The paper is called newsprint. So yeah you're right, it's what they make news papers out of. You could always laminate this bible with clear contact paper to help it last longer.

High-end Bibles are the only thing people pay a premium for to just abuse it. They would never do this to a leather jacket or a pair of premium dress shoe. 🤦

Be careful doing business with Evangelical Bible. I sent them $250 and was due a Bible a week ago. All they will say is FedEx must have lost it. They have not offered to assist or return my money.

Thank you for making this video. I absolutely love the burnished yellow color of the Tuscany, but I was nervous about the leather being too stiff like a lot of calfskin bibles are. My goatskin Allan and Schuyler’s are so soft and supple. And while, as others pointed out, it was an unnatural process, it does show that as the Bible is broken in, will become more supple.

Will it endure many years with synthetic edge lining?

I bought a few of these and pocket new testaments to give out to people who want a Bible but don't have one.i try to get Kjvs esv and even Nivs to give out depending on people's reading capabilities or preferences. If your interested in buying Bibles to give out to people and you want them to have the option of KJV these are actually not that bad

The ESV Study bible is my favorite study bible. It has to be a large print. I do not mind the large size of the bible. It stays on the arm of the couch and doesn't leave the house. I carry a smaller bible to church and on trips. I like the Trutone cover. I applied a Beeswax leather conditioner to it and it will add to the lifespan of the cover. When Trutone gets old. It turns into a gummy substance on the surface. Leather conditioner with BeesWax or perhaps Armor All may extend the life of the cover. I am happy to see your bible review. I know some folks struggle with a fast break-in of beautiful Bible leather like that, but I must admit I found it insightful. Very good unique offering from Schuyler. I ended up purchasing another Canterbury in Tuscany and it sure has quite an impact when one first experiences its quality. I like a thicker leather and I can tell from this video and from what I see in person that it will break in beautifully. In March a new printing of the personal size Canterbury will be released and one of the announced colors will be this Tuscany. I think I am going to get one. It will probably be a stunning little Bible. Though I love the KJBs of yore, I have settled on the Canterbury format for most study. My wide margin Canterbury is the marble mahogany calfskin. I have 3 mahogany calfskin and they are very different in look and in texture. All beautiful in their own way. The wide margin though is exceptional with all the varied texture it has and natural look.

I agree with the calf split being practical. I hold my Bible when I preach and I don't want it too floppy. I use the turquoise.

I use only Mr. Pen gel highlighters, the bright colored ones not the pastels, I had those high gliders you have, and they like crystalized and i had to keep wiping the ends every time before I used them.

How old are you 10?

I just got a calf split for 113$…hard to beat that! I already own one and love it. Goatskin feels nice of course, but the calf split helps keep the book from being overly floppy, and it’s tough as nails. Wonderful paper used here too, I wish bibles would get away from 28 gsm and give us options for 36gsm or even 40gsm.

I've had a Cambridge KJV Pitt Minion that I picked up in June 1963 and it has served me well. within the first year it travelled with me across the US to the west coast then from Travis AFB to Guam, Guam to Adak, Alaska and as far south to Sydney. From Guam we patrolled Palau, Koror then east to Woleau Atoll and Truk Lagoon in the Caroline Islands. The following year I took it from Pearl Harbor to Vietnam where we patrolled from the DMZ then south and around to the Gulf of Thailand to just south of Cambodia. It's still in excellent condition. Within the past year I picked up a Pitt Minion in the NKJV.

I love the design but when I got this I was disappointed in person with the look and feel of the imitation leather. Looked so nice in photos. Also wondering about durability. It's not the same type of imitation leather I suppose, but several of my others from Zondervan etc started crumbling after a few years. I also saw a review of a different Bible where they said they can treat these with leather treatment oils to make them look n feel better but dunno if that would work on this. Any ideas? Also towards making this cover last longer? (PS I got mine Jan. 2020 and they may have changed the materials since then. this one is OOP.)
