Based on a reading of all the comments below, it seems there is a lot more to this story than the Wicked Witch told us in her rant. If the road was necessary for the public good, then use of eminent domain was legitimate. The property owner is entitled to fair compensation. Since the owner of the property did not agree with the local government's assessed valuation of the property, the amount of the payment will be determined by the court, where both sides will have ample opportunity to present their cases. Furthermore, the property was apparently a vacant investment property, so the owner was not suddenly made homeless as was implied. IMHO, this story seems more like "click bait" than a genuine miscarriage of justice.

I agree it was your land 100%. Do you still have creek access? Your plot if land was very small for an area seemingly so vast. Im guessing parking was never an issue??? I cant imagine you actually have any privacy or peace with this settlement. I would be selling and moving if it were ne. Now theres less property and full open rights for even more people to gather and be loud, messy, destructive and over all less responsible. If you weren't aware prior to purcgase, disregard this comment. I only have one hiccup. How did you have a reasonable expectation of privacy in your backyard with a park bordering your property and its not fenced or defined as public/private? That is one consideration ive always looked at. Be near a park or school but not next to one. People tend to ignore boundaries.

It makes me so angry and the torment the Race family is going through.. because that took possession and tore it down in record time this family can never get their home back in any way shape or form… I hope their fight leads the way for this legal theft to end! Unfortunately you have a Waaranty Deed for your land. You need to get the Alloidal Title to the land. You can also move the land into a Private Trust to protect it from those greedy little devils in City Hall. There mere fact that you are leasing land you paid for via a yearly tax under your "Warranty Deed" should a red flag in and of itself. Just diacovered your channel and I love what your doing. To be honest the Racee family is being victimized on both sides. By the sellers of the property; as well as, by the city for not disclosing prior that it was to be a future project site, when there morally was an opportunity enough to achieve. The City Lawyer is doing some good advising when it comes to this case and situation.

Very interesting conversation, hmm let's think about it deeper though. Eminent domain taken into account on the basis of 2021 to a purchase of 2022. Sellers are to be in the knowledge and would make sense why they were selling the property before having to deal with an eminent domain issue from the previous owners.

So let's see, there is a campground with a loan against it for between $3.9 Million to $5 Million (in another video the lady showed) and a few houses that cost nowhere near that much in the same area. If you were a citizen in that area, would you prefer your tax dollars pay off the millions of dollars owed on that land, or would it be more prudent for them to take a few houses that cost nowhere near that much?
