Finally getting some nice weather to perform winter inspections in some bee yards. In this video, we will take a look and see how some of my nucleus colonies are doing. Lots of nucs, in this particular yard are situated two nucs in one deep super (two 4 frame nucs in one deep super). Managing a population of nucleus colonies to overwinter is the only way I have been able to sustain my apiary wi...

Honey money 💰 🤑 💸
Nice , good luck.
even queens can lay more than one egg per cell
Hello from West Cork. Great video and thanks for sharing how your setup works.
Good video , great to see all the hard work starting to pay off
This is a great video, Troy. I appreciate you sharing your story and how you manage your beekeeping journey. You have built a nice operation for you and your family. I hope all is well!
What is an average crop of honey?
@@mitchelwayne5534 5 year average is around 85 lbs / Colony.
@@hallapiariesnh very nice.
Subbed. I'll be hopefully beginning my bee journey in newbrunswick so similar weather to NH
I feel what you said at the end. The infrastructure is a big deal and nice to have it paid for and now you can pay you…
What are the materials used to make your feeder. How do you keep it from leaking?
You don't need to rinse off the detergent?
Hive lifter works great!
Great video. Thanks
Thanks for sharing sir. Glad to hear your story of how you made it to be a self sustaining full time beekeeper
Cool sugar mixing idea! How nice pulling supers now!! Rooting for you!!
Great video 👍
Great video Troy. I'm trying to increase my hive count which is currently around 80 hives as a Sideliner. I'm actually purchasing one of Bianca 20 frame Dadant extractors. I believe she now has the same line as you. Love the videos and the educational content you provide.
what is the brand name on that wax spinner if you dont mind.

I have learned more from these two videos "Beekeeping Cowboy 1&2" about queens, queen marking, laying workers, spotty brood, etc. Keep them coming Troy, great stuff. Also the lineage of the two queens I recently got from Hall Apiaries will be known. Thanks!
Are the frame feeders tall enough to keep the queens from crossing over in the double nucs?
I’m enjoying your videos Troy!
Great video thanks for sharing
Honey 🍯 Prices… Why is nobody making a video about the Bulk Honey 🍯 prices and the imported honey???
Troy. You have an interesting method of inserting those queen cages. Can you explain how you came to choose that method? Specifically, off to the side and somewhat far down the comb. Thanks.
Thanks for a good video, you use the same nuc principle that I have been using but im certainly not as efficient.. Good practice that you are promoting there, I'm wondering how you quickly find the queens in 3 deep boxs? I appreciate the work you do in sharing your expertise.
The way you use those weaker hives sounds exactly like what I call my Zombees. It's a great use of resources IMO!
Great video Troy thank you!! Your efforts in your video improvements are noticeable and this was a real good one!!! Your queens I got a few weeks ago look amazing btw. Couldn’t be happier with them, brooding up nice.
Where do you get your veil I've been looking for one
@@SF2BeeRanch I purchased mine from Dadant. It's called an Alexander veil, I believe you can find them elsewhere too.
Good morning Troy, your videos are getting better the more you do. Thanks for your efforts. Hoping to get you to speak at my club again this year, we always enjoy the in-person presentations. Take care, Brice
Great video ❤
Interesting. Timing and planning.
Nice work. Do you have to keep those small Nucs away from other hives so they don’t get robbed out and killed? Stay well!
@@OutdoorsandCountryLiving I keep all the nucs in yards together so robbing seldom happens.
Great job Troy. I like the way you install the queen cages. I realize I fuss too much. B.
How do you go with two full depths and then the excluder. I found that they plug the top box and will not pass through the excluder.
@@bryceharrex8407 it depends on the intensity of the flows. I typically have good strong honey flows in the early summer so the bees pass through the excluder onto drawn combs in the honey supers. Some years with mild flows I see more swarming.
I have been seeing " The Shake" but no one said why. I'm new. Thank You for telling me.
I gasped when the machine almost rolled off.....good grab. Hope to meet you at NHBA picnic in July!
How do you deal with that webbing? Scissors?
I gently use my hive tool to break apart the webbing.
What veil do you use? I need one of them
Alexander Veil. I know Dadant sells them.
Good stuff!
👍
I enjoy watching u learn video... Its definitely not the easiest art to master add comments and public opinion and it can be no fun. I appreciate your honesty... With misses or anything. Keep up the great work
Seems like you and Cory stevens are the future with beekeeping a lot of interesting information keep up the great work
I am in southern Maine and was wondering if your bees are working the multiflora rose and blackberries this year? I have not seen the bees on either this year. What breed or breeds are your bees? I am looking for some Caucasians genetics to add to my operation.
Yes my bees will work multiflora rose regularly, a good pollen source. My bees are mostly Craniolan, Russian crosses.
@@hallapiariesnh This is the first year I have seen no bees working multiflora rose. I farm near 3 other beekeeper apiaries and no ones bees are working multiflora rose.
Great video. 👍
Great tips as always , Thanks👍👍👍
Looking good, Troy!
You guys should put out more videos. Your operation is awesome! And we need more north east beekeeping info out there
Very well explained. Thank you for sharing the process, and thank you for the follow-up video describing the 6 day schedule!
Looks very nice. Are you boxes wax dipped? What is the finish on them if not?
Yes I have most of my supers dipped.
👍👍
