U have NO idea how much i needed this video for both Lifestream and Makeplace! have a wonderful housing setup but i wish there was a way to save the setting in case i need to do some remodeling. Also lifestream is a huge time saver when doing hunt trains!

you will still clip your gcd if you triple weave, even with noclippy on also take into consideration that if you care about parsing, fflogs might blacklist your logs if you triple weave too much for damage

You don’t need to use noclippy if you have really good ping. (Also you don’t need to triple weave on drg) If you have bad ping it’s understandable if you use it, but generally people frown upon others that abuse it and use it if they have really good ping already.

Is there a plugin that shows your distance to a target, say like in yalms. The small red x in the bottom corner is hard to see.

I'm always surprised when BRD players keep their hotbars separate from the mob healthbar/status effects. I moved all my hotbars and gauges up to the top and it's way easier to check

Youre not supposed to triple weave. This 100% goes into hacking and cheating category with an unfair advantage against others.

if i can contribute to this: the positions of the safe zones are always two on one side and one on the other side, with all safe zones alternating. All you need to do is to remember the order in which they come and there are never two safe zones next to each other. For the second pattern, if you want uptime, you can go to the safe zone after the mechanic as the leeway is unexpectedly generous, but in the first phase you almost always have to stack with everyone and move posthaste. EDIT: The pre-card mechanics are always Shimmerstorm>Flourishing bow>Double Misdirect.

i wish the speech bubbles was a real thing, i don't know why a game like this doesn't have this basic feature. Isn't there a mod that works rn for this?

I will need to reflect on this video when I play next time. I do know a few of these sites while others are welcomed surprises. Of course, for those who might not know, Garland Tools is a nice “where do I find this item” site. For those who are crafting, this is a nice place that helps to pinpoint where you can go to gather supplies you want in case if you don’t want to buy items outright.

The video starts good, but gets a little vague/misguided at 2:30, as it assumes a single, specific layout. Whether you use Standard Layout with auto face, or Legacy Movement may change your movement keys. I use Standard Movement for combat because its more precise, faster, and gives more control, specifically for the camera (its always the legacy people that get hit by the weird AOE telegraphed from far away because they use camera based controls) but legacy is easier for people to adapt to even if it gives less control options that standard does, legacy was made for controllers originally; also this video assumes you do not have strafe AND character turning keybound, for example, I dont think turning keybinds are super useful, but its worth mentioning. The bindings in this video requires you to let go of movement keys to hit hotkeys, which is a given only if you dont use a MMO mouse. An MMO mouse using just three buttons (7,8,9, or 10,11,12, depending on the mouse) alone, and a shift combo of them (Shift+8, Shift+9, etc) can be used for every basic rotation in the game while never letting go of movement keys, and utilizes those hotkeys StingKnight says to never use =D. Just another recommendation, since I don't regard giving up any omni-directional movement for a ability key if you have the choice (even ones that animation lock). Other than this, the rest of the video is GOLD, with lots of good tips and recommendations (though i use use mouse ping... what else is tilde going to do? =D)

Or just use sloth addon and instead of pressing 30 buttons press 7. Or don't and keep looking at your hotbar 80% of the time. If that's your type of gameplay, enjoy

I am use to playing with a mmo mouse. My question is, how do you press all these buttons while moving with the same hand that needs to press them?

I think button layout should not follow rotation order but priority based on how frequent those keys are needing to be pressed. Putting keys only used during 2min on valuable slots like 1-5 with or without modifiers seems counter intuitive to 90% of the rest of combat time. But what do I know? I'm a tank main lol.

For parsing do not triple weave. You should not be able to triple weave. Your parse will not be counted and you can be blacklisted from fflogs. Triple weaving is cheating

Wait till you find out about the auto-rotations, auto-gatherers and auto-crafters. Bloody amazing.

I've never liked a video from a creator i didnt k ow faster, Icy veins will become my home from now on it seems, because I havent played mmos in a longass time and never got far enough to have the need of something even resembling a rotation and now I have 4 jobs includong a healer and a tank 😅

For the checklist, if you think you're missing any quests but are unsure how to find out. Go to quests, and hit completed. This will pull all your completed quests, but you can filter them by Area Expansion Class/job quests Crafter/gathers Side quests Tribe Raid/trial Even stuff like for Hildebrand. In case some dont want to use an external website, you have something in game to use.

The problem with Healing in this game is a glaring issue with the game's design. Because all fights amount to "avoid crap on floor", you don't really get that many opportunities to heal. Healing in FFXIV amounts to "band-aiding when somebody misses a mechanic" and that is a major flaw with the game's design. Healers in WoW for example are required, healers in FFXIV are not because if the tank and dps are quick enough, they end up taking minimum damage in boss fights and the healer becomes a glorified DPS. Its one of my major gripes with this game, you can tell its a very eastern design because they tend to be obsessed with "mechanical skill", meaning tanks and dps can avoid damage all-together. It's very typical of Eastern game design, its like why League has become so obsessed with fast, high-octane mechanical skill and positioning, rather then the strategic and slower game it used to be. If you like that, fine but it becomes VERY one-note, very quickly.
