These repairs estimates are WAY high man. I know I’m late to you getting this but there is no way the dash being pulled + parts is 5000. A typical shop MIGHT charge 1000.

M100 and M200 are underrated cameras...very compact and a lot of features and nice sensor. just paired with a 22mm canon for pocket or a 16mm sigma for studio. I also use mine with a 300mm for the moon and tele 😂

I like the M200 for streaming and with the Viltrox lens adaptor and speed booster you have a huge choice of lenses. Both of which also fit the M50 mark 2 which I use for video and content creation. With the Canon Eos webcam utility both cameras also make excellent webcams with a clean HDMI out and a very decent image quality.

You can get a front differential for a few hundred bucks but I bet it was th front driveshaft that made all the noise . And how is it only worth 400 bucks if you just spent all that on front end parts ?? I know this is an old post but also did you refill the gear oil after this job ?

Sorry for the confusion, there’s no IBIS in either the M200 or the M6 mkii. The setting in the camera’s menu is strictly for lenses that have IS. Kind of like the external flash menu on the M6 is grayed out with no flash mounted to the camera. I believe that there is a “digital” ibis on the M50 which crops the image and then digitally stabilizes the image vs a system that physically moves the sensor.

great video. I took my clutch fan off buy grabbing the water pump pulley on the top with a heafty vice grip..which rested to the right of that large bolt you removed later on. then I used a pipe wrench and the nut came loose with minimal effort. i dropped the clutch fan (without it falling to the ground) downwards and picked it up from below. the belt stayed on. easy peesy..

I am so surprised and happy to see Cristopher’s post about the two cameras I have been using for long time. For my old M50 I used a speed booster for my Sigma Ef-s 18-250mm lens and I have just purchased the Canon Ef-s 15-85mm. I use this camera for outdoor and other activities. My M200, boy I love this little camera, I use the 22mm fantastic little lens and the old 18-55mm lens that came with the M50 some time ago. The M200 camera setup I use is for any inside the house activities and I have been very pleased to display my photos to friends and relatives as they love my work.❤❤❤

22mm F2 lens is not stabilized. Kit 15-45mm lens is stabilized. Stabilization is part of lens not camera. You need stabilized lens to activate IS in menu. You can find it in lens specification. It is not camera problem.

I .bought the M200 for its small size and weight but found the buttons too tedious. Ergonomically poor with no front grip. On/off button is too small and difficult to operate. To make any changes in settings the display screen must be navigated. No mic input or a hot shoe, even though the M3 has both of these and cost $100 less?? Also, the M3 has a higher overall score in other independent reviews. So you are quite correct about the camera being "crippled".

Stabilization doesn't work with all adapted lenses like you say here, it only works with lenses that have their own IS. That's why none of the primes support it, because the digital stabe only applies to video by simply cropping the frame. It cannot do anything for stills, no matter the lens. For IS in photos, you need a stabilized lens, not digital IS. If it were IBIS, then your complaint would be legitimized. Nonetheless, nice video on two awesome cameras! I love my black M200 with the brown leather grip case, i take it everywhere.

Sorry to hear it was your differential! I’m trying to figure out if you had similar symptoms like I’m having. When im driving 20-30 mph and above going straight or turning to the right I get this rubbing and vibration on the front drivers side, but if i slightly turn/swerve to the left the sound goes away completely. Basically when you take the pressure off of the drivers wheel the sound and vibration go away. I’ve changed the wheel bearing and rotated the tires and still have the issue. I also changed the propeller shaft last year and that’s still fine. Just curious if you had the same symptoms. Thank you!

    • @Wavetechlifeguardian

Mine was the front diff pinion bearing. It sounds like it might be your problem too. When it went, it went bad, completely threw out the drive shaft. I already had a bent frame from an accident with a unlicensed and uninsured motorist, so it wasn't worth fixing for me. For you, it may be???
