    Veterans should be first The states and government can spend millions of your tax dollars providing food, medical clothing, and housing for illegal immigrants but have a hard time providing for our veterans and their families. Thankfully, it is because of our veterans' past and future that we enjoy our freedoms and all the great benefits America has to offer. Call write or vote out office any politician at every level of government that does not put Americans first. The politicians' state or government work for you, you pay their salary, and you are their boss. Please pass this message on to others the more who know the more our freedom grows.

    The pics I remember were of her with GIs who were glad to see her. Obviously, she was keen to fake news and preferred authenticity, but it was not essential. You should have discussed it with her freely, but were following orders and never got the chance.

    CPT Curry I've heard your story twice now and it's just as amazing the second time. That B-52 took a huge hit but it saved you and your crew that day. The one thing that went wrong was getting hit by that SA-2, but everything else that morning was a series of fortunate events. I know you were scared but man you held it together and no-one was seriously hurt and you got that plane on the ground in one piece. I touched it at the air force museum at Wright-Patt a few months back and it sure looked pretty. You did some of that flyin' stuff that day for sure. Welcome home. 🫡🇺🇸☺️

    Because the POWs believed it necessary to STRICTLY adhere to the Code Of Conduct, as it was worded at the time, the syntax was slightly altered after the war so that giving in to intense torture was not considered "breaking." The Code today allows for one to resist "to the best of one's ability." I've only read where one or two prisoners never broke. One man would simply respond, "No. Not now, not ever," in response to each question the Vietnamese would ask while torturing him.

    Seems kind of ridiculous to test the bomb twenty times. I think just a couple of times is plenty. But then again they're using taxpayer money so it doesn't matter how many times they test it

      @@1969tss Wow. Thank you. When I started out doing this project, the only rule I had was that I had no rules. I believed any veteran deserves to have their story told if they want to tell it. While I interviewed any veteran interested, I did focus on the WWII crowd more because the clock was ticking with that group. They were also the most open to sitting down to tell their stories. Then Covid came along and shut things down. Still trying to recover from that and get up to the number of interviews done before then. My big push now is the Vietnam veteran, as sadly the clock is ticking with them. I have about a dozen Vietnam interviews I haven't loaded and I a number of vets on deck to do an interview (I don't push it and only do it when they are ready), so will try and get more loaded here down the road. I sure do appreciate your interest. Thank you!

      Thank you for doing this. This is my dad and I'm so proud of him. He is dealing with health issues from his Vietnam service. I say he may not have died in Vietnam but the Vietnam War is going to kill him.

    • @rememberandhonorstories
      @rememberandhonorstories 3 місяці тому

      @@hmum7049 Wow! Thank you so much for writing. I had lost touch with him. Is he still in Lamar? Whenever I load on an interview of someone I've lost touch with or they have passed, I try to locate family to let them know it is on here, so they can share with family and friends. I was going to start an internet search in the morning. I want the world to know about these people and what they experienced. It makes me sad that your dad is going through health issues now, on top of the emotional issues that he undoubtedly brought back with him as well and had to deal with. Yes, the lingering affects of Vietnam will kill many more than officially died in-country and are listed on the wall. Please tell him hi for me and that I wish him well. God Speed to him, you and your family. Thank you again for writing.
