Online! Like most research we turn to the internet. The parrot was lovely, it was something we hadn’t seen before so we wanted to see if anything similar had sold. The MDH to GBP conversion meant it was very expensive too, and the honest truth is I didn’t want to pay the price being asked despite it dropping by about 75% in case it wasn’t profitable. I also didn’t want to pay the reduced price and find out it was worth the original asking price, as we like to be fair and reasonable, after all we ALL have to make a profit to keep us in business! This is something I explained to all 3 gents, 1 was dropping the price repeatedly which was disappointing the other 2 gents. Like Del Boy and Rodney we could have made a mistake and left behind a £6million pound artefact, or we could have been paying over the odds for something available on PandaBuy for £10. We never actually researched it in the end as we ended up concentrating on other items.

To be fair most are easy to find just as you walk around the souks. Just don’t be afraid of getting lost, explore and you will discover them ☺️ I definitely recommend getting a Moroccan data SIM card at the airport though and using Google maps.

As a non vegan I can assure you a milkshake made with oat or coconut milk isn’t mimicking a milkshake made with our full fat jersey milk. But everyone has a choice as to what to drink. Besides… the frappes are made with apple juice and not milk!

Do you know when he closed/left the shop? I'm guessing your dad took over from Lesley Sparkes. It’s a bloody nightmare, but as you mention it’s also a very near miss! Thankfully we were there to notice the beginning of the fire in our neighbours shop and stop it before it took a hold. Our landlady and electrician are both happy to just connect The Hive first and then rewire then connect the shops whilst we are refurbishing them! So silver linings and all that 😅😅

It is! We have big dreams and plenty of hurdles… as discovered on the most recent video 😅

He’s lucky we didn’t take the new puppy as compensation 😂

I know right! We're not sure how to fund the BIG picture, but we're going to be less independent and seek free advice from some experts! If all else fails we'll just put some paste tables up and folding chairs 🤣

We were genuinely impressed at the styling, the friendliness of the staff (non management anyway) and the prices! Highly recommend Dishoom too, we’ll try and get there in a few weeks ☺️

If you haven't been before I'm sure you will love it! Marrakech has something for every kind of traveller. Personally we love the old Medina and the hustle and bustle of the souks. But the new city and the popular tourist haunts are equally as enjoyable. Who knows we might even do the quad bike or hot air balloon excursion on our 6th visit. ;)

I'm really sorry but it appears I've accidentally deleted the video I made which shown my reaction to the apartment and a brief tour of it. :/ We stayed in the "Deluxe superior apartment" because I wanted the view of the square. This was our 5th time in Marrakech and whilst it was the least traditional accommodation we have stayed in, it was by far the best for location and I will 100% stay here again. Our positives : The staff were amazing - The rooms were spotless - The facilities such as Wifi, Smart TV and kitchen space etc were great - The views are priceless. Our negatives : The bed was very firm and not what we are used to, that said I slept like a log for 9 nights! There was a smell of damp coming from the shower, but again it didn't stop me showering so no harm done. The shop keeper below room 4 is very loud when moving displays in at midnight and out at 8am I though someone was breaking in on the first night lol. But again, it is what it is... it can't be helped, it didn't irritate us or anything and tbh with exception of the first night, we were awake at those times anyway. It really is a fab spot and well worth the extra few pounds per night! We're going to share some tips on restaurants etc for breakfast too in the next few days so keep an eye out or drop me an email at thehive@vhinteriors.co.uk and I'll send some recommendations through for you to try.
