Coral Bay is a small community south of Exmouth in Western Australia. You only need a 2WD to get here but a 4WD, to really enjoy all it has to offer. In early December, its not so crowded, but you need to monitor the weather to get the best out of each day. The Whale Shark season was finished - but the Manta Rays are there all year. It's a tour worthy of the cost and we're so glad we did it.
For another remote 4WD adventure... we booked a couple of campsites on 'Warra' station, but at this time of year - you need to be totally prepared to look after yourself - because there's next to nobody around!
