I've used this tent 4 times this year and this video saved me! Every time I succeeded in getting it into the bag due to this helpful video so thank you! Awesome tent, has been through the mill in torrential rain and high winds and still remained standing with no leaks!

THANK YOU. I'm comparing packs at mo. Tbh apart from a kilo saving, my bog standard Kathamdu Overland 55 has WAY better carrying features than this bag (which it seems they have listened to you and crested a padded yoke). Those should straps may be OK for a couple days, with 10-12 kilos but beyond that and over time they look feeble. To top it off - waterproofing. Again a less cool Kathmandu pack - refreshed with a spray of repellent once a year - will do you better at less than half the price. Ultralight crew may like this, but people who enjoy more creature comforts, not so much. Did a couple hundred miles last year, half that this year - 4 to 8 day missions (incl Cotswold Way - harder than you think, Hilary Trail (yep, can do mod v) Timber Trail. Tenting and cooking. Heliox chair. No poles. 14-18 kg wet weight.

£30 and you can get 3 x 9.5mm or 10mm poles which make a massive difference if you are using it in full winter and shorten or replace the bungee for the rain cowl and that tightens it up amazingly. I also wrap the guys around the poles on my tents like this. Great video and well pitched by the way, one of only a few who didnt make a dogs dinner of pitching it 😂

i am wondering to buy either this or octagon 8 blackout. my concern is that blackout can get super hot in the summer but on the other hand, getting woken up with the sunrise also doesn't sound great. is this tent getting super bright or does the walls actually cover from the sunlight a bit?

supposedly the cv360 cartridges being produced today do contain an 80/20 butane/propane mix, as do the c206 piercable cartridges for the old bluet stoves which are also still being produced. interesting that the cv360 has a different valve than the other cv 270/300/470 cartridges, i had assumed they were all the same.

good flashlight, the only thing that bothers me is the cable, unyielding and hard, I don't understand why they don't make silicone and soft cable for it.

Osprey Atmos or some Gregory.. there are no ultralight packs, that carry weight better than the Exped Thunder and Lightning for me.. the Expeds are somewhere between ultralight and comfort.. so go more heavy for more comfort

My wife and I used one of these for backpacking for 20 odd years, until we could not get the canisters anymore here in the US. We still use the pot though. A small iso canister fits perfectly inside, and still room for our mini Snowpeak stove. I kept the Rando stove just because I love the design. Trying to find a way to refill the empty CV360 canisters. Thanks for posting this.

Great ideas for water flow and closing and holding the door closed. However, will not subscribe. The actual filming of the video was terrible. Too close to the subject; hard to watch. Maybe learn how to actually shoot a video them do them. Shame too, since the info was great, but now I need to get rid of a headache.

0:54 pertex also has a denier gradient structure, this is one of the main aspects of the fabric which makes it have such impressive qualities and has been widely copied by other fabric manufacturers for use in similar products. This has been present in all pertex fabric since their conception, and worth reading up on.

As a quilt, this is not designed to go anywhere above your neck line. At 5'11", this is quite adequate using the setup of a foot box (two buttons connected), foot strap fully synched and the loose ends gathered and tied off. The top end is buttoned up and loosely tied around my neck. As such, it works well. The only addition to this setup is to add (not replace) a piece of elastic through the top channel so that it is tight enough around my neck to keep the air out, but I can take it over my head easily. As a side sleeper, I can turn easily without upsetting the quilt. This is NOT a sleeping bag and was never intended to be: as a quilt, it works really well
