up to get a better perspective and read 'AIRMAIL'.
The farm we live on had an air mail mailbox when I was a kid. Carol and Edith Kannmacher. They were fun people. Thank for watching.
It is always nice to see that a new KF video is up. Looks like things are perking along for you all. Good.
Thank you.
Enjoy Your Videos
Thanks for watching Johnny.
Good thing you run the HR department. It could have been a really bad day. That is definitely a learning experience. I can tell that barn was humid and scooping that much feed is the equivalent of eating an elephant one bite at a time. Beans are looking good. Hope your hay is too. we had a dry spell last May and got ours in but.. there wasn't a lot of it. we baled more property just to try to get the same amount of hay.
It has been helpful to be the head of HR on numerous occasions! Lol. It was dry here earlier in June but now good rains. So much so we are having trouble getting into spray. Also short have hay here too. Glad you were able to get some baled. Hope you have a good week out you’re way.
