Despite people hating this album because of the way it was presented and the the way it was marketed, I think it’s a really good album on its own actually

imagine my spotless fuckin iTunes collection, then one day I woke up with the fuckin album on it, with the cringy pedo bono on the cover too. I was so mad. I think this made me delete iTunes for a while.

I think this "disaster" is more a reflection of society than U2.

The free U2 album is overpriced has to be the scorchiest boazing burn to ever be uttered and immortalized on the internet.

I get it was and still is annoying: all these years later my dad’s phone randomly had the entire album play on a long car ride. Invasion of privacy though? Come on. People still say this 10 years on…

I never ever heard any song of the album lmao. I remember this thing messing my storage on my old iPod (32 GB) and I deleted it. Even nowadays I still get this album trynna start automatically when I put my AirPods on. So annoying.

Interesting fact: apparently Bach had the opportunity to play around with the "Arca Musarithmica", a device invented by german polymath Athanasius Kircher. The Arca was able to generate sheet music combining patterns and moods, and was conceived to make a musician out of everyone. Years ago I worked simulating the device and understood why it did not leave trace in music history. The compositions sounded like stock music of it's time. Dull and tasteless. So history repeats, apparently.

Nothing can replace humanity in music. We don't just enjoy music, we are inspired by it's artists and their life story, struggles, successes, morals, values and their place in a larger society. No damn robot can replace that.

My current job, luckily just temporary, has the awful side effect of me having to listen to one of these awful generic SUPERHITS radio stations. Some of these works run on what feels like a 30 minute rotation, they seem to me like first drafts for a song, deemed good enough, every modern technology slapped on to make it sound current, pluck one of those female aspiring popstars from the waiting line, autotune her into oblivion and you're done. Now people listen to this. The majority of people consumes this. They don't give a fuck if something was made by an AI, hell I don't see any real difference between that crap and AI. They just want their recognizable patterns to replace the void in their heads. Oh and great video! Can't wait for this to be plagiarized by a better known youtuber. Damn I'm cynical today, where's my coffee...?

Even if AI gets to the point where it replaces music libraries, I think I'll still opt for using songs from dead games :)
