The Last of Spring Tillage (bonus video)
Great Planter, I've always liked them for their simplicity. Even though they are a simple design, the actually do a very good job of planting!!! And maintenance is a breeze!
Seems like a Defender would have been a better choice for your working needs.
I just replaced all the cooler lines a few weeks ago on my 766. She's a 1972 and they was original
Hello, Are you interested in testing our products? We would like to invite you to test the Vented Front Windshield for your 2021 Can Am Commander XT 1000R
Great piece of history! I think it's neat if tractors stay on the farm since new. I still have a tractor that my dad bought new 1966. I have several others that were bought since then and still have them. What part of the country you from?
We have a couple tractors that have been on the farm forever, we are from the St. Louis area
Ive wanted to farm a few acres all my life! Havent had the privilege as yet, but hope one day soon. SoOo that said, your ahead of me 😁. Keep praying, keep trying, and keep up the great work! Good job sir!
'Promo SM'
Is it normally this dry in missouri for you jake?
No not at all
Let's see that beautiful older equipment in a farm tour! Keep living my dream.... I'm a fellow Missouri'n myself!
That video will be coming very soon
Good looking Combine!!!
Draft control is stuck on in 3 point hitch. You need it in “position control” not draft control
These are definitely more of a sport machine then a utility machine the previous models were more user friendly as a utility machine but very uncomfortable on the trail. I had a 2019 which I do believe was the last of the old style I’m getting ready to purchase a 2023 and feel these new ones are a huge upgrade over the old model for trail riding if your doing more utility then the Defender would be the way to go and are way better on the trail then a Ranger
These are nice, but more sports car like than pickup. I find the cargo bed is too high when you have to lift heavy stuff into it!
Pull the doors when spraying, problem solved. I got a 2023 Commander XMR 1000. Absolutely love it !! I like the cup holders, I prefer warm tea on my rides. Keeps my preferred beverage mint !!! Can't please everyone ya know...
I just moved into the side by side world from 30yrs worth of 4 wheelers. Bought the same machine you have, xmr. How long have you had it, any repairs, any must have bolt on stuff?they don't appear to be overly common, just trying to feel them out.
@tyharland1906 mirrors are a must, don't forget to use something to repell ticks. I find one or two every ride. Winch if you plan on solo, tire sealant and tools. Enjoy it man, I sure do. Nice summer weather, I prefer two wheels. When it gets muddy, cold the side by side is amazing.
Hey thanks for the reply. Looking forward to feeling this out, it's about double the machine I'm used to.
Just bought a 800 cyclo. Video was very helpful thanks
They are great planters, it’s just getting hard to find some of the parts for them
@@jakebridges5888 case IH not carry all the parts for them anymore I’m assuming?
We had trouble getting the fiberglass top for the hopper, we were told we got the last one in the country, we were told the fan motor is obsolete and the pto hydraulic pump is obsolete. I think as far as everything else you can still get the parts. My dad bought the planter new 1992. We’ve been considering getting something else but we really like the center fill and the air delivery.
@@secondshiftfarmer8123 I know shoup manufacturing sells the hydro pump for them as for the rest of the parts you mentioned I’m not sure either. I found 2 sitting in fields and since there’s not a lot of content on UA-cam about them I thought I might take those two and try to build a small split row machine w it b them this winter and video tape it. Maybe between the two units I’ll have enough parts!
Let me know if you guys end up needing some parts, I might have them on one of these field find planters. You’re just on the other side of the state so not far away
What is the top speed in low gear ?
Nice review. I own a 2017 model. Yours has huge upgrades from mine. Heat and engine noise are a huge problem in mine due to centre mounted engine. But it’s really stable on turns and hills. I bought the 2 piece windshield . It can push open for air flow. I also mounted a small adjustable fan in the cab. Makes if more comfortable in the summer. Winter season the heat is great. I also had a Polaris before the commander. No regrets for me. I don’t miss the constant repairs . Maybe I had a lemon but it turned me away from Polaris.
Dad farmed all day work nights in an air craft factory all my life. Long before you were born!
My grandpa also farmed and worked at McDonnell Douglas his whole life
been a while, you still farming?
Yeah we are still farming, just had a lot going on in the last year and haven’t had time to pick up a camera. I’m hoping to get some videos out this fall
I sure hope you start videoing again. I have really enjoyed watching you farm while sitting here at work on 2nd shift lol.
Give it time you will forget about the ranger
Omg talk about worthless rambling
If you don’t like the video, you don’t have to watch it or comment on it.
Wy noch new Vids :(
Like your review im torn between Rmax and this can am i guess ill keep scratching my head for now
Why are you comparing the Commander to the Ranger? The Ranger equal is the Defender, the Defender is the work horse or farm use.
I understand that. I said I keep wanting to compare it to a ranger because I had a Ranger for the last 5 years.
It’s his machine; he can compare it to whatever he wants.
Hey would u be able too put an xt number or a dps 1000
Huh?
I never understood the windshield in the summer and say its hot in their. Yes its going to be hot in their. I use a windshield in the winter and don't in the summer problem solved.
The windshield is in year round for many reasons, 1. To keep the wind off my face when traveling down the road. 2. Helps keep the dust out of my face. 3. Protects from bugs hitting my face at night. 4. To keep any debris or tree limbs hitting my face. 5. To keep mud out of my face. 6. To keep rain out of my face when it’s raining. I’ll just assume that you also don’t have a windshield in your car during the summer. Also I had a Ranger with a windshield year round and it was never hot in there.
@@secondshiftfarmer8123 Lol, good answer. With a front windshield it can get pretty dusty in the cab, it gets sucked in from behind. A rear window or windscreen can help if it gets to be a problem. Good honest review. I have the XT-P.
I’ve been thinking about getting a back window that’s vented along with a vented windshield
Mine has a lot of rubber bushing squeeing
Mine doesn’t have that, but my breaks squeak like crazy on or off the pedal
Pushing in the corners is something Maverick Sports have also been reported to have. I hoped the rear diff lock would address that BUT try removing the front sway bar. I know it sounds counter intuitive, however, the sway bars are overly aggressive on this suspension setup from factory.
I will definitely give that a try
If you want to get in and out easier, raise the seats. I used some 4 inch Aluminum channel, and raised my seats 4 inches! It gives me more leg room as well, plus I can see out the front much better. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on your new ride.
I never thought of that, I may look into it. Thanks!
I raised my seats 2”
I will do a update video talking more about the video since some seem displeased with this video
Useless video. Spend more time showing the SxS instead of talking
Thank you for your comment! Which is also useless, spend more time keeping useless comments to yourself instead of typing. Any other constructive criticism you may have?
This would help the bed capacity out. You mentioned 'mixed' emotions about it...pros and cons you have? can-am-shop.brp.com/off-road/us/en/715006810-integrated-tailgate-extension.html
I don’t really have a bed capacity issue, I had midsize ranger and I think the beds are the same size. I just don’t like the bucket seats and doors and how you sit real low compared to a ranger. I’m sure I’ll get use to it. I took it trail riding and didn’t like the way it handled so I’ll be doing some adjustments to the shocks and hopefully that helps.
There is another farm type UA-cam channel that I watch that seems to be not all that far from your farm. The channel is called " wildcat willy ", they are in a town called Trilla, Illinois.
I’ve never heard of either. I’ll have to check it out
Seems like you got a lot done.loved watching the washing at the end.
It definitely seemed like a lot
Your not picking the corn. Your shelling the corn
Everywhere is different, my area we say picking corn and cutting beans
good buggy you got there! got mine last weekend have 142 miles on it already its very capable!
I definitely have mixed emotions about it, now that I’ve had it a month.
Just found your channel and am looking forward to catching up on your past videos. We are from Michigan and run all IH RED tractors. Two of them were my Grandpa's, a 450 and an H. Keep the red rolling!
Two good ole tractors!
Awesome 👏
Your beard is awesome!
The wind kept us from spraying burn down two days, now. 15-20 mph out of the gulf. Love the videos!!!
This weather around here has been crazy this spring
If you are going to put gravel in front of the shed, think about piping the rain gutter water well away from the work area. Keep it drier.
Before the old gutters got destroyed we use todo that.
So glad to see a farm getting cleaned up. My Dad kept the yard and sheds tidy. Hated overgrown mess. And he knew what he had, so every project or repair went smoother with steel scrap accessible.
I definitely like things to be perfect but it’s still a working progress
30 inch rows?
Yes
good job thanks for chering
I’ve never fan a harrow like yours but I wondered if you should lower harrow and raise wheels so they aren’t leaving a track across the field Good luck getting everything figured out and good luck with your crop this year Also I’m from Indiana and I imagine your soil is probably different from what I’m use to tilling
It’s a poor design. If you raise the wheels up then it digs too deep and causes it plow into the front and plug up. We have have super sandy fields and we have super heavy black soil right across the road on the lower fields
It'll be a week yet before we are planting corn here in NE Kansas
It’s been a little wet the last week, I’m hoping to plant this weekend or early next week
@@secondshiftfarmer8123 good luck. I think we will all be rolling toward the end of next week! Love the 766. We are IH as well.
Hopefully it stays dry for a while and thanks
Living the dream
Definitely trying to.
@@secondshiftfarmer8123 we are to small cow calf operation, keep up the good videos
We will certainly try! Thanks for the support!
Great video. We used to run an 800 cyclo. It was on the three point with lift assist wheels. It was an 8 row 30" and it had the splitters to plant soybeans on 15" rows.
I would definitely like to a setup like that... probably have to custom build it.
Congrats from your 300th sub
Love the videos man. I just started making videos agian too. Smaller operation because I work full time off the farm too.
